Insomnia
Ma'ya Dec 2024
Maybe I stayed awake,
So I don’t see you anymore.
But is this an attempt to forget?
Or to remember you by.

In the Space We Left
Ma'ya Dec 2024
In the quiet hum of words unsaid,
We walk through memories, softly tread.
The past hangs heavy, yet we smile,
Two souls entangled, if just for a while.

Once, love burned with fierce, bright flame,
Now it flickers, quietly, but still the same.
In each laugh, a quiet feeling rings,
Of a love that once soared on unseen wings.

We are not strangers, yet not the same,
Two hearts tangled in a gentle game.
In silence, we find our truth, unsure,
A bond unspoken, yet still pure.

I watch the way you look at me,
As if you're seeing what used to be.
And I wonder if you feel the pull,
Of what was never fully whole.

In this game, we play with time,
Every word, a soft, quiet rhyme.
Nervous laughter, fleeting glances shared,
A bond unspoken, yet still declared.

Are we friends, or something more?
A love deferred, forever unsure.
But in this moment, we find our place,
In the quiet space where hearts embrace.

So let the past be what it is,
Let the future be a quiet kiss.
For here we stand, just you and me,
In the tangled threads of what might be.
And within the space we left, there was no closure. Years passed, and while our path meets again, old emotions stir. In fear, of losing you again

Broken Ties
Ma'ya Dec 2024
You turn away with eager stride,
Chasing the light on the other side.
Where voices soften, the hands grow still,
As you seek what your world can't fill.

A smile, a laugh, a fleeting bond?
The threads of love that twist and bend.
When ties you know, you left behind,
For something new that stirs your mind.

The past you leave, the present call,
And yet they wait, through rise and fall.
But selfish,  you pursue the night,
Never looking back at the fading light.

In time you may look, and there you'll see,
How much you lost, how much could be.
But for now, the chase feels sweet,
As you run through the streets that never meet.
Don't come back running to what you have left behind.

Sombre Night
Ma'ya Nov 2024
The night is thick,
By shadows deep.
A quiet hush,
Where my dreams sleep.
Whats once was ours,
I stood alone.
In this vast space,
Lies my unspoken tone.

The moon estranged,
Cold and pale.
Its silver light,
A fleeting veil.
Whats once was warm,
I found it gone.
Left with echoes,
My heart had drawn.
You are the wrong person, at the wrong time.

The Sea
Ma'ya Jun 2024
Your ship,
Is not mine to sail,
I am only damaged goods,
And you're not.
I am unworthy,
To aboard your journey.
So sail without me,
Following traces to your star.
Guided by the wind in your heart.
On forth and find her sea,
Away from me.

Our Eternity
Ma'ya Jun 2024
I'll hand over this flower,
Any day, any given time.
To remind you with,
The Magnolia in my name.

And,

The Magnolia in my hand,
A gift, yours to take,
The symbol of our tomorrow,
Our forevermore.
May our love,
Be as ancient.
As long lasting,
Forever be.
Like a Magnolia Tree.

I can’t
Ma'ya Jun 2024
If I could turn back time,
If I could turn back,
If I could turn,
If I could,
If I,
If.
If you knew me now,
Would you be proud of me?
Or would you still,
Compare me to them?
If you knew me now,
Will that wipe a smile off,
of your pale sickly face?
If you knew me now,
Would you still tell me,
That I took after him?
Knowing full well that I,
Take after you.

A new candle
Ma'ya Jun 2024
I knew an old flame,
That once burn bright in frame,
A passionate flame,
That put others to shame,
I recognize your spark,
Similar to its scorched mark,
Will you hurt the same?
Or will you be more tamed?
Answer me.

Leave
Ma'ya Jun 2024
Your love is one of unkind,
A painfully beautiful one.
One that I don’t want,
One that I don’t need.
I grew to hate you

You
Ma'ya Jun 2024
You
You are the scent,
To my petrichor.
The muse,
Of my beating heart.
The star,
For my lonely moon.
The sunflower,
In my beloved garden.
You are,
My everything.
I like you

Flicker
Ma'ya May 2024
Flick of a match,
A burning wick.
Flicker And it flickers,
A hot flame.
A fire of comfort,
Enlighten the dark.
Alas to burn down,
Last trickle of its wax.

What once was burning,
Now vanished.
Disposed,
And soon forgotten.
Just like us,
We stop flickering.
As fragile as a candle. This fleeting life. The people we know today may not be with us tomorrow.

Sun and Moon
Ma'ya Mar 2024
As the sun
Start to set,
In dusk slowly
He grew faint,
Hoping to catch a glimpse,
of his other half.

As the moon rose,
Lighting up the night sky.
In darkness,
She always knew.
A part of her was hidden,
Away out of her reach.
Eclipse do they get to meet,
Would they recognized each other?

11 September
Ma'ya Jan 2024
Lily of the valley,
Defined me by chance.
In irony,
I fell in love.
September you told me,
You felt the same.
We are together now,
The lily to my valley.
I'm falling.

Cold
Ma'ya Jul 2023
Kept my heart cold,
Numb in zero degrees.
Taught myself to keep it lonely,
Views of white snow.
However snow still melts,
When sunshine like you appear.
With my season changing,
I breathe in our spring.

Perceiving you
Ma'ya Apr 2023
The lovely you,
Flawless and true.
A warm soul,
That fend off my ghoul.
Traced your light,
Greeted by your night.
Lies a broken you,
Stood your distorted view.
Cold and cruel,
You made the rules.
Keep me deceived,
and tell me darling.
How should I perceive you?
Which one is the real you.

Lily of the Valley
Ma'ya Jan 2023
Lily to your valley,
Blooming so delicately.
Petite and fair,
Purity to your name.
Embody me,
The start of spring.
Embody me,
Your embodiment of love.
Twisted truth,
Lily to your valley.
Embody the love or,
Signify my death.

okay I let you guys interpret your own ending hihi

My Name
Ma'ya Jul 2022
A sanctuary.
Where flowers,
In bloom gathers.
So grow with me,
And I’ll keep you safe.
The meaning of my name can be described as “the place where flower gathers”. Thus became my inspiration of today’s poem. Hope you like it.

Sunsets and you
Ma'ya Jan 2022
Warm colors in the sky,
The burnt amber reminded me of your eyes.
A beautiful prize,
That I can't summarize.
As my gaze curiously wanders to yours,
Caught those gemstones looking into mine enticed.
With our sights aligned,
The sun kisses the ocean its goodbyes.
As the serene waves serenades the sun,
Pulling our heartstrings on a run.
As the dusk,
Melted into the ocean blush.
There,
Your rosy cheeks.
Brighter than any sunset,
Melted mine into a smile.

Hidden emotions
Ma'ya Dec 2021
Is it truly the end?
Are there ways where I can make my amend?
I held onto your hand,
Frightened over thoughts I can't comprehend.
Over our troubles,
That are overdue.
Breathing and alive.
The burden burns,
Filling my air with smoke.
Still breathing though :>

Shackled
Ma'ya Apr 2021
It started with a spark,
But burnt enough to leave a mark.

When the pain I endured,
Waited to be cured.
I was not in my right mind,
Where freedom is hard to find.

Had to pave an exit,
Not knowing I will even make it.

Years gone past,
Feeling free at last.
All the tears I hide,
Finally subside.

It seemed too good to be true,
However truly it never last.
Because they kept coming back,
To haunt me once again
Here we go again.

Lush and green.
Standing tall and still,
Longing for the sun.

Ma'ya Dec 2020
Fallen off a tree,
Brown leaves blown by gush of wind,
Conceding to fate.
When you are in the same position with the leaves. We have chances, they do too as fertilizer xD. So make sure you grab hold onto it when you have the oppoturnity. You wont regret it i suppose. :)

Interest
Ma'ya Aug 2020
Lavender,
Delicate purple hued.
Was never my favourite,
Until you pointed out,
It was yours.
I breathe,
In its calming scent.
With euphoric,
Thoughts in mind.
When did it start?
This addiction.
Now - feeling drowsy,
Enough to make me sleep.
I close my eyes,
Greeted by the sweetest dream,

Of you.
I felt like writing this after remembering an old conversation with a certain fellow. It was nice.

Ma'ya Jul 2020
Its raining.
Pouring,
Vivid flow of sorrow.

It rained too.
On that day,
Those spider lilies,
Bloomed on you.

Now,
Every downpour,
Is a requiem.
Singing your name.
Sleep well darling.

Out and point it at me,
If that makes you happy,
Just shoot me.
Endless arguments between us that never seem to be able to reach a conclusion, you were never pleased, Unless.

A fool that believed,
And on your stage,
I acted my part flawlessly,
The way you wanted me to be.
