We can be happy living with joy
Tranquility, and peace
Or we can be miserable and cry in pain
Cursing our own disease

It’s a choice to Suffer No More
We must realize we come and go
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

Why do we suffer, why do we cry?
Why this misery right till we die?
We live in ignorance, the Truth we don’t know
That’s why we don’t fly in the sky

We must realize the Truth that Pain is like Rain
It comes but soon it will go
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

What is this suffering? What is this pain?
What is this misery again and again?
It’s pain of the body and stress of the mind
Living with fear in vain

We don’t need to suffer, we don’t need to cry
If only in our face the Truth does glow.
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

Everybody wants happiness, nobody wants pain
We love the sunshine and hate the rain
Still we are miserable, still we don’t smile
And we just choose to whine

The body suffers but that’s not us
Who we are — first we must know
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

Messengers of misery, they want us to cry
Fear, worry, revenge, and anger stand by
They make us suffer
They make us cry and we don’t question, “Why?”

Because we think we are the mind
We live in agony, our enthusiasm is low
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

We are not the body that suffers in pain
Nor the rascal mind that thinks again and again
We live in ignorance of this Truth and cry
And lose our peace in vain

It’s a choice to Suffer No More
We must realize we come and go
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

We can be happy, we can rejoice
Refuse to suffer that is our choice
We can be tranquil and live in peace
For this is the choice of the wise

We must realize the Truth, we must burst the myth
This we must do right now
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

Accept the past, and don’t regret
What has happened, is now laid to rest
Yesterday is no more, why try going there?
Live in the now, it’s the best

Because we shuttle from the future to the past
Our pain and misery grow
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

Some people hope, what they want should happen
They live in stress, worry, and fear
If you want joy, live in surrender
Accept what comes, my dear

If only we realize a Power is in charge
Then we can tell sufferings, “Go!”
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

You can be happy, in joy and peace
Don’t need to suffer and do it with ease
Realize the Truth and throw misery out
Eliminate your fear and doubt

It’s a choice to Suffer No More
We must realize we just come and go
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

We can be happy living with joy
Tranquillity, and peace
Or we can be miserable and cry in pain
Cursing our own disease

It’s a choice to Suffer No More
We must realize we come and go
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

Why do we suffer, why do we cry?
Why this misery right till we die?
We live in ignorance, the Truth we don’t know
That’s why we don’t fly in the sky

We must realize the Truth that Pain is like Rain
It comes but soon it will go
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

What is this suffering? What is this pain?
What is this misery again and again?
It’s pain of the body and stress of the mind
Living with fear in vain

We don’t need to suffer, we don’t need to cry
If only in our face the Truth does glow.
Why should we live to cry and die?
Suffer No More! Suffer No More!

hell is not hot
if you think it is, it’s just because you haven’t been there
hell is like cool drink of water
but it gets under your skin
gets right where it hurts the most
understands your weaknesses
anticipates your failures
its always there waiting
crouching
silent

hell is not
anything you would expect
because the glory of hell
is to give the unexpected

What do we have left to protect,
when a reason ceases to exist?

go gently, gently, into that good night
i will not rage
against the dying of the light

the light is blinding
and i am burned
leaving forgotten, all i have spurned

hello Darkness, my old friend
please impale my two-part heart
with the bleeding tip of my black-blooded pen
that way, maybe
that way, we will never speak again

in that sleep, surely no nightmares
may come
that are worse
than the present one

send me quietly into that good night
i will not fight
the dying of the light

                            corners of mouths
when blackened eyes have gone numb
blood weeps out corners of mouths
when blackened eyes have gone numb
blood weeps out corners of mouths
when blackened eyes have gone numb
blood weeps out corners of mouths
when blackened eyes have gone numb
blood weeps out corners of mouths
when blackened eyes have gone numb
blood weeps out corners of mouths
when blackened eyes have gone numb
blood weeps out corners of mouths
when blackened eyes have gone numb
blood weeps out corners of mouths
when blackened eyes have gone numb
blood weeps out corners of mouths
when blackened eyes have gone numb
blood weeps out

Are we all
suffering?
Some of us suffering more?
Some of us suffering less?

Does being kind
to suffering
reduce the suffering
and increase happiness?
Yes it does.

Am I happier
when I am suffering less?
Yes.
Therefore,
to optimise my joy and happiness
should I be kind
to my suffering?
Yes I should.

Am I happier
when others around me
are suffering less
and are more happy?
Yes I am.
Therefore,
should I be kind
to other people's suffering
to make them happier?
Yes I should.

To optimise our joy and happiness
should we be kind
to each other’s
suffering?

In a joy-and-happiness-society
would every person
be kind
to every other person’s
suffering?
when suffering's luster loses glow,
when overcoming is never known,
what dreams may come from fire below,
lonesome moments, ever-boding,
misery imposed, for evermore,
glorious warnings from sordid war,
of freedom imploring,
indifference ignoring,
and discontent exploring our stratosphere...
measly metamorphs,
wearily forcing inaction forward,
desperately sourcing mortality,
fallacy after fallacy fall to their knees,
umpteen deviations,
outlandish iterations, exhausted,
accost me no more, mister consciousness,
for I've already given in,
just when my sin uncovers itself,
befuddled and bereft, at the gates of hell,
the self dispenses its painful beliefs:
that nothing comes without leaving,
remains we bequeath only provide what's conceded,
so seek what is needed,
impede not the other,
and love will muster from such healthy souls.
Kind of rambled on this one, but the pens just kept going.
Hopefully not too convoluted!
Thanks to anyone with the patience to read this :)

They are mostly elderly, frail, ghostly pale, lying there in their beds, comatose. Drugged out of their heads on painkilling meds, rarely with their mouths closed, though many with their teeth close. Tubes in their nose or oxygen masks for those for whom breathing has become too much of a task, I suppose. Totally oblivious to all those of us who have chosen to visit, just to be close. Lost in a world of their own, fighting battles unknown to most of us.

She had skylights installed for Him
who said let there be light, which burns.
Eczema, she assures me,
it is hereditary, only temporary.
Soft-skinned, she smiles

and cleanses the house with sage.
My airways are scorching,
and my nose starts to drip red wine
but allergies are commonplace.
I must have gotten bad genes.

She lines the doorways
with remnants of the Himalayas.
Stronger than sea salt, it’ll help
if you just stay in your room.
I ignore the urge to shower,

rinse the blood off my lips.
She prays with a hand hovering above
my blackened skin, she gives me
olive oil, it helps with migraines.
If it hurts, it’s working.

She tells me it’s time to fast—
Ash Wednesday’s moved to October.
My body pangs and tremors,
bruised as the bitten fruit in my hand.
I’ve never fasted well.

She tosses me a burlap shift
and my skin splits at it’s touch, her
explanation lacks this time. But,
I can have my clothes back soon—
After the priest is done here tomorrow.

Your semi short
Fairy dark red  hair
The freckles on your face
That kind smile that
Indicates that you're a doctor

I know I have a boyfriend
But images of us making love
At night in your office
Our faces and bodies outlined in moonlight
Makes me go into
A frenzy
With love and pleasure

Then it a disappears in a snap
Your a ripped from me
Sold to a wicked man
Living in squalor
Have you forgotten
I come to find you
In this sorry state

Learly of who I am
At first you recognize me
Then runs with me to back
To normalcy
Only to die
At a young age

They say that your heart was too weak from
Years of torture
But I know you died from a broken heart
