Probing her
Jayanta Jun 2014
On my way to home
Every evening
I notice her
Looking through the window of the shop!

Observed,
“She is looking at me and smile!
Always stand near by the window!”
For no reason misses the time!

Looking through the window of the shop,
“Her sprawling look and smile
Remove all the exhaustion from me,
Pep up from side to side
With the dreams to meet her!
Talk to her!”

Every evening
I noticed her,
Looking through the window of the shop!

For last thirteen years
Every evening
I noticed her
Looking through the window of the shop!

“To-day!
Stepped up
Through stairway
Get into the shop,
With all the dreams,
Rushed to the window
and searching for her”!

Noticed,
a strained model with garb
put on there ....
..............................! “

Feeling thirsty
Tiredness encircled with.......
.........................
Trying hard to
Pull me
and reach home!

When it flows
It Moist the heart
and smiles manifest around!

When it dried up
Heart slice up with have and haven’t
and tears emerge around!

It is called marvel of head and heart
and hoard of past, present and it’s around
It is fragility to everyone
It is reminiscences around!

Life around water
Jayanta Sep 2017
We create conduit for water to flow
Water flowing and revive life
Life bring cheerfulness
Cheerfulness change the face of the paucity
Paucity blessed us to search for changes
Changes makes it cheerful and vibrant with harmony!

She had a dream to fly,
Fly to high!
Her teacher said that
‘Education is power and
Power can help in turn up the dream’!

So, she pursues it by spirit and mind!

All of a sudden everything change,
River spark up and everything trash out!
She is became alone
others are move away with water!

They bring her to their steeple
Now she rinse their cloths and utensil !
In secrete read the paper, what they discarded
But don’t add power
Only buried her dream under the dry soil
Soggy with her tears!

(II)

I want to grow
But they put me inside!

I want to play
But they tied me with armlet!

I want to dance
But they fixed me with norms!

I want run behind the butterfly
But they keep on plagiarize!

I want to count the star in the sky
But they make me sightless!

I want to make mosaic of dream on my slate
But they covert me to a string-puppet!

Now they want to put me in showcase
To auction me!

But, I have taken a vow,
‘I will break this showcase and
Built my own way to grow’!

At that time I was in my mother’s cradle!
My mother was flying away from the village
Keep me in under her shawl!
She was running through the forest
Climb over the hill
Cross the wet land.....
Want go far away from our village..

They are supposed to come on that night
And **** her!
Because   they liable her as witch!

My mother flies away from the village and
settled in rugged land in the mix of stranger!

Now I am twenty two,
Nobody wants to marry me
Since, I was bringing up in a witch womb!  □□

With splendid light and reflection!
In the afternoon started to be used up

It is a seminal deliberation,
Searching ways to
Cure our home!

Everyone demands,
“It is transforming
From machinosophic to ecosophic
Way of life!
It is transforming
From city to village!
It is transforming
From road to river!
It is transforming
From car to boat!”

In the wilderness

Unable to speak, share, splodge,
Nothing is there,
Wipe-out everything,

Waiting only for reappearance

Wave comes and goes,
without displacing its position of sources!
Spiral cascade the links and
interwoven over time and space!
Flow continues transect over space and time!

If you want go by wave its sudden and momentary,
But no one avoid spiral, in fact life is spiral,
And when flow interlinks tumble in the spiral,
It woven the movement of matter and life,
As you reflected in ‘Last Supper’ and ‘Mona Lisha’!
So, we prefer flow with spiral not wave!

The butterfly dancer
Jayanta Apr 2014
You come and
Surprisingly change everything!

You come to replace scorching aflame of daylight,
You come with thunder and wind;
Out of fear,
Tears come out from the sky!

We say
You are coming to visit your mother’s place!

We always wait for your visit
Because, your energy and plummeting forces
Not only wreckage but it set up the ground for creation!

We call you ‘Bordoichila’
The butterfly
Who dance and fly with vigour,
Distribute our individual wishes to others
to complete the progression for creation !

You are our adored sister,
The butterfly dancer!

We always wait for you
to dance with you
in the festival of spring!
From April to May many parts of India experiences thunderstorm.  There are many name for it, Kalbaishakhi, Bordoichila, etc. In Assam we call it ‘Bordoichila’ in our Assamese language, which is derived from the word ‘Bordoichiklha’ (the dancer who performed the dance Bagrumba, where butterfly movements are mimicked. It is a dance of Bodo community living in Assam). When the thunder storm   comes people use to say “Bordoichila coming to her mother’s place’.  Local people believe that thunder storm of this season is an indicator, how it will rain in summer; if it is prominent, there will be good rain or vies-versa”. This time 'Bordoichila'has not visited us yet.

A wave of yarn link to civic concern always involves you,
A hope for change always enforces you,
A longing for endeavouring cogent living always inspire you,
Your brashness for a transformation yields this long journey,

Query of a casualty
Jayanta Sep 2015
Philosopher once said
“Everyone is involved in constructing their own world!”
But what I will construct..... ?
Listen!
“At that time,
We are playing in the courtyard,
My sister cooking on Coconut cell
I was a fisherman, catching fish
( it was a world of imagination where sand were the rice
Leaf of pumpkin were the fish)
All of a sudden father’s voice is come in
He is running towards home from the field
and outcry “again it is coming, get out and
Let’s go to main road”;
My mother was almost pasty,
Elder sister pick up important things in a bag
along with some utensil;
In a moment all of we run towards the main road,
When we reached there it was full of fallow villagers
My father searching for my uncle in the crowd
and get him;
He took us to a corner along the side of the road,
It was small shed made out of plastic sheet;
Uncle said to ‘now we have to stay here until normalcy come down’;
We sit on the floor with my sister,
Mother and aunt both are crying,
Father is looking towards the habitat;
Water flowing in.....  everything immerse.....
Only the areca nut tree and bamboo indicates
Where our home was;
All of we are waiting for the moment to water goes out
This it is second time in the year,
Last year it was once,
Year before last year my younger brother was washes out;
.......................
‘Can you tell me how we stop this?’
‘Whether I will create my world far from the river or construct a wall?’
Devastating flood in our state sprak same question to everyone .

Don’t spoil them
be bothered for them,
They are our
Great care taker –
‘Randak’!

Don’t break it
They will be heart,
Don’t through it
They will be suffer,

Don’t spit on them
They will be infected,
Don’t displace it
They will become homeless,

Take care for them,
Give them a shelter in earthen ***
Give them rice and
They will shield you!
*‘Randak’* is a Tripuri word. Tripuri is tribal community, inhabited in Tripura state of India. Randak are considered as the god of protection and growth. When my grandfather starts his career
He was engaged in field to measure and tilling of land
To get return out of it;
Once he said, ‘my father use to visit river every morning
To gather something for the day”!

My father, use to travel on bicycle
From village to town in morning and back home in the evening
He fetches his substances to support us!

When I start of my own
Migrated from village to town then from town to city,
Derived sustenance,
Up bring all whom I care!

Now my son
Prepare to migrate from city to megalopolis
To gather gen, awareness
To make an understanding
and to  navigate  in the ocean
towards placing himself on a marked point!

In the memories of Alashree Basumotary, who was expired on March 15, 2020. She was an inhabitant of fringe village of Manas National Park and world natural heritage site ( inKokilabari area of Baksa, Assam,India).
Up to 2015, their daily life and livelihood was depending on NTFP collection from the park. It was mid part of 2016 Alashree lead five other fellow village women started their plan for alternative livelihood. In course of time Alashree mobilize and motivate more women and form Purnima Women SHG. Alashree lead the SHG as president. They started their venture of Chalk pencil production. In the process of pursuing their passion, they started new venture of dyeing of cotton thread using different natural sources including uses of leaves of different invasive plant. These ventures bring more secured livelihood to these 12 women. Their colour threads were used for apparel making, dress material production in handloom. Now all the SHG members are committed to continue the venture keep alive Alashree’s dream venture.
Purnima SHG was supported by Aaranyak( an NGO based at Guwahati, Assam,India ) under Manas Tiger Conservation Programme (MTCP).
I was personally involved with many of their planning and strategy making discussion, in-fact in a village level meeting where I was a participant ( as an associate of MTCP team )  Alashree and the fellow women for the  first time  share their idea of SHG formation and group venture. It is difficult to forget her thoughtful argument and desire to work together to change their own life and make bring delightedness to others.
Last we mate on January 21, 2020    (in a programme on “One Month Certificate Course on Value Addition & Marketing of Non-timber Forest Products (NTFPs) by ENVIS Secretariat, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Govt of India in Manas in association with  ENVIS Cell of ASTE council and Green Environment Task Force (GETF)),   where in a technical session  conducted by me, Alashree and one of their SHG member give demonstration on utilization leaves and flower of non-cultivated floral sources for natural dyeing. After the session Alashree jokingly told me you make us teacher too.
May her soul rest in peace!

It is the mother’s care which perks up us,
In our family and clan ………,
In our space and time…..,
In our dream, thought and prayer.. !

It is our mother..
Who edify us, ‘how to begin life…’
Make our life vivacious and beautiful!

It is our mother…
Who create hurdles on our way...
Pose limit to our greed!

It is our mother….
Who define way for us ….
Accomplish our need!

It is our mother….
Whom ……
We worship….
Adore….

We internalize to our brain and vein
To our blood ….
Soul….

Our mother lives in
Land… soil… forest… river ……………,
Even in leaf ..flower, fruit, egg……………
Everybody call her ‘Nature’!
In India we call her 'Prakrti'

Don’t know how one can able to make victory against this agony!
There is no colour in tears,

in this ocean of distress !
Only, every one can clutch the feeling of sorrow,
With a hope someday it will glide on to contentment!!

Why I write
Jayanta Apr 2014
One of my friends asked me today,
“What is the value of your writing?
How much you get out of it?”
To me,
“I write, because I know, how to write!
I write, because some thought comes to my mind!
I write, because I want to share my thought!
I write, because my idea - your idea
together may develop our base of knowledge and value !
I write, because it will disseminate our acquaintance!
I write, because I love it!
I never write for power, money or immortality!
I never write for gain, deposit and credit!
I write to open myself to others and to get every ones inputs!

“What new you talks about”?

Be careful
“Do not replaced nature from the frame
Never forget about identity of culture rooted in nature! “

It is a call for ‘social isolation’
to make ‘social distance’ far-reaching
Isolate the self and searching for self!

So, lock the gate from inside
And Lock the main door!
Confined myself at house!
Try to find myself in the space within!
Searching for the self!

Searching self in the gadgets of communication
Unable to find out the absolute self …
It is Relative!
Relative to space and time ….
At point becoming invisible!
Question arises
“Whether invisibility link to infinity?”

Now, it is started to rain,
Sound of raindrops on the rooftop
Remind me
‘you are not alone’!

In-between ponder on
  ‘Existence of infinity’
“An infinite temporal regress of events is an actual infinite”……
“An infinite temporal regress of events cannot exist”!

‘Infinite cannot exist’,
Self is not infinite
It is miniscule!

Then,
“What is about sense of singularity
Individuality, or self-sameness?”
Is it there!

It is
Confronted with question of identity
In the world where flexibility expected
As virtue and
Accelerating change transfuses in society!

It is the call for ‘social isolation’
To make ‘social distance’ far-reaching
Searching self and
Answering who am I?
