We are
Bodies of snow
Windows of ice
Crying in the night

We are
Melted
We are
Thawed out
Endless
Vault of steel blue.
Clouds of gray hang low. Grave
Look. No smiling sun to brighten
The day.

I put on my black lace dress
because I am going out tonight
to enjoy the nightlife.

Lingering on the stairs
I ponder the night's
future possibilities.

My stomach starts churning
never experienced this feeling,
whether it be anticipation or reluctance.

The stairs seem so steep
as I climb the tallest
industrial mountain.

Bare feet are clammy
against the chilled tiles
of the terrain.

The breeze catches in
my lungs and I choke
on the sudden inhalation.

Stars are so much more
brighter from this height,
many different colors.

On the edge,
I'm ready to spread
my wings and soar.

My feet leave the sturdy surface
for the sanctity
of the skies.

Spreading my wings
needing the air
to cradle me.

Realization hits me
like the concrete,
these plucked wings can't help me.

She's letting the wind blow her crowning glory
Dispersing in mid air
Touching her rosy cheeks
Covering her tantalizing eyes
She is the portrait of aesthetic art

He just watches her enjoy the panaroma
His lips stretching into a wide smile
His eyes glow with a hint of adoration
His heart pulsates under pink skies

Silence is deafeningly astounding
When two hearts synchronize in beating
And that drum beat is all they can hear
When love begins here

i have lived under black skies, the atmosphere choking me with every star in the sky that should've burned bright but instead became dull. i have lived under black skies that were empty, as if it were a canvas lacking inspiration. i have lived under black skies and nothing was okay.

i have lived under grey skies. i have lived under grey skies where everything was frozen and good or bad had no balance. i have lived under grey skies that defied change, defied time, defied emotion. i have lived under grey skies that enveloped me in neutrality or, a better term, numbness. i have survived under grey skies, not truly lived, because i didn't care at all.

i would like to live under blue skies. blue skies that reflect in the color of my eyes, that makes every other sound comparable to music. i would like to live under blue skies that create a calming sea rather than a raging storm in my heart, blue skies that replace the red warning sirens in my mind. i would like to live under blue skies.

the skies are not blue.
ahhh this is something i just kinda came up with in a moment of sadness. i really liked it, though, and i hope you guys do too.

Dark skies of midday madness,
The world has been painted in darkness.
Moments ago, the carnage of day,
Personification of pride, ran rampant.

Outsmarted, outwitted, outmatched

Pillars of ego fall, as all do, to their knees.
Nature is less forgiving, she has grown bitter.
She batters and bruises, lashing with rage.
But is this not her right, more so her duty.

Clouds pour their thick mist across heavens,
Day light is of a when long forgotten.
Bless this fortune, this humility.
Rise, embrace the turning of tides.

Green skies
White sea as we’re by
Hot sun all the night
Please be right

When you're nearby
My heart get a light
My road get filled with it
Your delight

Open your heart, you know i’ll be coming back
Open your hall, i’ll be your fire breath
Give me a chance, i’m sure i’ll make you rain
Gimme’ your mouth, tonight won’t end today

Tonight
Lightning speed to fly
You can fall in line
I will guide

In your side
My days are bright
You know where you can ride
In my arms

Run to me, you know you’re not alone
If you want to be, come and be my one
You are my star, you put a smile on my face
You give me fire, you keep me amazed

Open your heart, you know i always come back
Open your hall, i’ll be your fire breath
Be my cloud, i’m sure i’ll make you rain
Gimme’ your heart, tonight won’t end today
Please, continue taking me away

Meanwhile
While i watch green skies
Confuse me, i don’t mind
Girl, you make me colorblind
To someane special

Hoping the horizon is blue
Even if it's disguised as grey
And that every day I woke up I pray
That on the seashore where I lay
The water will be as clear as day
And the trees will be as green as May
The sand as light as clay
And with me good company will stay
Even if the horizon is blue or grey
First poem of 2018, thinking about the future
