My Fear

you're there
holding, with gentle hands
breathing, with a soft pace
kissing, with tender lips
listening, with kind ears
speaking, all these perfect words
but i’m still scared to love you

Moving on for you was like
extinguishing forest fires
that represented how
wild and alive
our love was

And baby, it's no use
killing them rapidly too

If I could see the world through my brother's eyes
Perhaps,
Truths would turn to lies
And the lies, truths
If I could feel the world through his skin
Perhaps,
My wrists would burn from all the friction
Of the restrains and caused affliction
If I could hear the world through his ears
The names calling and all the smears
Would never fade, only I could hear
If I could be him for just one day,
Perhaps I drown in the gushing fears
O God! if I could see my brother through your eyes
Would I see a human or a firefly?

The surface of the water ripples
like little portals to another world
the stone sinks through
and then disappears

The water becomes still
the portals have closed
but maybe, just maybe
I can still get through

To go to another place
far away from here
where I have no one
and no one cares

Maybe if I got there
people with love me
I'll be happy
I'll be wanted

The ripples, a splash
is all that's left
swallowing the stone like mist
before everything disappears

Dear Daddy,
Do you know what these men say to me?

With their
eyes and their mouths
when I walk on the street.

With a grin and a nod
and a look up and down.
A wink and a kiss
and a cat call heard from downtown.

With my skirt short
and my top
low,
It’s a cold world daddy
and no
doesn’t mean no.

Daddy do you know
how these men look at me?

Like I’m a piece of meat
strutting down the street?
With my head buds in
and my favorite song on.

I’m asking for it Daddy,
I’m in the wrong.

Do you know how it feels
not to wear what I like?

To walk a little faster
when I’m alone at night?

Daddy the world is my predator
and I am it's doe,
Daddy what happens
when I can’t say no?

Dad, please don’t hurt me
It hurts my skin, leaves bruises
Thrash me not, oh please

Star light
Star bright
Sky full of stars I see tonight

I wish I may
I wish I might
Keep this feeling I feel tonight

Moon light
Moon bright
Silent silver moon I see tonight

I wish I may
I wish I might
Lock this sight inside tonight
Let's play a game
You will count to ten
At the end of it
Find me if you can

I'll hide in a place
I think you can't find me
But peek-a-boo!
You know exactly how I think

Count once more
It's my turn
I hear your heart racing
Found you in an instant

Lets go again
One last round!
Don't you peek
Don't you cheat

*Because this time round
I'm not playing
And you are not allowed...
...To watch me leave
But I wish differently...

Winged birds swoop from the sky
At the edges of light, tame and wild
Cecilia watched, I don't know why
But she stood...and she smiled

The sky was maybe a lilac blue
Like the water of a sea
A colour remembered fondly, you
Stood and watched with me

With your friends and with your flowers
Falling asleep in meditations
Beneath the arriving of showers
You held young orchids and carnations

Soon I beg for our departure, I cry
"Let us leave," I say to you
But I know my words do not fly
Nor are they a lilac blue

And so, I stand beside you, still
Underneath a sky, I admit is like no other
One day we'll leave, you say we will
But for now I sit at the feet of my mother

~.~

The music then plays softly, sweet
The notes you say you love
Looking up from my grassy seat
I listen to the stars above,

They're Dancing to a nightly tune
Above and behind your shoulder
Along with the changing moon
Our stay turns one year older

With the music and with the night
You teach patience to your child
None is wrong and all is right
When Cecil watched and smiled

With the music that's tossed and turned
You teach calmness to your daughter
All is taught but none is learned
With the Washing of waves in water

~.~

All at once the showers arrive
But your daydream has not slept
The lessons taught are kept alive
I promise -
In my ***** hands they are kept

Where we go and where we went
And the time we spend there
Now just sit, be content
The year will be new and fair
Written May 13th, roughly, for my mother's birthday. A first draft. As I read it back, it almost songs like song lyrics at times...
