Magic evening glow
shades of dark colorful light
seen rare pearle clouds
Haiku # Beautiful sky this evening...
Mica Kluge Jan 2016
Shadows walk between earth and spirit,
Every black laced soul mourning that which is to come,
Whispering strange mysteries that kiss against my skin and soul
And fill me with foreboding.
Not for myself, but for all of those who wander in the darkness,
Fumbling around without a lightning bolt of truth to light their path.
I do not fear the shadows of those who once were,
Nor do I fear what is to come.
I am their voice.
What does a shadow have to fear from other shadows?
This is a story/poem I composed with a magnetic poetry kit.

She doesn't wear them
because it is sunny.
She doesn't wear them
to think she is vain.
She doesn't wear them
Simply because she has money.
She wears them
to shield you from the tear stains.

You pull down the blinds
To shun out the sun
Because you're too comfortable
In the darkness
Sometimes your depression is more comfortable than any other feelings.

It’s “then” that I realize,
When my friends leave,
That half of me dies,
Not at the door,
But beyond the locks,
And delirious drives
Home.

Come the other half –
The side
That revels in the quiet;
It slowly bites my tongue,
After sleep,
When I slip outta bed,
Crazed from dreams,
And even further by work;
Let me reside, the floor.

There’s no respite, no hour,
I’m annoyed even by
My stubble,
And the duty to
Shave –
Name me “lazy?”
Or labeled the animal?

I open the shades –
The forecast calls for rain.
I close the shades –
It’d ‘ever be night.

And after I’ve chased them out,
Something still and falls.
It’s not water, but rather,
Silent apologies that drip
And drizzle
From the sky and
Corners of my mouth.

They’re the “wants” left unheard,
In the form of unanswered
Voicemails, texts,
Email intentionally marked “spam,”
And pebbles echoed window,
Attempts “disguised” behind
Melody and
Resonant retribution.

I’ve always known how to
Push,
And now,
More importantly,
When to pull back.
If only I could
Drag
Myself from bed,
As this feeling’s “today,”
And it may not be there
Tomorrow.
I still hate people?

There is something beautiful in black and white,
For sometimes we need a break in this world full of light and shades,
We need something peaceful to feel we're at home,
We just need to hold on to a few things, greater things.

There is something beautiful in black and white,
It's like you and I, like us.

White sheets, won’t you dry?
Stuck to wire outside
You shake in the wind, trying to fly

Truth comes with a lie
You only hear the parts that you like
Know that the view ain’t from the height
And know that your truth ain’t the same as mine

Black boots, won’t you slow?
Picking up mud as you go
Dragging my feet further from home

Time makes ghosts of us all
Stuck in these pictures we haunt
We measure what’s real by what we’ve lost

These hands were never worth much
Always shaking and cold to the touch
Hollow bones ache looking for love
They bend and they break but it's not enough

But I’ve seen your grey skin
The way you stretch it, trying to fit it all in
I know that your colors all lie within

I know that your colors all lie within
Embrace the grey.
