I asked the rain
for healing last night
Amidst the mist of forest

It was confused
wondering how to clean
the inside of a closed form

My consciousness lifted
becoming spider web lattice

discursive fractal tree
spread like a blanket atop the forest

the rain dripping down my strands
unraveling  the knots life had woven

I melted and fell to the ground
to grow again as a Seed.

I took him in to all of my sacred places and
He learned all of the ways that I pray.

Our hearts met on one accord,
or so i thought.
Our bodies met, that much I knew,
And him?
He knew me not.

To his credit, he works swiftly.
Eyes like ice but his love was colder.
His voice; perpetually shaky but his
Hands were bolder.

I paid for his piety with the promise of
Always being aloof, always remaining a mystery and
He let me think I was his religion.

I was a lesser god.
He was hellfire.
We danced until the world burned.

Be careful of who you love, and who you let love you.
False prophets have silver tongues.
High above the Holy River Ganges
where the water flows like Brahman itself,
is an ancient cave, a place of sacred pilgrimage.

Entering silently, our small gathering
sat together, meditating here where the great
sage himself transcended in deep samadhi.

Wrapped in warm shawls, dhotis and saris,
eyes closed gently in the stony half-light.

Early hours had seen us awake, readying
for this auspicious day, and the sleepiness
of a little child began to overtake me.

With that same innocence, a childlike feeling,
I curled down into a woolen bundle, asleep
in the inner depths of that holy, dark place.

Sleep was sleep, and not sleep,
as awareness shone within me.

Limitless akasha unfolded inside me now,
and the ground where I rested expanded
into that same unbounded, cosmic space.

From far beneath the cool, damp earth,
a radiance travelled into my small frame.

Renewing energy suffused and blessed me.

Bowing in my heart, I touch the lotus feet
of Maharishi Vashistha. His darshan
shines on into our present day, and
throughout all of Ved Bhumi Bharat.

A flower sat deep in a mountain hole,
he kept his goals sacred and his petals whole.
They said he was a dreamer,
that had kept his feelings in and became a little meaner.

He was as nice as an angel,
well at first that's what it seemed.
Because he became a flower,
in what he wanted as a dream.

Then one day as he bloomed,
a fish that looked like the sky,
put a cast of magic into his eye,
and just as soon as death came apon him,
just like the wind,
you can never, ever predict its course.

I would not identify myself as religious, perhaps spiritual but if you were to ask me what of spirits I would reply: psychological projections, merely memory. So perhaps I am sentimental rather than spiritual.
I acknowledge all pantheons and can respect their traditions:
God, Allah, Brahma; their prophets, Gautama Buddha and so on;
But a god is a construct of the mind and the prophets were enlightened men of their time. I would call this belief Henotheistic Constructivism.

I do enjoy some drugs recreationally yet I also find spiritual elements to the use of some substances. Some people encounter these elements when they pray or meditate. I find it in the use of psychedelics. I see little difference in the method used to access this mode of consciousness, whatever you call it: divine, spiritual, mystical, religious, and so on. We are all looking for/towards the same state-of-being.

I do not discriminate between drug abuser and religious fanatic: both search for truth, propelled by belief, finding meaning in their seeking. Both drug use and religious belief should be conducted responsibly.
(I fear the apotheosis of an object/subject/prophet/profit.
I hold nature to be the only entity/concept worthy of divine status.)

I heard Isaiah call to say,
Listen to me in silence today,
Let the sacred light guide our way,
Isaiah called to us to say,
Listen to me in silence today,
In quiet stillness in your hearts,
Listen to me, don't let us part,
One light of God to lead the way,
For Peace on Earth, let us pray,
Listen to me in silence today,
I heard Isaiah call to say.
A thought from the Bible. Feedback welcome.

Oh I just wanna get out of this cattle call to life
Go into the store filled pastures that used to be the wolf’s woods
so I can be the sheep

and the peddlers wear the skin of my sacred spirit animal
Oh, oh
The peddlers wear the skin of my sacred spirit animal
Oh, oh

Once, I dreamed I was running from a killer
in a faux artisan grocery store
Just when I thought I was beat
a wolf pup came, spurred me on
and distracted my would be murderer

and the peddlers wear the skin of my sacred spirit animal
Oh, oh
The peddlers wear the skin of my sacred spirit animal
Oh, oh

In 1600 and something
they turned her woods to a moonscape
They fenced in the chickens, and when a wolf ate one
they put up a poster
saying she ate their child

and the peddlers wear the skin of my sacred spirit animal
Oh, oh
The peddlers wear the skin of my sacred spirit animal

tranquilize the heat
my body conceives
i am a sacred human being
not a functional machine
made up of cogs
and dependent body parts

i am more than someone
to just disregard

All that you are not
All those scars you've got
Will lead you to the end
Where I've been watching the world sleep again

Breathe it in
Forget our sin
Forget our spoken names
We journey to that sacred place

I've always been lost
A silhouette of hopeless indifference
I've always been lost
A burning darkness in the distance

You are a silver dream of mine
My only reason that seems to bind
Your golden grace bestowed on me
Leads me to a sudden peace

Awash in starry ocean waves
We've chosen our graves
Death is awaiting a single thread
A pale golden hair from atop your head

Breathe it in
Forget our sin
Forget our spoken names
We journey to that sacred place

I've always been lost
A silhouette of hopeless indifference
I've always been lost
A burning darkness in the distance

I've always been lost
A silhouette of hopeless indifference
I've always been lost
A burning darkness in the distance
Warm tears run down my face
The pain to great for my heart to bear
It breaks
At losing you
But my love is tenacious
And yours alone, my Rachel
I have caused you heartache
I have brought you shame
But know that you are sacred to me
A gift from God
And still, my love is yours

I am not yet complete
Not yet competent
Nor worthy of your love
Yet in vows now written
Unspoken
And still, my love is yours

My soul is wrenched from it's moorings
My mind now must face my flaws
No longer can I hide in false naivety
And still, my love is yours

Mark my words, Sweet Treasure
Watch for the day, My Beloved
For I will make you proud

*And still, my love is yours
I love you more than life. I will return the man you deserve, and the man I deserve to be. And Still Will I Love You.
