Stretch it out

Your internal time clock says it time
You feel your self waking up...
Yawn, open your eyes just a bit to see if it's light
Remember where you are
Stretch out those sleeping legs
Throw your arms over your head and...
Stretch....
Stretch till you feel the muscles wake up
Wow...  Wow that feels good
Are you ready?
Let's go
Forget that, I'm going back to sleep....

Stretch it out...

Wake up, get out of bed...
Lake Sep 2019
call me when you get this
you don't wanna miss it
you don't wanna wait too long
they're playing your favorite song
can you wake up when you hear my call
i'll be waiting until next fall

The rudest awakening,
Alarm clock beckons.
From bliss to reality,
in two nasty seconds.

Early winter mornings,
an unnatural time.
So dark and depressing
is this great British clime.

The air is freezing.
The heating is broken.
It's to this Baltic *******,
that I am awoken.

Skin's hypersensitive
and lights are too bright.
Noises too noisy,
Take me back to the night.

Forced out of bed,
and all just for money.
But as everyone knows,
no money, no honey.

i enjoy my sleep’s nightmares.
i find them lovely
for they are the closest i come
to feeling like i am about to die.

disappointment reeks when i awake.
Yellow light peaking through,
I get to wake up and look at you.
We turn to each other and cuddle close,
nose to nose.
Lines of light strike your eyes...
I can no longer breathe.
Deep brown pools of chocolate,
I wander into your forest eyes and can't find my way out,
I'm lost.
They turn to coffee and then you are there,
standing in the kitchen, no clothes yet,
asking if I need cream for the coffee you made me.
You are coffee.
Strong.
Smooth.
Energy.
Warm.
I need you every morning.
It's hard to live without you.
Wait, not too much cream!
It needs to resemble your eyes.
My feelings about waking up next to him. Also he makes me coffee every morning.

I dream of love awakened,
Of love unconditional and unbroken
—All kinds I dreamt about—

But have I ever felt it in reality: Doused
In disappointment, I continue dreaming
—All night, all day, forever sleeping—

Of love eternal and enduring
—spared from ever waking.
sometimes, it’s not always so easy to dismiss the temptation of escaping into dreams. more than battles in reality, the one waged against unfulfilled desires can irrevocably tether someone to the safety of imagination with a force that cannot be measured or explained. it can become the perfect trap. it’s a deadly endeavor that many are vulnerable to.

to people whose wakeful hours are very painful,
it’s not up to us to judge. the pain you carry is immeasurable, and only you can really fathom it. however, you are stronger for it. give yourself all the chances you need in reality to prove it— because you deserve it. If anyone says otherwise, they don’t know better. only you do.

surprise yourself. and show reality who’s the boss.

in waking nightmare
she screams while awake

the color
of her eyes
bleeds out
with her tears

Pull me out of the threads
Like a ragdoll willing
Almost excited to climb the cotton mount
And fall with goose feathers down

Sacrifice a fruit on the alter of passion
But do not deny me this one little thing
This basic, simple, moment left
To let my head fall ever down

And when I wake from such a falling out
And my time spent surfing on goose feathers runs out
Would you bend the rules of time for me?
Would you unwind the clock with parts ferocity on the ground?

Because even if you must
I beg of you
I plead
Please don't make me wakeup to this morning now
Waking Up A Dream
Jay M May 2019
Disturbed by the sun
Brought hesitantly into the waking world
Hiding in the blanket
Shielding my eyes from the beams of light
Whispering to my mind;
"Rise, young one."

Waiting there
For my body to wake
Coming to the waking world
Almost in full

Rising from my cocoon
Slowly freeing myself
Emerging into the space that is my room

Stretching into the new area
A new volume to partially taken
Shifted from resting place to base
Looking in the mirror
There is my face
Eyes staring back at me
Shades of brown and green
Flickering from side to side
Studying my figure.

I got bored, and decided to try something new.
