There could be no greater Love,
No greater Truth,
No greater one,
than You.

You have taught me all things
Made me forget what I should not remember.
You have called me into more
than what I once was.
You are a God of love.

I want so many things.
But they mean nothing outside of You.
Fill me with whatever You want.
Steer my paths wherever You are.
I want nothing of this life, if it isn't where You are.
Search my heart, my God.
Wash me as white as snow.

An object's purpose is defined by where you place it
Place water on plants, and the plants grow
Place water in your lungs, and you drown
Which is why I can't help but fear where you intend
On placing me

Double sided

Your presence always accompanied
By the most dreadful momentum

You are gaining speed
You are losing peace
You are giving the lead
To a power that won’t cease

It’s cloaked in impulse
A body of desire
Though intention rests in its holsters
Pride is all it fires

Swirling beauty slow down!
Running too fast for those
Who can recognize to see
And those who can’t to catch

You champion hope by burying action
With action of the wrong kind
This version of hope doesn’t
Liberate, but rather infects the mind

Hope was meant to inspire
Not fuel a pointless fire
You’ve made your conscience a liar
Dragging ideals through the mire

Shadow-kissed
A waste of this
Inverting experiences
You won’t want to reminisce

A romance not worth a single ounce
Of the blood you’ve already lost
Put to death that with which you lay
If only you knew the cost

Why can’t you see the bottom?

I knew your wrong intentions from the start
I could feel them when you hugged me from behind
I could see them every time we kissed
I could hear them every time you said I love you
I knew.
And when you thought I didn't, you left
"You can't say I wasn't loyal" you said as you held her hand

Unfulfilled promises
Words meant to ****
Pent up frustrations, and
Bad intentions, with no good will
Strike with no hesitation
And rise to the top
But the higher you climb,
The farther you have to fall

I invite you in to try and re-establish a friendship we once had.
You come in only to re-establish a ****** relationship we once had.
When both intentions collide... We realize that the other had a different idea in mind.

Things just got weird.
Breakups are never easy. Can't we just be on the same page?!
T'was a diamond
    amidst stardust
  struck of gypsy's
    celestial adoration,
  crashed and sizzled
 'neath earthly intentions,
ultimate shimmers
     escalated upon
       fiercely impetuous seas,
each dappling
    luminescent wave
saturated of
splendiferous galaxies,
   bathed in heavens'
      stellar effulgence,
mesmerizing wanderlust's
    magnificent indulgences
Sometimes good intentions
Bring the worst of outcomes
We must take the incentives
Of dispelling ignorances
To prevent ourselves
From failures

Eastern towhee flits along garden edge
picking here and there
its movements assumed to be
intentional to casual observers
who imagine a search for food
or a gathering of sprigs for a nest.

Last night was a mystery;
a kiss, then a hug followed by a tirade
seemingly without a purpose.
Was there intent to hurt,
to inflict an invisible ****
deep inside her chest?

Cowbirds leave their eggs in towhee nests
expecting the towhee to hatch them.
The cowbird knows its purpose.

Unlike the bird, he seems unaware
that consequences ride
on the back of his behaviors
like mites cling to a wing.

He wanted to assert himself
to make clear his desires.
He didn't intend to wound her heart.
*One of my favorite writers, E. F. Schumacher notes why there is often pain and misunderstanding in relationships.   "…we tend to see ourselves primarily in the light of our intentions, which are invisible to others, while we see others mainly in the light of their actions, which are visible to us, we have a situation in which misunderstanding  . . .  is the order of the day."
