The Grim Reaper reaches deeper,
Over-eager to catch a keeper,
Create another ever-sleeper,
At the expense of ever-weepers.

Playing heart-string harps, his hand extends,
Lost in searching, he transcends
O'er prayers and pleas. He descends:
The catalyst of anguished ends.

A terminator of life's coda,
Enternally, he fills his quota.

Dreadful.
Trying to be everyone's clown
While feeling an anchor of reality drag at my guts.
Face paint drips around saline rain,
But everyone sees the drawn-on smile
And joke that my mascara's running.
Lucky mascara, I think; wish I could, too.
Perhaps I'll cry out,
Wipe off the face,
Hope that everyone sees it this time...
But there's already a crying clown across the street.
One with a shinier soap box...
And nary the burden of effort to show for it.

Tears slip away noiselessly in the barren night.
The occasional sound of restless need and anguish
Escapes my lips.
I am cuffed helpless by the continuation of time,
By the continuation of distance,
By the reality of too-far-off daydreams.
I can't.
I can't.
I want to, but I can't.
I can't fiddle with time at will.
I can't determine fate.
I can't even drive.

I just can't...

A Friend With No End**

What exactly is a friend, another mystery in life
how many have we had, until ending with strife
then picking up one more, you think you're there
only to be saddened, realizing, they do not care

Friendship has a formula, a bond of mutual affection
where two hearts and a mind, are the only connection
when personal considerations for gain, reside no more
a relationship with another, with pure caring as its core

Your respect and honor, are as dear to him as his own
continuously sacrificing much for you, time has shown
he can be compared to no one, a true friend that is rare
an unending friendship and love, with you does he share

How to tell a friend what words just can't describe, they fall short
holding you together all these years, was his never ending support
his time, experience, knowledge, and advice, he has never withheld
fears, anxieties, pains and anguish, so often, he alone has dispelled

Where his move to action is not just his credo, using humility to go about
helping others from the heart, pursuing kindness, is his continuous route
while thinking to take instruction from others, clueless to what he has done
having become our model to draw upon, this eternal kindness has he spun

An eternal friend, selflessly giving to others what they need, giving us this hope
throughout his life helping those in need, unknowingly, teaching us how to cope
may G-d grant Blessings of long life, to him, his family, and to his very kind wife
bestowing upon them the ultimate inheritance, eternal happiness in the afterlife
This is a short poem written to describe the ultimate reality existing in a True Friendship

Water filled skies
shade the land,
a miserable scene.
Raindrops fall,
they land and splatter,
great in number,
makes me feel
small.
Mind. Numbing. Endless patter.
Sinking into a slumber,
I begin to cry.
An endless shower.
The howling wind,
the trembling trees,
the drowning flowers,
the earth that’s dimmed,
it’s only me
and the cold filled air –
nobody cares.

I need someone to tell me
everything will be alright

I hope flowers grow in the darkest parts of you.
Daisies in your sadness,
Roses in your despair,
Carnations in you anguish,
Dandelions your anxiety,
And orchids in your depression
I hope flowers fill every hole where you have been hurt
So when you look at the wounds this cruel world has dealt you
You only see beauty
And if I'm lucky, they'll remind you of me

Somewhere, for that girl,
the one with sparkling eyes
and blushing cheeks,

the one who showed so much tenderness
and compassion,

the one who wrote those beautiful short notes,
the one who once cared so much,
and said she was falling for him

there is a man,
who cares as much,
and misses her, and her notes.

And still protects a pinpoint flame,
all that's left of that which was,
once a burning heart.

While the smoke curls upward,
and the fire's strength fallen
he still checks that flame
from time to time,
and realizes it will never extinguish.

While the girl who lit a fire,
who never knows,
and walks forever,
in her dark.
I love you.
I want nothing but the best for you.
You love me
But you just don't want to be hurt by me;
Your passive aggressive threats,
Your unwarranted mistrust of me,
The constent questions, the tests.
Love is supossed to fly and be free,
But all I feel is loves firm grip on my throat its talons digging in to my very soul,
Bleeding me of my empathy.
Am I in this love to fulfill a role?
Is this now my reality?
I'm cracking under the pressure
My psyche beaten and bruised by your ups and downs.
You say "this is a love that's forever"
I smile at you but this smile hides a frown

I love you but it feels like it needs an -e and a -d
because I don't want the love you give me
I can't take much more of this
