You say I should go be happy
In a city far away,
And one day I'll be alone there
But I'm not allowed to stay ---
Because life with me is easy,
The same thing every day
Sometimes you wish for me to live here
But you would leave me either way.

My skin crawls in your presence now.
This aversion is painfully present,
deep-seated, inexorable.
My antipathy
I feel for you is
     pushing
back.

Grinding away the
rind of my rib-cage,
I will not let the disease reach my
organs.
My fragile lungs
my tender heart.

The veil of insects and filth
lifted
upon realization that it is time for me to go.
Weaponizing insect repellent
for the pursuit of freedom.

You’re just like a balloon
That I wanted so dearly
Like a child so amused
With the feeling and its hues.

One day as I watch you
As distant as always,
I didn’t know it was the day
You’ll be wanting to stay.

I’m the child, you’re my balloon
We’ll forever stay in tune;
I dance with you under the sun,
I dream of you under the moon.

One day you flew away,
Another child wanted you to stay.
You left me, empty and lonely;
Feeling the mark from your string.

you wanna have it easy
see me before you leave

have that time be easy
not hear about my pain

what's the use
of this abuse

to see each other
spark my love for one another

to go home
and feel utterly alone

you say don't think of what's to come
enjoy before it's done

as if it would ease
that one more tease
that one more kiss
that feeling of bliss

you say rather now than later
you are right

let me leave now
rather than you leave later

In eastern hill, the lake is murky,
sky wearing crimson colour flurries.
There're rumors of a mysterious sage
Who could answer many worries.
I find I'm crowded full of parting's feelings,
Alas, he does not wish for healing.

A type of whisper
A time where I could hear
A place that wasn’t so far
And a heart that wasn’t in fear
A home so full
And laughter so bright
We all wake up one day
We all have sleepless nights
A lingering feeling
From eyes such deceiving
A broken truth like never leaving

right outside our tiny refuge
lives a magnolia tree
strong and beautiful

blossoming only for a handful of days
we find its beauty in pastel colors so brief yet breathtaking
to be adored year after year without fail

only in the perfect spot will a magnolia thrive, your grandma says
how do you know whether you've found it?, i ask
you don't until you plant it, you answer
upon arriving home
i will plant a magnolia tree in a perfect spot
because like our little family's
its merit might be discreet and transient but reliably recurring

They asked me to not let go of him
They said "give your love a chance"
I waited for a year
Every day of the 365 days was a chance for him that he never took.

It’s OK if he goes
it’ll be OK if he leaves
I know he will go somewhere better
so it’s OK if he goes
....
I wish he would stay
I wish you, would stay
it’s OK if you go
but I so wish you would stay
knowing that their departure is for the best doesn't help the pain of them leaving
