Beyond trailing triggers
a faint sad sound delivers
bringing my mind back to town
and memory up river.

Satchel and cane,
I am so alone;
yet, I was given a bane
to climb pines attain.

Opposite of the Lord's campaign
the Cold Pine cranes.
I saw the path to town;
Yet, I felt something arcane.

Squeezing my bag's belt,
guided left and right,
I followed the paths I felt
while the sound of distance melts.

The city of trees
greeted me with a breeze.
The solitude flew over me
bringing me to my knees.

I cast a secret promise,
among'st the forest, flawless,
that when I die
my body will become one with the lonely forest.

Old rings grow great
But the circles are less perfect.

Have to squint
To make the shape
Stand Stout.

Purple on black-
Looks bright!
******* on ****;
High as a kite.

Some mornings
Stay stale
As old cheese in the fridge.

Stagnant.

No matter how hard I stare,
Or how much I squint,
I can’t make the blood
On palace walls
Look like liquorish.

I cant make the holes
In my shirt
Look like button holes...
Find the perfect partner-
My hand in hand;
To lead me across this ravished land.

To make it feel alright.
Like human means human.
I once dared to dream of an Oakland beholder, whose maker held a misused, trusted scheme.

Your soul is precious

Filled with the sounds of the forest

And the crashing of waves

The power of an ocean

Crashing through your veins

Break the mirror before you

For that guileful glass will never reflect

The beauty beneath your skin

There is nothing inside you

That is not galactic

Take the splintered glass

And release the galaxies within you

Pinpricks of light

Floating eternally upwards

Into the expanse of deepening darkness

That settles over the Earth

Spreading interstellar light

Upon a stagnant land

Behind your eyes, a sun rises

Warm amongst a barren waste

Skies of purple, pink, and blue

Are better than sitting in the dark

Flowers bloom from within

They reap beauty and sorrow

From the darkness in your heart

Swaying with your life force

As it flows through you

Powerful wind whips through your mind

While the peace of a summer rain

Softly calms your beating heart

With a lullaby of raindrops

You have nature in your heart

And galaxies in your veins

And for this, my dear

You are strong

walking in a dark forest
Leaves crunch beneath my boots
the only sounds come from snapped twigs and fidgeting bodies
Along the tree line are staring eyes
People shifting occaisionly, not speaking
Just staring
They don’t break eye contact
Not once
I keep walking, holding myself tightly
Walking towards a light, but every step I take,
the more the staring gets to me
I try to ignore but then the whispering starts
And suddenly I’m getting chills
their eyes are cutting into me
Now I’m running
Crunching leaf sounds are behind me
As the whispering becomes defeaning
Covering, covering my ears
tears mix with grime
Breathing heavy
sprinting away from the whispers
Finding myself on smooth pavement
Heart beating rapidly but the whispers have stopped
Collapse onto the ground
in a pile of tears
But the stares are still there
just at the edge of the woods
Watching, emotionless.

Empty sockets watch the sky
Reflecting clouds in collected rain
Birds make nests in open palms
Fungus grows in grey folds of brain
Mouth full of moss, ribcage full of flowers
Winds taking bones to dust
Memories that time devours

Hazy forest
A huge, solid snake slithers
betrayed by the grass
Flame of the forest
Burns bright, envies not the green
Vibrant crimson blooms

Roaming auburn sea, broad birch and old oak,

Autumns bitter chill warmed by dawn chorus,

Sunlight dances in the grass's morning dew,

Buzzing forest falls silent around me.

Sharp, unseen eyes drilling into my back
,
From distant bush, shivering with movement,

One eye closed, and one narrows in on me,

A deafening flash, leaps from narrowed eye.

In my chest, dull ache builds to searing pain
,
Heart beats fast, time flows slow, the eyes surge up,

Tall and slender, out of place, there it stood,
Watching keenly with fixed gaze, poised to pounce.

As all who live here naturally know,

Avoid the slender beings, immortal,

Whose bodies or bones have never been seen,

Throughout the forest, they walk with no fear.

Crimson warmth dripping forth, I sprint away,

Through forest, thickets and farmland I flee,

No sign of pursuit, pause at ancient oak,

Strength ebbs from my wound, spiral into sleep.

Woken by twig snap, piercing still dusk air,

Those determined eyes, gleam in the moonlight,

Scan the treeline, ruthless and resolute,

How did it find me, called by beating heart ?

Running again, heart pounding, chest burning,

All breath is gone, the world spins around me,

Glowing eyes loom, announced by loud footfalls,

Ten feet away they lock with mine and freeze.

Heavy antlers burden my weary head,

Tired of running, i hold the humans gaze,

Arms raised to two eyes, one eye, narrowing,

A fingers twitch, a sudden flash, darkness.
