My home is full of strangers
We may stay together
but nothing more
We are worlds apart
No place in heart
And it is hard
To stay this aloof
Under the same roof

I am a glass,
sitting full on a mattress,
ready to spill across
your linen sheets.
I feel your heart shift,
and it tips me.

I want to dance
across your eyelashes like fingers on a piano.
I want to curl those fingers,
twirl them in your beard
like ballerinas,
twisting and jumping
gently with grace
across the stage.
I want to be close to the city of your soul,
listen to the sounds
that echo off the buildings of memories.
I want to be a tourist of you,
snapping pictures and
standing in awe
of the landscape that is your temple.
I'll build a monument to you,
an ode to your good deeds-
we could fill a museum with you.
I want it to rain in your voice,
pour over me
so I can drink your thoughts
and grow toward the sun of your smile.
I want to reach down
and dig my fingers into your Earth,
fill my mouth with your soil
and let your nature consume me
while I consume
it.
I want to bathe in your ocean,
wash my sins away
while I exalt in yours.
I want to feel your ground beneath me,
steady and sure,
as I take this journey,
my pilgrimage to your heart.
The full moon follows me.
It glances by my window.
It awakens my room from the fragile
darkness, and helps me discover
the mysteries of every hidden corner
that surrounds me.

I'll cross the desert,
and climb the mountain top.
I'll sit up high,
and watch the sun
sink low in the sky.
I'll wait until dark,
when all is still,
when the moon is bright,
and shining full.
I'll write down a wish,
and burn it up,
then pray to the moon
to give me luck.
I'll coax her sweetly
to take my love,
to take it,
and give it right to you.
~ I think she will.

These lonely, driving nights
A teal blue sky fades to black
A dinner plate moon
Hanging crazed in the sky
I feel strangely full
Like I can go anywhere
On the fuel in my heart

She's inbetween the tattered cloak of clouds
On her pedastool, breaking necks on high
Full, with piercing white gaze she calls to me
The night sky bends, her light is will
As the smokey valleys of obscurities
Evaporate into thin memories of yesterday
Silent now, penciling away her secrets.
