Slowly I'll become that flower you loved,
A sunflower, a rose, a tulip bud.

I'll twist, I'll turn, I'll wilt, I'll forever be this guilt.

Slowly I'll be there, and slowly will I twist and fall in,
Throwing myself into the ocean where I can begin.

So shallow, so empty,
Is this all that there is left?

Slowly, slowly I'll be that flower.

Slowly I'll be the one in power.

Slowly I'll find a place where I can open my petals with grace,
Slowly I'll live once again.

Cautiously you will find me on the clifftop,
This time I'll be smiling.

This time I'll no longer wilt,
I'll be tall and strong emptying myself of that guilt.

This time the sun will bless me with all of it's hymn,
and turn your gun.

I see the sun start to set
Feel the chills numb my stem
Feel the life leave my leaves.
The reason for my existence that darkens once again.

However, I will wait, wait for you to find your way back to me.
I know that when tomorrow comes, it will all be okay again.
I find joy in you leaving as I know it gives me the opportunity to greet you again.

You give me the strength to be bold and beautiful.
"You are my life, and so I shall count the hours till my life arrives to cuddle me in rays of sunshine and tell me that everything is alright."
Sincerely, The Sunflower

you
you gifted me a sunflower
the petals were a hue ive never seen before
they had a glow brighter than the sun
so i kept it and rooted it deeply in my heart
i watered it and helped it grow
and one day you told me you didnt love me anymore
and suddenly those petals became dull
and the flower began to droop
i tried to water it back to life
but it was no use
i tried to pick it out
but it was rooted too deep
so there remains the sad sunflower
in the deepest pit of my chest
a reminder of something i no longer have
you
Her eyes were like bold sunflowers, so beautiful to admire when the golden rays of  light breached her eyelids.

I laid her down and whispered pretty nothings in her ear, sending chilling waves of arousal down her spine activating her senses creating goosebumps.

I could lay here with her forever as time slips away just admiring her picturesque sunflowers.

Her eyes contained beautiful greens and yellow as if nature hand crafted them herself.

Her eyes where like exquisite sunflowers, so beautiful to admire when the golden rays of light breached her eyelids.
I’ve been feeling down lately;
Shrinking into a lowly position.
I’ve been sinking lately;
Falling deep into the Earth.
A sacrificial burial, my roots are
The crypt descending into dirt.

Face to the sun every morning,
My circadian rhythm
Reminds me of my daily rebirth.
Like the sunflower, the light
Is my compass, these feet are my
Anchors, these arms reaching branches.

I would give you
This whole field
Of sunflowers
Only if you haven't
Left me there
All by myself.
I was ready to give you my all. It was the brightest of days but that's when you left me hanging.

just as flowers
grow in the direction of
the sun
you shouldn't hide from
the good either
look at the bright sight of life

just like sunflowers
contort themselves
to face the sun
perhaps i am capable of the same,
stretching myself
to feel your presence
your soul sustaining me
like the flowers feed the bees.

of all the vibrant colors
yellow had been invisible to me
all the other had gone withered
but yellow breathe back life into thee
and I, a sunflower with a brown center
had never noticed the yellow in me
I am shining in the amidst of lonely winter!
my petals have endured strong winds
now I can see, I am stronger than ever,
no extreme weather shall defeat me;
for I am not just a flower
I am a mighty sunflower, I will not wither.
