Under an unending sky surrounded by flowers from ones own dream,
This is where I'd find rest.
An eternal rest for the dream yet remains endless and the night everlasting.
The world I see, feels so unreal, I wouldn't want to reopen my eyes.
If the possibility, the chance to never waking up when I have gone to find slumber tonight, it would certainly be alright.
A nightmare which is hunting me even whilst I am in full of my consciousness, a hell without rebirth,
The sunlight, simply out of reach, unable for my eyes to engage in it's warming, comforting, sweet grasp anymore, the moon shines bright.
Sound melts into silence, the city loses its colours yet the flowers remain, blooming in elegance, standing proud in the reflection of the sun's light which once again has overshined the twinkling stars.
Even if tomorrow were never to come,
I would not be able to care about it in any way possible.
For now just let me rest my eyes.

this evening..
there's no sunlight appears
the rain falls to the ground
along with memories created
but when it dries
memories will disappear
then everything will lose

Moment in Time…by Jessie 4/06

Close your eyes, stopping time; transporting self away
Existential experiences, mind wondering off to play
Look around, nothing moves, dissecting what you see
Embracing and appreciating all of what could be
Senses sharp, all five of them; tasting, touch and smell
Ears wide open, eyes are too; in the moment, is where you dwell
Arms out to side, feel the breeze, penetrate your form
Sunlight reflects and bends the rays, as if the air was torn
Birds in flight but never move, study while you can
Why we never see these things, is hard to understand
Close your eyes, stopping time, transport yourself away
See the things you never see, while rushing through the day
Past and future, occupy, all our space and time
Present, just a notion, resting on the thinnest line
An elusive little moment, compiling our very lives
A compilation of experiences, none of which of trite
Enjoy every moment; the next may be your last
Close your eyes, stopping time, and breathe your final gasp
I wrote this after watching a little girl stop in the street to to embrace a breeze
as sunlight's last rays
sink over the horizon
night's long shadow looms

Sunlight to me is not frequent
I live my life in the dark depths of winter
Days to night filled with the abyss
But when the summer visits
I miss the warmth
For I am too caught up by thoughts
Of winter past and winter come
Mister J Jan 2018
I can't remember the last time
I felt the sunlight kissed my cheeks
Feel the wind whisper in my ears
Breathe sweet fresh air in my lungs
Bask in the glory of the sunlight
And feel its warmth and light
Its rays that nurtures my life
And its warmth caressing my soul

I've been caged and left alone
Imprisoned in the cold depression
Left hopeless and chained to anxieties
To wallow in loneliness detached from reality
The weight of sadness impossible to bear
The isolation eating away all my sanity
Save me from this dreaded fate
Remove my curse and free me

Looking far out from this cell
Into the horizon beyond my reach
There you were, a small drop of sunlight
Glistening in the meadows
Prancing happily through the hills
As carefree as the howling winds
A bright and cheerful light
Which made me felt at ease

Every day you passed by
Unknowingly shining your rays on me
Infecting me with your jolly personality
Bringing hope to the hopeless me
Every day you set as well
Leaving me to the freezing night
But even the cold punishing winds
Can't take away the warm hope you left me with

It gave me the courage to take a leap
Break all my chains and destroy my walls
To stand up at the highest point of this life
And let gravity take hold of me completely
As I start to take that once in a lifetime chance
To fly to you and reach the heaven where you reside
Armed only with mustered up courage
And strengthened will

Heartbeats racing wildly
Reaching for that warm, bright place
The place beside your presence
Hidden in that highest heaven
But as I got too close
Both courage and will melted away
And instead of falling in your arms
I plunged back to that unforgiving reality

I guess I'm never meant for the warmth
That only emanates from your soul
I guess I tempted the Fates too much
They had to cut that thread which led to you
And as I plunged hard into the sea of despair
I could only look at you from afar
While I sink back to this morbid reality
That I shouldn't want what I could never have.
Inspired by the story of Icarus,
The Greek guy in the ancient stories that flew near the sun and melted his wax wings.

Anyway, Thanks for reading!

A soft cloud drifts across the sky
like a snow white feather,
effortlessly traveling on the breeze.

Light pierces the cloud like a needle
whose eye is threaded with
the fair, golden hair of the sun.

The shafts of gold ripple
like the patterns on the sand
at the bottom of the sea.

The faint voice of the wind
whistles in my ear, and the
small traveler moves on.
This is a small poem that was inspired by a writing challenge that I did in which you have to use certain words in your poem. I took out the bits that I liked and refined them to make this poem. Enjoy

and when the
fierce rays
canvas across

my face, I know
that loneliness
is only a myth,

among trees,
there is none
as benign as

the sun

the sun doesn’t shine
in my world
and i wonder why

maybe it’s because i seem
to write my poems
in the clouds.

and those grays, which chafe at dry skin
between intermittent

bursting, brief songs of sunshine
subtle shifts in the light, faces tipped up,
graced in its presence for too short a time

to lift a smile, although I

                                                          try.
