A fool who failed to realize his flaws, flabbergasted at the thought how he has yet to reach fruition; can such fallacies formulate for this long?

Even foes forge wars against such fundamentalism. But you, a felonious man, has no fear of anyone at all.

It's futile to fight such a closed-mind fiend of a man, fraud and fictive thoughts has already permeated such a mind;  for his ways are fragile, fruitless and foul like a dead tree of figs.
Close minded people are hard to communicate with.

I keep you safe in my heart
A special place that no one can replace
But I was a fool
To think you'd do the same for me
When you had someone else
In that special place of yours

it was silly of me to believe
that we stood a chance
but more foolish of me to think
that I’ll get over you in an instant

When is a fleeting stray thought
a senseless fool's distraction?
And when is my sudden idea
a true sage-like inspiration?
No weight of long experience
No number of tried and tested
No diet of **** it and sees
seem to give me true wisdom.
Inspiration seems a bit of a lottery.

All was quiet
the Lord and Lady retired,
courtiers all gone to bed,
the Great Hall silent.
Hounds slumberingly snored
next to the dying embers
of a cooling Inglenook,
occasional crackles popping
as the heat catches wood resin,
it splatters and dies.
A lute lays idle
amongst the mess of banquet
as a lonely secretive figure
detaches from the shadows,
prowling through the detritus.
Slim fingers pick up the lute
and gently strums a chord,
the Minstrel exits stage left,
to compose and construct
new songs and ribald stories
from this nights celebrations.
Retiring to his chamber
his eyes stare balefully
at an uneaten bowl of stew,
the gruel of his station,
a metaphor for the content
of a nearby journal,
closed but waiting,
for a quill rich in ink
to fill its void
with the musings of a Fool.

In my life I've made numerous mistakes
But mistakes you can often forget
With you my intentions were purposeful
My heart to you I lent
My thoughts solely composed of you
My time on you poorly spent
Indulging in your poison
Your toxicity, a paralyzing cement
If loving you were a simple mistake
The pain I could soon forget
Falling in love with you made me a fool
A sin I've tried to repeatedly repent
I've committed countless wrongs
To my redemption I owe my debt
For in my life I've made many mistakes
But with you I made many regrets

I hear people say severely romantic
things to each other.
I see them believe it as
their eyes swell.
I notice their desperate
hooks finding a mark,
any mark.

they begin to construct
a mythos immediately upon
initial mutual affirmation.
they design
every reason why
this 'other' is the only
'other' that
makes sense, that
could ever make
sense.

they enchant themselves
and each other.
they build
an elaborate simulation
together and
promise/doom themselves
to never leave it.
they swear and curse
to feed the pantheon of
gods they created to
rule over them.

they commit themselves
to the
chains of
a shallow love.

but hey what do I know, right?

I'm just
another fool
waiting to get
what he
deserves.

When you spoke
I listened to your words
And against my better judgement
Let them sink into my heart
And believed every single part

Call me naive if you want
I just opened my heart
Call me a fool if you want
I've felt it often enough

Well...that was just my mistake...
I should have read between the lies
Not sure if I posted this. Oh well
