Lying helplessly in grace
Beauty buried in clouded thoughts

Stunning resplendency glowing in a thick fog
Eyes are the window to love
Character glues the hinges

Love me, love me your heart screams
Fear triumph in joy

The answer is the problem
Fake is real
Real is false

Lucky bird tweeting in the dark
Find solace in the echo

Some answered the call and fell
Hold on to your guns and hope

Till another echo reaches you
Lucky bird in the dark.

with ebony feathers being ruffled with the wind,
he perched on his little ledge, a morning routine.
silently, observing moments of the day
sitting unnoticed to the beings crossing below.
with their busy tones and headphones,
their feet making quick steps, never stopping to think,

he wondered.

do they enjoy missing moments like these?
as he pitied the humans who never even noticed
the little shadows leading, dancing at their feet
and the disappearance of the crow,
leaving only three tracks on the wall.
inspired by the mythological creature I encountered in a story, short and sweet to the ears.

Chained to good morals
a people lost on the journey to freedom

Foresight enslaved to greed
who reaches first- a prevalent goal

Radical Leadership
a matter of course

Foresight enslaved to greed
evidence in the body parts traded for power

A country crippled by peace
a people enslaved by oppression

Manipulative dependence
just plant, taxes will fertilize

Wake up to the voices of the clever
We sit by our luggage before a dead sea
deceived by the same people we gave seat

A generation paying for the sins of our fathers
shackled to the failures of our forefathers

We thumb print
signing our destinies over to fake prophets

Radical leadership
a matter of course

However long the night, the sun always rises.

Thought it earlier
to be a fairytale’s trait
yet wonderfully it is
tested once for good:
you do hear the grass
growing
when in silence,
closeness
and given-over presence
From personal encounters

I see waves
and candy-filled holidays
I see beach *****
and florescent seafoam
I see barely clad soccer moms
playing in the surf
with their children
I see Humbert
eyeing the teenage girls
I see the beauty
of an Asian sun
I see bikini ties come undone
I see predilection
and his friend, ignorance
I see the same social distancing
by the color of one's skin
I see newfound paranoia
I see the old pleasure
and pain
I see a broken whole
in a mere afternoon walk
on the shore

Welcome to
the empirical sand

What you see
is what you get
BLT's continued challenge- to write a poem using the Merriam- Webster word of the day, empirical.

Watch along the horizon line
Past the trees and you will find

Through the skies being installed
Every high and every fall

Cloaked until again recalled
Nature once again redrawn

Clear for all who look to see
Our collective mother’s ECG

Public places
now empty spaces
free of all familiar faces

But there is an upside
a turn of the tide
away from environmental suicide

Shifting towards clean
Mother Earth more serene
thriving more than I’ve ever seen
Inspired on a walk during the corona crisis

See
Some say sad eyes
which they surmise
must have arised
and been incised
by pain

Some say kind eyes
I prefer what this implies
Yet it still decries
What's inside
Yet again

I'm sure they may both be right...
But these are the eyes
I cannot disguise
These are the eyes
In which my soul is contained

So please don't see wise
To see them and apprise
me of my character, and theorise
on what underlies
For it is inane

If the judgement is a guise
and simply improvised
A means to advertise
interest or curiosity, replies
you can ascertain

if conversation you catalyse
conducive to exorcise
unjust judgements implied
by what you have spied (it wasn't just my eyes)
and arraigned...
I have been prejudged a lot before and it feels like everyone sees something different... I take issue with this culture.
