It's so warm in this nest, I don't want to depart
It's splintering cold out there.

Treated the plywood to be weatherproof, jigsawed to size base, sides and roof.
Applied non-toxic wood glue,
clamped pieces 'til sturdy and dry
not forgetting an entry hole through which birds may fly.
Took time with the birdhouse,
hung it snug in a tree.
If it will be used for the winter
I'm waiting to see.

Come Moroccan blue,
Wrought a Tokyo twilight;
The tangled neon, Guangzhou,
Ought London fog or gloom –
Entity’d ‘ever end with me.

So when gods plays jokes
Come a second near and nigh,
I’d nearly utter, “amen,”
Atop a belly, soon and son’s first cry –
I am a father; above, eternity’d grin.

So my plane kisses pavement, tepid,
Wrought one mother waiting; and
All I’d ran from, all abandoned,
Is now the only that’d welcome.
I’d never thought to nest, and yet –

Arrived, with straw in mouth.
Feeling like a reboot.

Whoever swoops into my heart next
please don't make a nest
and then fly away when you're ready to be on your own.
Don't use me as a shelter
to keep you from the drowning rain
and expect me to feed you
when nothing else is living.
It’s hard holding a home sturdy
sufficiently well for my aching soul.
The branches are already trembling
the weeping wind echoing
lost, diminished cries
of the ones who took off.
I know I push you away
when you get too close,
but this is where you fight to hold on longer.
I keep losing the ones I love
because they have not loved me
enough to stay.

College is like being a bird
You jump out of the nest
You have two choices
You either fly
Or you die.
Not really a long poem, but this popped into my head earlier as I was studying. It is so important to want to go to college for yourself in order to expand your knowledge. If this is not the case, then you will surely fail.
Well I guess I knew it all along
You were singing to another's song
There was no harmony to our verse
So bad it couldn't be any worse

The words just never rhymed
Our life steps were out of time
And the way you always spared
The commitment was never there

Well like a bird without a nest
A rainbow without the rain
I see it all so clearly now
I see it through the pain

All the secrets you withheld
All those pretty little lies
Every question never answered
Another piece of me would die

Like a lake without it's water
A glacier without it's ice
You'd go dancing around the corner
To see who you could entice

So like a heart without it's lover
A sky without the blue
I'll guess I'll be moving on
Trying to forget about you

So like a bird without a nest
A rainbow without the rain
I'll be moving on
I think it's for the best

You're the butterfly.
Dancing over my nest.
Yes I've stories for you,
to be whispered.
In your fluttering wings.

Go to sleep, Love, dive deep down into your wildest dreams and
find that stardust you buried inside yourself so long ago...
Would you take me with you? Would you let me run alongside?
We could race with our loneliest memories up Mount Fuji;
I just know we'd leave them choking in the dust, left so far behind.
We could build ourselves a nest somewhere close to the stars,
we could take a nap with the birds and whisper to them stories about all of our different scars.
And I know not all of my dreams make sense, some are outlandish and impossible to do.
But what's the point in living Life if we never do as dreamers do?
When in Dreamland...

Birds only fly
Because their bones are hollow.

Empty yourself,
Wings widening,
Weakly at first,
Soon little one,
You too can soar.

Lose the ground,
Gain the skies.

I was in a crossroad for so long and that wasn't easy
But things come like the moon that lights a night's so blurry
If I didn't care enough, if this heart didn't think of you
I might not be here to listen, I might not see the view
If I just want to escape and avoid the coming storm
I might not share my coat to keep you safe and warm
If I just want to fly away and forget the nest we've built
I might not have concern inside, it's so easy to jilt
If I just want to see myself in mirror with this smile
I might had walked away, as far as thousand miles
If I am just a person with no heart to love and care
I might just turn my back, leaving you in despair
But see, I am here, never left you all alone
I made it sure you're strong enough to stand on your own
Didn't you feel the care from me I was showing after all?
Didn't you see I'm losing now my strength, now I am starting to fall?
I have collected all my strengths and used most just for you
The remaining flicker of hope, can you even give me, too?
Let me spread my wings, let me nurture, let me grow
Don't confine me in this cage where I won't shine and glow
