The winter's sunlight is cold
while we reach out to grasp the strings of light
threaded through the sky.

We glance at the ashened clouds,
patterned with tree branches strangling each other
to seize the free birds.

Isn't it true that
moonflowers only bloom at night,
for they're afraid of the sun's touch?

All she wanted was to get it right
All she wanted was for them to know
All she wanted was another fight
All she wanted was to make it so

All she wanted was one more dare
All she wanted was the warm sunlight
All she wanted was not to care
All she wanted was to have the right

All she wanted was a TV game
All she wanted was another go
All she wanted was to feel the same
All she wanted was a place she’d know

All she wanted were the words to say
All she wanted was on that day

Have you ever looked up at the sky
When it was raining
And wondered where the clouds stop?
Because you know
That somewhere across the world
It isn't raining.

So where do the clouds stop?
Is it possible that someone
Is standing right at the edge
Of dry warmth
Gazing out into the cold wetness?

Where do the clouds stop?
Is it possible that someone
Is standing right at the edge
Of where the water falls
Staring out at the daylight?

Where do the clouds stop?
Is it possible to stand
Right at the divide
One hand being hit by raindrops
The other being hit by sun rays?

Where do the clouds stop?

Have you ever looked up at the sky
When it was raining
And wondered when the clouds will stop?
Because you know
That sometime in your future
It won't be raining.
