Let us be grateful
Everyday.
For everything that comes
our way.
For every little blessing  and all
kinds of times.
Let’s take life as given
and try to stay kind.
Through rough times we grow
Through rough times we learn
We will fall and learn to stand tall.
Always say thank You
That’s all!!

It’s important to be grateful. With gratitude comes happiness and peace of mind

Before there was you, this day made me blue
It was a constant reminder of a love that wasn’t true
But things suddenly changed on that one day I asked
“What day should we celebrate, and raise you a glass?”

I let out a laugh from utter disbelief
“I was born on the day that you look forward to the least”
I smiled at the fact that it was easy to remember
Suddenly that day became a little bit better

I found myself giddy, happy, and ecstatic
For you made this day no longer that tragic
Of course I am grateful; you replaced a bad memory
But I am most grateful for your sincerity

Along with sincerity, you brought comfort and care
Things I never thought one could just possibly bear
I was afraid to trust you, but you never faltered
No matter my wrongs, you were always still there

I am most grateful for you, yes that is true
You made this day bright, and no longer blue
If one day I am able to just show you what I see
I’d make you see how wonderful and precious you are to me

I wish words were enough to express every thought
But no matter how I try, they just simply can not
So let me just say this one final thing
Thank you for being you and all the joy that you bring
For an unexpected friend I will always be grateful for
Day ends
Night  falls
A dog barks
A baby cries
A mother with  tired feet
A father frustrated
ends didn’t meet.
Still  sitting together
Having a simple meal
Still praying together
Still thanking
For another day.

Life becomes a routine
That’s not a bad thing if you think about it. Finding comfort in the routine

... the fizz of a Bakelite switch casting
out dark in a storm - a hot scented bath and
the warm-dry robe I wear after...

I come here
to this island rich in growth
clear warm fluid
to catch its currents
and swim its nurturing depths
where I can breathe underwater
and leave traces of my darkness
to float like drops of ink
in a glass bowl.

These tropics
reside on the map of my heart
for me to locate
when covered
by layers of sand
in the desert
on gray slate days
barren days of lost inspiration
when I am turned in on me
and my tottering self
the me I see
on my pockmarked well-traveled and aged face
each morning in the mirror.

I arrive here
each time with a glimmer
a hope I can find
within me a point of light
some soft and pure place
a source a force
where I can rise again.
This site is a place of encouragement, inspiration and nurture in the midst of this ****** pandemic whose news has gotten me down, along with just fricking getting old. Thanks my friends for being here, for reading my droppings, for enduring my idiosyncrasies and limits, my peculiar faith, and all the rest. I love you. I really do.

We could learn a lot from dogs.
Not the kind of things that make up a curriculum-
nothing that could be graded, or pass an exam, but useful things.
How to be happy for no reason, how to love without diffidence.
How to grab life and squeeze out all the best bits,
of whatever scrap you’ve been flung.

I am embracing the visiting pain that dresses in different shapes. This time I know not to avoid it, as it’s here to make me stronger. It’s  here to teach me and it’s here to prepare me for what’s next.We are not supposed to be happy every moment, how would we  know empathy?
Pain, pain I’m here to stay
Teach me something everyday
Pain taught me to be grateful
Pain taught me to be soulful
Of course, always be wise and always be safe
Never stop and always your dreams you should chase
It’s always calm after the storm, after rain
In my cocoon I’m never afraid of the pain
Pain, pain I’m here to stay
Teach me something everyday

Gratitude is being grateful for what you had, what you have and what is coming.

Take nothing for granted because nothing is for certain, except that change is sure to come.

Be gracious, and forgiving because you’ll never know when you will need grace extended to you.

Be just and fair and never expect things from others that you wouldn’t do.

Be open and honest it really helps to share your truth.

But be patient with others and remember that they are on a journey too!
