Dawn to each other, we overlap
A darkness the world waited to see

Now they wait, again, for another show
While I simply await your return to me.
He is my moon and I am his sun
In my folly I should have kept in mind,
The two were never meant to merge
An eclipse is just a show for the eyes...

And then its done.

Coming back into my body

Every inch of flesh

Building on my bones

Strong enough to run

Strong enough to dance

Strong enough to smile

Strong enough to laugh

Looking in the mirror and seeing myself again

Through clear, hazel eyes with blue on the brim

And I think to myself

My reflection is beautiful

My reflection is clean

My reflection is calm

My reflection is kind

My reflection is me

And I love my crooked smile

And I love my tiny waist

And I love my sweet hips

And I love my big heart

And the way I laugh

It’s like God is blessing my body
with a thousand kisses
every time someone tells a joke

When I feel myself

Coming back into my body

And even if I’m just some ***** headed, cherry sipping, Coca Cola drinking wildflower

Even if I’m just someone’s woman,

Someone’s daughter, someone’s sister, and someone’s friend

I can feel myself

Coming back into my body

Where I am free

'Asleep', they say.
Waiting for whatever is to come next.
Though, a crooked nose and
Scent of decay pulls you back
To this reality —
The one you left not too long ago.
Empty eyes lacking pigmentation
Feigns life and claims you,
But only I see it.
Only I
Hate the past tense.

Divert rain
into a well
of love
john Dec 2020
so last night i was kicking rocks at reality-
trying to flip the entire universe like a pancake
but the moon laughed at my fruitless toil
for the universe exists in paradox-
and in my night watch
i dug into the soil
and ended up on the shoulders
of our planet
watching
her inhabitants try to make sense
of imperceptible subjects
such as why
who has sealed
all things within her palms
to bar philosophers
who have made gods of reason
i dare to worship
existence-
to be smothered in the
beauty of what is
and is
with or without description.
and so i look inward to quest(ions)
which are themselves, answers-
as i am a universe.

No longer beware
Be aware
Be here now
Be clear
How?
Attend
Tend
Cultivate
Meditate
Grow
Flow
Don’t know
Don’t no
Just go
With reality
Perfect clarity
Sweet sincerity
There is nothing to fear but...
There is nothing to fear
There is nothing to fear
So be here, now

No matter what I do
You know what are
You know what you did
I say farewell to
My fighting chance
It didn’t matter in the end
No matter what I did

I sold myself for your life sentence
I carry the burden of your sins
The end was already written
No matter what I did

My branches are heavy
I’m not ready to start over again
Nothing survives the winter
Looking through the window
I hear the voices of my past
Laughing back at me
I will never forget
The wildfires

There’s no way out
I am a shell of a the person
That I used to be before
No matter what I did
I never had a fighting chance
I say farewell to my chance for peace

They are always
Watching
Society’s police
Setting norms
No one can reach
But spend a lifetime
Trying to
Conform to.
They are always
watching and
No one stops to consider
If in fact, they
Are just returning
The glance.

The excitement,
the acceptance,
that's what I liked about you.
you didn't judge and alway supported.
and when it came to ***?
You were the best.
You knew what was not said,
but I did too,
so I think this is the end.
