It’s to cluttered
Open the window to my soul
Let me be heard
Detox the negativity that surrounds me
Keeping me imprisoned in my own perception of life
Drowning me in grief
This poor soul is shattered
Making it impossible to fix
Somebody please open the **** window
My soul is crying for help
Air supply is frail
Making it hard to breathe
Maybe a little laughter is what i need
A smile that spreads like sea
Let the light seep through the crevices
Breaking me free

the flame fell to me
in the evenings of starless skies
sturdy as a pine
red as my blood
(you are unbreaking
quaking)
my mother whispered nothings
into my ear
and i was lulled asleep in a pool.
the air quivers around me
i am numb to a faint
a sparkle dances in the water
i am afraid of it -
but i will swim to shore.

the flame fell to me
and i hold it behind my eyes.
hail Amphitrite -
the flame fell to me,
charming in the seas
and i will not taste the salt,

i will drink the fire -
as if the sun fell in the sea one day.
hozier - wasteland, baby!

she is a star
suspended in dreamlike wonder
i wonder where i can find you
covered in sunflower petals and hay
where in sunrise the flowers bow their heads to you
celestial bodies fall from the sky
drawn to heavenly presence
riding over velvet winds
i stumble and sail
Angela -
you are bloodied and disfigured
red from a soldier’s bite
the breeze bows to your sword in hand
as the sky turns ashen crimson
and you call out to the bodies
of the people before you
in declining crescendo
Angela -
you are a warrior
but you are cracked open
and i want to ask you if that hurts
the 1975 - surrounded by heads and bodies

Oh! The seas of negativity
Snickers, stares, and sneers
Lost and drowned, no opportunity
Trapped within our jeers

And (Look!) we swim and find our way
Confused when they get left behind
Worked twice as hard for no delay
Dismissed outright with (Never mind!)

Oh! Our eyes of pity stare
There with care, but not their friend
They not seen, only the chair
Proud to show the hand we lend

Yet they ignore those smirking eyes and brush those pity eyes
And proud they stand, work times ten: Knowing themselves the wise

How will you ever learn to fly

if you don't let your feet

leave the ground?
Face your fears.
Esther L Krenzin Mar 2019
Some strength comes from pushing
your own head
to the surface of the raging current
Without a helping hand
to pull you out
Some strength is in the form of fists
clenched and brimming eyes
unflinching
And some strength is in the
heavy silence
That returns at every crack breaking
across the surface of your heart.

I am strong. I do not need them. I can stand alone and forge my own path.
the prophet after the battle
he had to get a rest
he slept at the shadow of the tree

his citizens distributed at the place of the battle
they slept as they tired
one of the enemy hide away

he sneaked little, little
he took the sword
which the prophet hanged high

he put the sword toward the leader
he asked the prophet with great confident
who will prevent you, honey?

only one movement, he might **** the messenger
the prophet saw with clear and spirit
"allah" means" God, God" with bravery

the sword was fallen at nearer
the prophet took it and asked,"
who would prevent you? "at true way

the man said,"Oh! Muhammad! be the best taken, dearer"
Muhammad answered," go without wait"
the man returned with interest and busy

they asked," what is the matter?"
he answered," i came from a person, who is the best!
mercy means that do not punish your enemy as they want

Cold wet toes hug the sandpaper edge
of the Tall Diving Board, a most terrible ledge
But the plastic and rusted beams buckle and creak
Along with your knees-- they are feeling quite weak.

Everything's swaying, the pool and the sky
Your hands both are shaking and you wonder why
You thought you could jump.  It all seems so silly
You thought you were brave, but up here, you know really

You're just like they said you would be.

You lift you foot trying to face off this dread
right over the edge of the board, but instead
of stepping off, you move backwards.  And then
your other foot follows it downwards again.

Inching back, and hanging your head from the shame,
your feet grip the grooves on the steps just the same

as the last time you thought you were brave.

Then you freeze, and you frown.  All the kids gathered on the ground
could not stop you with mocking from coming back down

But your mom, shouting out from the shade of the sides
speaks to you louder than fear or than pride
"You can do it, I know!"  and you manage a frown
and a stubborn resolve not to walk to the ground

but to swim!  And you struggle back up to the top
the gritty board scraping, the phrase "belly flop!"
taunting you from the children below; and your brow
is furrowed, your teeth clench--the moment is now!

A sniffle, slight stumble, the bending of knees,
You know you can show them--don't belly flop, please!
and you push, one last time-- any time you could stop
at the edge once again, at the diving board top

But you don't!

And it's over.
A splash is your prize
your ears ring, your nose stings,

But you jumped off the diving board.

And now you can do it again.
