Oh black negus. Why do you hate me so much? Noticed I called you by your rightful title. Negus King, Ruler, Emperor Not ***** or ****** The derogatory term originating from the crackers, or ***** the mild disparagement softened by society made to think that it's acceptable. But anyway let's get back to it. Why do you hate me? Is it because of my full lips or my round hips? My low tolerance for ******** The way that my stretch marks are engraved in my skin? Or how the roots of my hair aren't so thin. Is it my naturally sun kissed skin? Even toned complexion? It just can't be my uncanny resemblance to Isis the Egyptian Goddess! So why not praise me for my natural features Why go on one knee for their paid for enhancements Should I react like Angela Basset in Waiting to Exhale? Screaming and shouting while my face is growing pale. But pardon my melanin I was perplexed by this darkness that stared at me in the mirror That stared at me looking in my lovers eyes and taunted me Smiles behind hidden hate they constantly berate my beauty But pardon my melanin My superiority is in my melanin Encased in my skeleton Our ancestors wouldn't like this They would not be proud of that colorism that exist They slander us for our features yet they list after it This systematic thinking has our men slandering us but they won't admit You continue to beat me down yet I am your mother. I am the fruit of this nation. But pardon my melanin So I'll ask again Why do you hate me? We are carved in the same beauty and without each other we can't exist I still remember the first day that we kissed but a few months later you left me for hailey in an unfortunate bliss Melanin filled girls I am here to say You are a queen never be afraid to be seen The brother that disrespect and degrade are absolutely absurd! You are not ratchet bitter or mean Youre a stunning melanin queen So pardon my melanin? Naw enlightened by me melanin.

Her eyes were the color of solar flares and the remnants  of super novae, eyelashes damp with Venus’ acid rain. Body in the curves of the Northern Lights, there were stars at her fingertips, galaxies twined in the star dust of her hair. Constellations lined her dress as she danced in the celeste of red ribbon clouds the storms created. She travelled across the icelands of Neptune though days never passed through the tail of Hailey’s comet, only sulfuric nights on Io.

The Woman of Virgo Supercluster
Don’t know what you want of me Why have you followed me, behind; leaving a trail to get back But you can’t go home again because I set a trap Illuminati in the eye Illuminati what’s the use of your body? Will you take me to your fairy tale world? I saw Orion making fun of Hailey’s comet I can’t compare I saw his eyes melt into the sun Never will he drift away in space anymore And one warrior shouts with joy his pride has fallen The trees don’t sway to my presence And the air becomes dead

Familys lost, I'm In a **** homeless shelter
I am a meteorite, sailing across the inky black space. Alone, but unfeeling. I know not my destination nor my origin I am a meteorite, sailing thru space I feel so cold. If I could feel, that is. My rocky craters home to none, but welcome to any; welcome, welcome all. Welcome, welcome you. Chrome future ships and twinkling stars. Orion’s belt, so far, so far. No such thing in this Andromeda I am a meteorite, sailing thru time. I see Hailey every few decades or so. But this year feels different. An end is coming. No origin, but an end; a location, my new home. I am a meteorite, sailing home. I am a meteorite, sailing home.

Another died, Still In this homless shelter
Hailey was my bread & honey, so sweet as ever would yield in darkness what spirit said; she enraptured lares and penates with Thanksgiving where clockwork sublime these snowshoe hares incorporated town yet made shortcake by rhyme where her tiara became a romantic kiss with Utopian dream she once set afar in her earthly presence, these ties of scholarly pursuit in her like bodleian unlocked charm and this game unfurled beyond its claim forthwith reform, this newly espoused ideology ever changing her today.

She is an elegant young woman And she writes beautiful haikus This haiku she wrote Had special meaning for me I began to really care For my therapist She was so kind and caring A wonderful woman Humanity would be lost Without women Hailey wrote: "Its so simple for a heart to break in two, yet laborious to heal." I agree, it does take time. Thank you for this Lovely haiku Hailey I reflected on the time I spent with her I am healing too I still hope to meet That loving female Companion one day I hope you have A wonderful day Hailey

Hailey's Haiku
Hailey girl, your mind unfurls like rose petals to bloom. Forgotten earth, your seeds are ready to fly free and burst. Their seams are clenching tightly as teeth when tears are stifled, sensitive to strife. Hailey girl, you're precious as a seashore's curl, in which to splash your hands about. They're cold from your parents distant words. Just let them trickle out...

For ~Hailey L~
At the age of five, I wore my ponytail high, Hailey wore her blond curls loose, And Cole wore his cropped and short. We talked about little things, And giggled at the sight of birds and squirrels,   We were free. At the age of ten, I was called ugly for the first time, Hailey noticed her dad drinking something like apple juice, And Cole seemed to like boys more than girls. We didn’t talk about any of it. And we giggled at our cartoons still, But we were still free. At the age of fifteen, I was taunted everyday until I screamed and cried, Hailey’s dad drank the apple juice more and started to use his hands to show power, And Cole didn't tell his parents about his boyfriend knowing they would scream, We talked about it for the first time, And we giggled as the ***** burned our throats. We didn't feel free anymore. At the age of twenty, I had written my story on my arms, But was okay for once in my life. Hailey didn’t make it to 19, Considering that her dad didn’t let her. And Cole got hell from his parents about his boyfriend and was kicked out at 17, Even though Hailey and me told him it was okay to be with a man. Now at the age of twenty five, Cole and me sit at Hailey’s grave, Drinking the same ***** we did ten years ago, Giggling at the small things in our lives again, And suddenly feeling free, Just like we were five again.

petals braided in her golden curls a downright hippie child chasing down the sunlight with her bare feet running wild spilling secrets from a wicker basket that i picked up one day to quell my curiosity amongst the trees that sway it whispered sweet songs in my ear and filled my heart with honey it taught me to feel colorfully and smile when it gets sunny i hope, one day, i’ll pay her back wherever she may be amongst the fairies or the leaves wherever she feels free

I suppose I should be a star-gazer. Expectant of everything, As the stars are mapped and shown To their place every night. But it seems as though Everyone has seen Hailey's Comet And I've yet to see an asteroid. Always waiting, waiting. Is it such a task? I place myself At every possible spot. Years and years pass - nothing. Just a glimpse, just a drop Of that euphoria of the first time, The first wistful look into The eyes of such a wonder. But it moves away from me. Every **** time. Seeing the flaws And jagged downfalls within me. I am just a simple star. He is the comet. Never shall the two touch.

Hailey's Comet
I have a feeling That I can comprehend In my deepest thoughts your are More than just a friend. I wouldn't want to Rush us now As love we explore But there's a growing love inside That we just can't ignore. I love the times we Spend together. We are comfortable And free. I think of you when we are Alone. I think of you and me. We have a share Secrets to uncover. There's more To life then we will both discover. I love you always. I'll love you when you're dumb, I'll love you when you're smart, I'll love you anyway you are, Right from the start. I'll love you if you're tall I'll love you if you're short, I'll love you if you're pretty, Or just an ugly dork. I'll love you if you're toothless, I'll love you if you're blind, Anything that's wrong with you, To me you'll be fine. My heart is opening up now, Unlike it used to do, I see the pain that's in your heart And sometimes I feel it to. I'll love you tomorrow, I'll love you today, I'll love you forever, And forever always. Hailey L. Sturgill. 10/12/2016.

My True Love.
When you write a poem It makes **** more real The emotions Come to life And you feel Everything All over again Tears resurface Anger bubbles over All that **** Comes back Into existence When all you wanted Was for it To go away Forever That's why You wrote the poem You wanted All the **** Gone Banished But writing it Makes it real All over again Maybe that's Why people Don't write anymore Maybe that's Why people Stop feeling things Then they Don't have To feel them Again
