Resilience and fluidity
Dynamics and opportunity
Creations deal with scrutiny
Be it a pattern institutionally
It seems as though I’ve crossed my eyes
I’m seeing double in the rise
An overlapping look back, a recap
Into the process of reaction
Taking and making this enlightenment be deliberate action
Thought before movement
Yet the hand strikes before the words come to mind
Death before entombment
Yet the execution happens once I’m buried alive
Bombastic exoneration for an innocent man
Glory given entitlement in the palm of the next hand
Dysfunctional psychology followed because it sounded just right
Tainted cosmology because the stars are out of sight
Bless androgyny while you say there aren’t enough wars to fight
Put it all in a blender
Dao of the contender
Going on a ******
Fix the resolution while the answer is rendered
Corner the pretender
Return to sender
Don’t miss the splendor
Got a different diet so I have to change the vendor

Cut
I cut Guy's off like it's my job
I rather be hurt by u then be hurt with u
I rather put the pieces together then let u destroy me
I rather love me

Have you seen this girl?
Last night she sent me a text,
She told me how much she loved me and how much she regrets,
The things she never said and those that she did,
The people she hurt and those who would never forgive.
I see the way she laughs and the way she holds her tongue,
Too afraid to look weak but not strong enough to look numb.

Have you seen this girl?
She wasn't in school today,
I wish we had listened to the things she used to say,
The jokes she used to make about taking her own life,
And the way she used to speak about her dad's ex-wife.
This girl is important to me and to all of our friends,
Her family are waiting at home hoping to put this to an end.

Have you seen this girl?
She may not stand out,
But when you got to know her,
You knew when she was about,
Her laughter was infectious,
Like a strange bout of flu,
But her kindness was so precious,
Sometimes you didn't know what to do.

Have you seen this girl?
She has a way of capturing the crowd,
And even if people stared,
She'd only stand and bow.
The teachers called her trouble,
But to us, that was her middle name,
It was if she was in her own tiny bubble,
Playing some silly little game.

Have you seen this girl?
Her name may not be special,
But if you'd seen the way she smiled,
You'd know this mess was all worthwhile,

Perhaps you've seen this girl,
Or maybe it's really you,
For there's more than one girl in the world,
Who's felt a little blue.
Take a step and then another,
Into the unknown,
Because it is in the dark,
Where you will feel like you have really grown.

[April is ****** Assault Awareness Month.]

“****** Assault Awareness Month” is *******.

For 30 days you’ll wear a teal ribbon and hold “We Believe Survivors” signs.

But
Should I thank you for 30 days of ally-ship?
No.
Did you believe me on March 31st?
No.
Will you believe me on May 1st?
No.

30 days.
You’ll scream
ALLY ALLY ALLY
Believe survivors
ALLY ALLY ALLY
Support Survivors
ALLY ALLY ALLY
Hold rapists accountable.
ALLY
Bull. ****.

Go ahead and pretend ****** assault only happens in April.
Throw out your teal ribbons on May 1st
because it’s not ****** Assault Awareness Month anymore.
You don’t have to care anymore.

But I do.
What my rapists did is something I live with
335 more days
than you’ll care about an issue.

You don’t realize the ribbons you pin your bags and shirts are
smaller
than the
bruises he left on my thighs
But
you don’t care what one survivors thinks of you
so long as the world knows that
for 30 days, you wore a teal ribbon

Your message of ally-ship
30 days a year
doesn’t erase
your hypocrisy the other
335 days.

The name is karma
Or Elena
I am odd duck
And unique person
Like a fingerprint
Or DNA
I don’t like chess
I am not a computer
Nor am I cold hearted
I love art
Poetry,
Photography
Languages
And anything that life
Has to offer
I am human
Are you??!!

Dysphoria, what does it feel like?
They sigh, trying to find a single sentence for years of caged silence.

Identity: Female
Stuck in the wrong way
To me it’s a sense of nothing will ever be right
The feeling of being in extreme danger
Like you’re about to die

Identity: Male
All I can say is
This isn’t me
The feeling is a long and windy explanation of
Disassociation
There are things about me that I don’t associate with myself
And it’s weird and confusing
When I become aware of them

Identity: ****. A drag queen? Trans fluid.
Dysphoria...
It's a lot like,
Anger,
Betrayal,
An itch
Like a really itchy sweater,
You can’t take it off
And the longer you have to wear it the worse it gets
You start to hate yourself because
You’re the one that put the sweater on in the first place

They say we are ill
Broken
“******”
“***”
“Butch”

It’s not correct

When they say it’s their right to say those
That’s when I get mad

If there is no way to make the mind conform to the body
You must make the body conform to the mind

If they think it’s their right to tell other people that their identity is wrong,
Then they are ill and broken
They have no f**king clue
And I know,
I can’t tell them they’re wrong
Without telling them why
But I realize
Explaining this is futile
With closed minded people

Bathrooms need to change, Health care needs to change, Identification needs to change
People are forced to “pick one”
Trans-phobia shouldn’t be tolerated
Mental health care shouldn’t be because it’s a “defect”
Social pressure, Internalized oppression, Abuse,
Shouldn’t
Be
Tolerated
Politicians have got it the wrong way around
One in two transgender persons have experienced ****** assault
One. In. Two.
They say, “We don’t want men undercover spying on our women and children”
You think they are in there to spy or ****?
Name more than two cases in the last 25 years
Where a transgender person has sexually abused a woman in the ladies bathroom
You can’t
But give me five minutes, and I can come up with five to eight names of transgender people
That have been assaulted in bathrooms since 2019 started

But our Pride cannot be destroyed
It’s our strength
A feeling of belonging
A belief that we can change this

We are not alone.

We Are Not Alone.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
This is a poem written from the words of transgender people in my school. It is written for all who don’t understand who we are and all who wish to be understood. Please listen.

I think of you as me
I think of you my whole world
I consider you part of me
I consider all that you told
You are all I have
You are all things fab
You told me to be me
so I let you in
You enticed me
Excited me
I followed you till the end
You ****** me alive
toss me to an empty land
but I survived.
You're gonna survive regardless of all the pain and damage you might go through or someone caused you, you will survive.
