Perdue Poems Apr 2019
How many of humankind
think ourselves seeds growing in the dirt
certain showers will pour praise from the heavens
"nurture us, provide for us, acknowledge us !" we demand
yet we seem to forget the work of the seed in the land
so tough, so hard, so determined is the seed
that it breaks the barriers set in dirt
but do we?
do we work?
or do we sit in the Earth
questioning why the sun hasn't shined upon our face
wondering when dirt will push up our pedestal to the surface
I don't know if it's very obvious, but the poem itself is supposed to look like a tree! Hope you enjoyed

BEHOLD!
You are in the presence of power.
Shaken from the core,
A young seed observes
Grown aged trees
And marvels at their branches
Spread all over wide
Like wings!
Casting their shadows over her bud
As their fruits grow and ripen
And drop like bombs
Thud!
Thud!
THUD!

The soil whispers:
“You have two choices;
Aspire to inspire!
Go and grow!
Or sink deep
Into the void
And cry
From down below.”

A root bursts out
And the seed clings to the soil.
“Uplift me!” She begs,
“Don’t leave me here to spoil!”
Sometimes we are intimidated by the success of others and forget that they were once just like you.

I will silently watch
my love seed grow
inside heart.
It’s incubated by breath,
and smiles collected everyday.
It expands with footsteps of dance
even when clouds appear.
For grey formations bring rain
they water love seed
and make it blossom divinely
for all the world to see.
It’s only through the heart that one can gain wisdom divine;
For love not words (from thinking)
makes peacefulness grow
so ego becomes dormant
and can’t not rear its ugly head.

Stones and Seeds -
Whatever you hold,
lay them down
and unfold your empty hands

A collection of atoms falls upon water, grass and air. Interwoven by light and by sound.
A woman gathers the atoms together and drinks them, eats them and inhales them into her lungs.
She breathes out a seed, a small seed no bigger than the point of a pin.
Using her hands she digs into the earth, and then plants the seed deep into the earth's crust, covering over it with the dug out soil.
She snatches a sleeping soul out of heaven, his old memories fade away as the new ones stretch over him.
The first new memory is of him shouldering his way out of the crust, breaking out to find the light. He is met with the kiss of sunlight, he cries out, and in return a breast cries milk for him, silencing his cries.
The world is a blur to him, a blur of light and motion, but eventually it comes into focus, and for a first time he sees a face come through the light. It is a beautiful face that shines brighter than the light that surrounds it, a face he would come to call his mother.

Your partner sees me as forbidden soil
For us both this causes inner turmoil
The rain brings but a small appetizer
Compared to what you store down under

Bring your seed a little closer
To avoid showing her
Our true love she can't withhold
Only you could be so bold

Reveal your untold love
Let me yield your seed
That they may grow above
That which makes you seethe

When our children finish growing
Time it will be for the sowing
More seeds will come, bring me more
For this act, you I will adore

Looking back when
Your next of kin
Could commit no sin

I sought out women
and their respective men
To their relationship I would rend
Their love they could never defend

But for you I withdraw my need
For your creative seed
Dropping down upon one knee
For all the guests to see

Not a ring I propose
But my mouth for them toes
Finally found my muse
True love, for me, comes in twos
Get HACKED brudda

You were born a seed,
tiny and weak.
Planted in soil,
dark, lonely and cold.
Mind filled with thoughts,
tears flowing, watering each quote.
You'll start to grow,
you'll learn to stand,
and feel the warm sun touch your hand.
Your leaves will drive you
to all that's worse,
then you'll bloom as a flower
with the power of words.
