Who Is?
Shaun W Stewart Aug 2016
They don't see the scars on wrist,
they look at me like I'm a normal man.

Making me feel as if my life can change.

They smile at my suicidal jokes,
yet they know sometimes I'm not joking.

They pick me up when I trip,
and tell me not to be so clumsy.

Those people are my Hero's

So Far Gone
Shaun W Stewart Aug 2016
Don't give up your heart,
you need it to live.
waking up beside you...
what I wouldn't give...
Tell me your okay,
don't let me cry.
I'll hold your hand as we say goodbye...

Nobody Knows...
Shaun W Stewart Aug 2016
Nobody knows who I really am..

They see a heart of stone, I see a broken man.
Everyone wonders what I really want.
I look to myself and feel emptiness and tragedy.

Nobody knows...

Worry not for my sad self.
I'll stand above to shield from the rain.
Your bright eyes lift me high, your sweet voice calms my heart.

Nobody knows...

I kiss this letter, I say goodbye.
Don't ever cry on my behalf, ill always love you until the end.

Nobody knows who I really am...

My Little Anarchists
Shaun W Stewart Jul 2016
You steal my covers and leave me cold,
you take my food when I am not looking.

You mess up my books and leave them scattered,
you shove my clothes out of my dresser.

You freak out when I'm not around,
you wake me up when I've slept too long.

Forever you will be the only one I care about,
he go's  by many names but I call him Leo my beloved cat.

Innocence
Shaun W Stewart Jul 2016
Payment with blood,
opening wounds for passage.

Travel unto the dark,
selling one's soul to evil.

Bathing in the blood of the unworthy,
bound by evil ambition.

Sacrifice and judgement,
worthy and unworthy.

The world will change,
and so will my ideal of innocence.

Begging Truth
Shaun W Stewart Jun 2016
Where does truth begin?
In a act of honor,
sacrificing yourself for judgment.
Letting them know,
that your not okay.
Caving in,
confessing wrongs.
Telling that person,
you still love them.

Not a Hero
Shaun W Stewart Jun 2016
Your heart was in the wrong,
it stepped where only mine belonged.
You stole my angel,
my Lois Lane.
You were my best friend,
now your fallen.
Your Lex,
you lost a friend because of selfish desire.
There I stood,
clenched fist and black eyes.
One voice,
"don't do it".
"Your better than this"
Rage filled me,
hate consumed me.
"do the right thing"
sadness peaked from my eyes,
I'm no Superman!

Pride
Shaun W Stewart Jun 2016
Your emotion seems to only sway when I am broken,
you assure me I can be fixed.

Your eyes show more than just companionship,
they show determination.

Your warmth is soothing,
as you lay beside me.

Your love is all I need.

Your heart is the size or a lion,
even if you are not.
This is not a fairy tale or a love story. Just a poem of a man and his cat. LOVE YOU LEO!!!!!

Sea of Ink
Shaun W Stewart Jun 2016
The sea of life, is the sea of uncertainty.
The gift of charity, is the gift of hope.
Life is not written on a stone or in our hearts.
Life is a pen that never stops moving.
Life is the actions we take, the feelings we share.
NOTHING CAN TAKE THAT AWAY!

The Walk
Shaun W Stewart Jun 2016
Squinting eyes from blinding light,
warmth of the sun on my skin.
Sounds of Cardinals chirping,
breeze through my shirt.
Wind traveling across fields,
clouds passing by.
Walking the road,
living life.
Just came up with while walking down the road in which I live.
