Dreams Of Tomorrow
sarthak vadalkar Apr 2020
O, dreams of tomorrow,
Keep us alive today.
To meet you tomorrow,
Help us survive today.

Our little minds
Find it too hard to tackle,
All the situations
While being tied in shackles.

Shackles of expectations
And weight on dreamy eyes,
These are the hurdles,
We are free otherwise!

Little race that we have
To complete the to-do lists,
We wear blinders on eyes,
While walking through the mist.

To break all the barriers
And to find that sun ray,
Focusing on the future,
Let’s find our drive today.

O, dreams of tomorrow!
Help us survive today.
To meet you tomorrow,
Keep us alive today.
So, today I accidentally clicked on the bookmarks folder and found HelloPoetry lying at the bottom! It is surprising how we sometimes forget about the things we once used to love doing. So here is my attempt to make a comeback.
The Thoughts running through my mind regarding the ongoing scenario combined with my eternal fear for future.

Poetic Justice
sarthak vadalkar Mar 2019
Going through a lot
Suffering a lot more,
Will we reach the ends
This sea sees no shore.

Whatever we say,
Whatsoever we do,
It has repercussions
You know that, don't you?

Hurt them, resent them,
Nothing they might say
But what goes, comes back
Its got to find a way.

Sometimes we a victim,
Sometimes you are.
Things change their course
Always leaving a scar.

Living off others' deeds
We don't feel alive,
'Coz the one who dies,
Learns how to survive.
Tried writing after a very long time, coz a bad poem is surely better than a balnk paper.

THEY SAY
sarthak vadalkar Dec 2018
Doing something wrong or objectionable, better do nothing they say,

Not doing anything, better do something and make mistakes they say,

Trying to do something different, you better succeed at it they say,

Took me a while to find out, they themselves don't do anything, they just say !!
Wonder if you also feel the same sometimes?

DILEMMA
sarthak vadalkar Sep 2018
All alone in the journey of do or die,
To get to the top, one must thrive.

'Wherever you go, do not stop' they say
First gotta heal what's broken, if I may.
Whether to stop for a while to gather the energy to move further or keep running until you are exhausted completely, the dilemma continues.

WILL TO LIVE
sarthak vadalkar Jul 2018
Worthless lives
That are burden on earth,
Caught in the cycle
Of death and birth.

Made me wonder
How don't they die,
Realized later,
No different was I.

A beggar I saw,
Body full of disease,
Looking for alms
'give me some food, please'

Broken and shocked I
Thought what can I give,
Greatest thing he had
Was the 'Will to Live'.

WONDERING
sarthak vadalkar Jun 2018
Busy procrastinating
And watching the day pass by,
Lets go there, lets do that
People say, but I deny.

Thinking about world politics,
And why do people die.
Doing anything for it ?
No thanks. No need, said I.

Hoping earth to be
A better place to thrive,
But not working in that direction,
Ever wondered why ?
chaotic thoughts in a boring noon.

YOU
sarthak vadalkar Jun 2018
YOU
The moon and stars of the skies
They remind me of you,
The perceptions, truth and the lies
They remind me of you.

Your innocent yet ravishing smile
Swiped right through the heart,
Made me unconscious for a while,
And ripped my heart apart.

That every hair flip of yours
Makes me wanna die for you,
Every second that you're away
Makes me wanna cry for you.

A million words would not suffice,
Such is the beauty of you.
My heart runs on edge of a knife,
Such is the beauty of you.
To the one who does not care whether i exist or not, yet lights up my world !!

RHYME OF LIFE
sarthak vadalkar May 2018
Nothing achieved, though a lot you tried
Each door you opened, said: Access denied,
Tired from the running 'for and from life'
You are buried under your falling pride.

Ray of hope is seen, amidst a fading sight
This might be the end of this scary night,
But as you crawl closer, you realize:
Combat is not ending until your last fight.

Now that you've given up on hopes
Lost in the darkness, in search of light,
Life wakes you up from the ashes and says
'Get up, till now i was only being polite!'
In the process of learning how to live, negative thoughts often cross the mind.

A NIGHT BEFORE EXAM
sarthak vadalkar May 2018
Starting to study
At 12:00 in the night,
So, me or sleep
Who will win the fight.

10 chapters, 10 hours
The statistics are clear,
Earth sees its apocalypse
And the end is coming near.

Trying hard not to sleep
And a lot harder to study,
Wasted so much time
As if were in no hurry.

Two pages are done
But that’s not enough,
333 more pages to go,
The night's gonna be rough.

Still 10 chapters to go
And hours left are five,
Amidst the chaos
How I'm going to survive?

Now turning the pages
Faster than vin diesel’s car,
Reading all at once
I'm a studying superstar!

Then trying to pray
To all new and old gods.
Wars have been won
Against the greater odds.

(In the exam hall)

Question paper be like
It was from outer space,
Somehow I survived
Making it a great chase.

After a few answers
And a long staring at wall,
Gathering myself,
I left the exam hall !
Not getting time for poetry as exams are going on, so i tried to write something about the exams only :p

Clueless i am about
How to react,
Heart breaking is every fact.

If fight is really between
The powerful few,
Why do the little ones have to go through?

SHE WILL FLY
sarthak vadalkar Apr 2018
She will live her life
The way she wants to,
To play with her dreams
Who gave that right to you?

Her feelings, her wishes
Why no place for them,
Something she wills to achieve
Well, it is not mayhem.

And one day perhaps,
She will fly, very high
She is a supergirl
But you want her to tie.

She will step out
Will go all around the earth,
Her sole duty is not
To give your heir birth.

She will give fight
And break every chain,
What she has faced
Wish you felt the pain.

She’s got the strength
She just needs a little favour,
You take a stand,
World will be better than ever.

SOLDIER
sarthak vadalkar Mar 2018
The he who rose above all the pain
The he who fought against all the odds,
When found himself amidst the inevitable
To salute him, bowed down a hundred gods.

For whom the nation was always first
Stood determined under the starless sky,
Rains of bullets couldn't **** his soul
He became immortal, as death felt shy.

Death of flesh that came with pride
Upon the red ocean his body lied,
To protect her, fought till his last breath
Seeing this sight, the motherland cried.
A little attempt of tribute to all the soldiers and real heroes, who always put their national duty above all.

GOD'S PLAN
sarthak vadalkar Mar 2018
When situations made me cry
You were there for me,
When i failed my every try
You were there for me.

I was happy, glad, overjoyed
You were there for me,
Alone, sad, guilty or annoyed
You were there for me.

All the things that I've been through
You were there for me,
Though I have not ever seen you
You were there for me.

Walking on this path of life
I have realised one thing,
There is some divine power
That makes me walk run sing.
Looking for the god all around, little did they know he resided beneath them.

THOSE WERE THE DAYS
sarthak vadalkar Mar 2018
Back when tigers used to smoke
When turtles used to run,
Life wasn't dread like this
It used to be much fun!

One night i had a dream
I was living in a fairy land,
Playing hide n seek all day
And making castles of sand.

As i recall the dream, i realise
It was childhood that i had
Each moment living life to the fullest
Not knowing what means Sad?

That attempt to find happiness
In the smallest of things ,
Willing to fly high in the sky
As dreams had the wings!

In the rainy monsoon noons
Having waters on roadside,
Used to make paper boats
And see them float with pride.

Recess bell when rang in school
We all rushed out with joy,
Laughed while watching cartoons
Cried when broke a toy.

This ocean of memories
It surely has no shore,
One thing always makes me cry
“if I had lived it a bit more!”
Thankyou for being involved in my small attempt towards becoming a poet. And any feedback or review is most welcome !!
