A wall is a canvas
For my twisted thoughts to paint themselves
Into scenes of misery
As I lie there, staring blankly
I’m an artist
Painting portraits of depression
In the emptiness of my mind

Words find it in themselves to float around
In the empty plain of my head
Weaving stories of guilt and sorrow
In my mind I write epics,
Telling the tale of my own demise
An Odyssey, and I an Odysseus
But destined never to reach safe shore
I write poetry mostly when I'm in a bad place, whoops.

All my life I'd been starving.
This world offered me feasts after
Feasts but it seemed that even if
I swallowed the whole Earth
I'd still hunger.

One day a witch approached me
Promised me a magic sack,
That with the right nourishment,
Wouldn't ever empty
'Till I die.

All she asked for in return
Were descriptions of dishes.
Their taste, shape, smell, in detail.
For she can only eat
This way.

And so I complied with it, gratefully.
She casted charms, ordered me to eat:
"Just open your mouth, it's there."
Feeling groggy, I reached.
I felt it.

So marvellous, juicy, so fresh.
I praised that new found piece of flesh.
She smiled. "Dig deeper", she prompted.
So I'd broken my jaw,
Ecstatically.

Then licked the blood off my chin,
It was sweet and sour, just served.
How much further must I dig
For this feast's main course?

My beating
Heart.
Hello I hated these sessions they felt like interviews for her enjoyment not my betterment and I hope my old one's coming from her leave soon...
don't leave me with a note sheet, a pen, and
painful memories.

because i will.
i will write about you.

even though you may never see it,
and the world may never know it's about you,
you will forever be ingrained with ink,
engraved on the sheet's lines
that you crossed me.

And then,
...
I decided to swim till the waters ran out.
...
I decided to hold on a bit longer,
And then a bit more longer,
And then a bit more longer,
Till the end.

So here it comes to test my faith
Changing itself again and again
A disguise like no other
But carries on itself a negative rain

Everyday, it follows me like my shadow
Even I can feel its foul breath on my neck
Whispering tongues of filth
And today it tapped my back

A new test, everyday comes along
It knows my faith is strong
Yet, tries every of its ways to delude me
But gets leashes for its wrong

The pretentious predator preying
Eating away my shiney days
Clouding up heavy bags on me
And often does its own praise

I've tried to block its existence
By not hearing its sweet talks
Rather I chanted and prayed to God
While it did its pendulum walks

I stopped feeding it with my ego
And the arrogance I had
It was dying naturally, leaving
While all the negatives cleared from my head

They tell me to stop being so
negative
yet when I think about being
positive
it makes me even more
negative
so how come I can be
happy
but I can't be
sad
why is it acceptable to
smile
but not to
cry
why do we have to stay
strong
when there are moments we're
weak
and it's not realistically
bad
to feel
good
and
good
to feel
bad

They tell me to stop being so
negative
while they themselves are
negative
but little do they know that I find
positivity
in my
negativity

His cold hands grip me, I can smell his rancid breath, he smiles at me and says ‘welcome to death’

My eyes start to close, my mind goes all foggy or is it my eyes that are foggy and my mind closing?

The last pill still on my tongue, my head too heavy to lift and swallow.

His cold hands grip me, I can smell
his rancid breath, he smiles at me and says ‘this is your last test’

I stumble down from my bed, did I just hit my head? I’m floating above I can see all the mess. I can’t go now I am yet to confess.

One step at a time, a little shuffle forward, I reach for my throat and eject the poison his cold grip lets go, his rancid breath fading....

Words can leave you broken
Depending on what and to whom it was spoken.
Be it about your situation or image,
Words can cause tremendous damage.
So whether it comes from afar
Or from the drunken dude in the bar,
Negative words will leave you with an emotional scar.

Negative words will make you touch the sky
And some will you make you ask yourself why?
Some words will put your emotions in prison
For no justifiable reason.

Some negative words come at the wrong moment
In the form of a stupid comment
That will ruin your entire tonight
Thereby starting a fight.

Negative words are intertwined with vile statements
To mess up your beautiful moments.
Negative words can cause everything to go wrong
Special moments that can't be fixed using love song

So watch out for negative words my dear
Some words we'll try to bear,
from negative words, we'll never be able to escape
Not even in a Superman's cape.

Some words can elevate, some words can motivate and some words can desecrate.

Drown and bask in the sunlight
Forward unto God
He is sinful

Made for the weak man
He is a cancer
Disgusting scorn of prudent woe

Always showing up
Like "BurgerKing"
Uninvited, not liked

Boring and yet sublime
Where does the confusion end?
Does it include a "Happy Meal"

Pop culture is tiresome
Tripping and stepping into territory
That is unknown, yet still familiar

Why can't it end?
The division and condemnation
Condensed to pitiful morality

Each case moronic
In design and fashion
Seeking an identity

Plotting to overthrow
The status quo
Implanting the negative flow

Stereo is doomed
Electronic in psychology
Dead to the depth

sunflowers lean in the direction of the sun
although this sunflower leaned in the direction
of the warmth that came from the moon

the mysterious light that attracted the flower
not from what it was familiar with
a new experience and a new way to bend

--

although the moon sung with the flower,
pampered its petals with faraway words and
danced through shadows that felt so close

the moon was in the sky
the sunflower danced, lone
in its own lonely patch

the sunflower was the sun of its own
danced to its own tune, smiled, laughed
was so sure of the world and its offerings

but the moon had its own tune
a slow, cautious, steady, unsure
dance.

the sunflower thought to please the moon
whenever it could with its own light
to dance as the moon's stage and to love

but the sunflower could only dance
for so long, until a petal fell
from its yellow petal crown

the sunflower could not evaluate why
it danced for its love. it simply had
to keep dancing

although the sunflower knew that
its petals were falling off
and the sunflower had bent too far

the sunflower had its own frustrations
but the moon hurt wherever it shined
the moon's songs were so achingly
tearful

the sunflower hardly had any petals left

when the moon began to shine its light in another direction
the break is because it took until this date to finish this poem.
