An unwanted presence is now tapping on the window. The sky has shifted in colour reflecting the imminent emergence of a dark and ancient being. I’ve not known it before but feels strangely familiar, I do know you but choose to ignore you. Your laughter is haunting. I cannot reason or bargain with you. You have a singular purpose governed only by pure instinct. I’m powerless to fight against something I cannot see. But you’ve always been there gently reminding me that one day we shall finally meet. Desperately trying to avoid you I lost my way and found myself aimlessly wondering a path surrounded in darkness and uncertainty. The sudden realisation that you’ve tricked me and instead of running from you I’ve been heading towards you. With each step the path behind me falls away, there is no going back. I am alone. I’ve come to the end of the road, I see you now.

There are mausoleums of empty space and stark,
White bones with shallow pools of water
Shifting over stone floors

The echo of footfalls send ripples down the hall,
The crawling, creeping feeling which up my spine follows,
To ask the final question,
Who calls upon the dead?
the third, and for now final, installment of poems from the AP Stats notes

That was something strange
what I saw last night,
like the strips imprinted on Zebra
it was all black n white.

I banged my hand all around
just to escape from that scary place,
dreadful darkness surrounded me
as the new moon was on its lunar phase.

Neither I could sense my heartbeat,
nor I could breathe,
that frightening air suffocated me
& my feet were shivering from beneath

I found myself in a cemetery
where about thirty dead bodies surrounded me,
and among those, one I could identify
& that was unfortunately me

I ran from that haunted reality
but got stuck inside a grave
I cried with my choked voice -
"Please save me, please save! "

My dead body was lying near me
& my soul started to disappear
But then I woke up from that spooky dream
& I was sweating with fear.

This poetry is just an imagination of an insomniac. I really enjoyed writing this horror tale... But i really wish someday I'll get dreams too...

Bring your truth not your anger
Though the alter take both
A burnt offering of words
As cinders fall
Off the smoking end of my tongue
The circle is drawn
You need only write your name
With the ink in your arms

I'm surrounded by madness

It circles around my heart

Corrupting it with blackness

There is no restart

The world crumbles

The ground beneath rumbles

The world has fallen

I am all in

My eyes reopen

And I realize

There is nothing hiding behind this guise

It's time for the door to open

The darkness inside

Is calling for vengeance

It's time they all died

It's time I come back with a vengeance

It is done

I became the one

It's time I disappear

Yet we're all a little mad down here

Sneaky, scaly,

They live in a valley

Slimy, wormy

Not worthy of taxidermy

Patterned all pretty

Not welcome in the city

They have no pity

Very nasty and gritty

Some have a rattler

The worst tattler

Don't even speak like a prattler

Natures guerilla battler

Narrow slits for eyes

Whoever is bit dies

They have no allies

They are an unpleasant surprise

Sneaky, scaly,

They live in a valley

Slimy, wormy

Not worthy of taxidermy

It's Exam Day

I think it's time to run away

Tests here tests there

Tests everywhere!

Scarier than spiders

Created by those insiders

Teachers, dreaded villains

I think this school needs some penicillins

Tests, such a virus

So undesirous

Infecting our schools

Making the smartest of us look like fools

Vile creatures

I'd rather cheer on the bleachers

Then have to take another test

They make me so stressed

Corrupted

Our education interrupted

All so the state can judge us

It should be treasonous

How I lothe exam day

This is a good time to run away

But I can't do that

Else the system will make my life fall flat

Shiver
    Patter
Pitter

Ombre colored
         Gout
           Pressed flush to bone

Hellions march
Witch tip
        To cat tail

Rift n eager
           Expectations above meager
Grammarly says this texts sounds dissatisfying

Ouch

So upon couch I settle
Lights ground to the pestal
Twill flicker no more

So no knocks at the  door
Happy Halloween everyone be safe! (And aware Big Brother is watching)

The fire burns through darkest night of all
A slippery wisp to bring the dull to death
The wise will tread through cold to reach a breath
Men speak of souls entrapped in nights of fall
Repeat the silent pleads of sons of Gaul
Repelling beasts of night and fiends eldreth
Who poison minds with sights of heinous death
Returning husks of man with bodies mauled

The beast will weep a tear of solemn grief
Its hunger stilled but eyes on guiltless foe
A heartless master villain; killing thief
The man no more but still his life aglow
It lays his lifeless head on fallen leaf
And waits for heaven's seed to start to grow
I've never written a sonnet before and decided to write this on a whim for a dumb Halloween prompt. It came out way better than I expected.

I hope you enjoy this nightmare you created
These shadowy figures in wide brimmed hats without faces
I hope that you can survive their icy grip

Why did you have to bring us into this horror
This dark macabre of your own design
I’ll hold your hand through this but I don’t know why
