I feel like ice - frozen
unmoving
Then the panic engulfs me -
terror
My body
My mind
My spirit
In Chaos
How can I break from
its vice-line hold on me?
How do I get away?
If I can't, will the world
crash down on me?
I am frozen in fear
Everything feels like a winter cold my body is
frozen to the bone the moon light shining
down on us the winter touch inside the heart
freezing the body to the core fingers so
numb you cant even feel a pulse the mind
lost in the blizard your legs broken from
frost bite and your will to fight on has
drained out from the body try to cry but
nothing can hear tears freeze to crystals
warm blood turns cold will to survive has
died out and you just lay there making your
last tears turn into ice just like the heart

Blue lips
Cold hands
Frozen breaths
Wind bitten cheeks
Winter is coming
Winter is here
And they said we have nothing to fear
Yet here we are
Half frozen
And no one listens
To hear our desperate calls
No one answers our hollow yells
It's all blown away when the wind swells
And all that's left is our frozen statues
Our lifeless shells
All because the world didn't help
They didn't try to save us
Just because it was "too cold out"
Perhaps a bit cynical or a bit dark or maybe just some winter inspiration. I suppose the interpretation is up to you. Love to here your thoughts

He stood quite still on the sidewalk.
Stood there for hours, actually.
Stared into another place that wasn't here,
wasn't there,
just sort of muddied in the two feet in front of the glass he looked through.
Static went crackling in the depths of his mind.
Sometimes a spark would jump from one edge of the gap to other-
and a flash of recognition would pass like a tankard barreling past a bus-stop.
Violent but brief.
He doesn't speak.
He doesn't move.
He doesn't anything.
It's as if existence put on pause in the self-contained universe that was his body.
Then, he walked away.

When it snows and the wind blows fast enough
that it doesn't look like falling anymore
just like static on an old tv.

And it sounds like a whooshing of someone exhaling,
exasperated after a difficult day.
There's the occasional wail,
               interspersed among these sighs.

Like someone had their heart broken.
The screaming winds accompany sharp shards,
they pierce exposed skin and remind you of that
fairytale.

The one about childhood sweethearts,
and the freezing of hearts,
and the rescuing of boys.

The frozen glass makes the physical pain match
the sad sounds which is an eerie
                     sensation.
Like nature wants you to know it's hurting and suffer
with it too.

When would I ever experience time freezing into the marrow of my bones and shattering everything I once was to allow me to melt into a new being.

did my promise,
my sincerity,
feel good in your hands?
did it sit well
in your broken heart?

did my desperation,
my lovesickness,
sparkle in your eyes?
did it settle your
twisting stomach?

did my nervousness,
my helplessness,
melt your boarded-up
and frozen, broken heart?
did it make you blush?

did my desperateness,
my constant attempts,
warm your icy soul?
did it taste good
on your sly smile?

even though you’ve
lost another one of
your leads, you still
refuse to play that
you’re in love with me.

Someone once told me
not to hold dry ice,
Because it's so cold
that it will burn you.
Isn't that strange?
Something so cold
that it burns the skin?
It reminds me of you,
and the glaciers you called eyes.
I held you for too long,
and was burned
by your frigid touch.

A wave of snow surrounds me
With a sea of ice below me
It's no wonder they never found me
Winter winds don't die down slowly

My eyes got caught, drawn to the way you walk.
Thoughts manipulate what I say.
The clock ticks, but there's no stir.
The World Is Frozen.

The ice of hearts, prevents the spark.
I'd warm it with my hands if I could.
But like time, I fear I would lose them too.
The World Is Frozen.

Nothing enters my mind, and nothing leaves.
A scene, us dancing, The light,
of Lake Michigan on our heels.
The World Is Frozen.

False words we've spoken, hearts ripped open.
We hide what we think, so no one knows -
what we feel. I can't breathe.
The World Is Frozen.

My heart stops beating, feet lose feeling.
I stand there dumb, hands numb.
If only I could speak.
The World Is Frozen.
