The mischievous Orange cat (is it really orange?) gives me that look, that kinda look that says "oh you can understand me huh?"
All of a sudden the trees lean in and look me directly in the face with that ancient glare of wisdom.
Wait.
The pond.
The pond fairies emerge from their hiding place to give their greetings as the sun shines down on their home.
Aaaannnd the enthusiastic dog jumps in to play but scared them away.
Wow, the mud is really good at massaging my feet.
Is that hill breathing???
This poem came out of me when I was remembering a psychedelic experience I had at a dog park. :)
Trickles in the pond
Did a rose or a stone cause it?
Night too dark
For naked eyes
Strained futility.

Your wilderness sings so foreign
Words and melodies blend
As all victims do
In their final, eternal mattress.

The ripples in my pond
Build and crash
Where and when did this collapse begin
Will I find shelter, home or solace
Lost out here?

Silver light spills to the rocks below,
Gleaming, glittering, glistening,
Beneath the still pond water.

~

Glossed scales revel in the silver,
Rising from the water in a leaping dance,
Shimmering, sparkling, shining,
Beneath the celestial light.

~

Only to drop back,
Beneath the rippling pond water.

Caught in my own thoughts

Lost in this brutal silence

I feel these sharp words, cut through my heart

Walking around these loud streets,
Feels like walking around a dark forest,
Or perhaps a heart drowning in a pond filled with mud

I am looking for something,
Searching for something,
Something that is not easily found,
Something that is not easily described,
Something that is not easily put in words,
Something that is felt,
Something that is said by many,
But meant by few

Blue, blue
Everblue
Tearing earth asunder
As  a dear friend who I am
Some might call me water.

Blue, blue
Everblue
Look, oh look at me!
Home to plants and fish alike
Some would call me sea

Blue, blue
Everblue
Earth has me in bonds
Bugs across my surface skim
I am called a pond.

Blue, blue
Everblue
'Cross country like a sliver
Tossing, swerving, bubbling, laughing
I was named a river.

Blue, blue
Everblue
Cover me in love.
Boats and fins across me swim.
I am called a cove.
I wrote this a long time ago, and just now found it again. Haha

It’s Cold!
Giggles,
There’s nerves on my feet!
Water on my toes, hot sun on my head,
Tell me tales of river beasts, to chill the blood of mothers

A coy fish in a pond with nowhere to swim nor splash. The clear water allowed him to see in all four directions, though there was nothing to catch the eye but four concrete walls and bunches of lily pads.

A tiny spectator circled the grass surrounding the pond. She looked as though she were only 5 years old. A second later she was hastily ripping a lily pad from its roots. Upon discovering no magic beneath its belly, she dropped it and began on her way.

The lifeless plant rested at the ponds edge for weeks before the wind carried it back to its place. It was somehow different now, wrinkled and stretched at the stem, though it floated uniform among the rest. The coy hid in the shadows created by the walls, and watched.

My duck pond polluted with human filth,
Old grizzly pidgins flock to eat the disease,
It shows in their mottled grey and brown feathers,

My little duck sits on a rock and cleans.
Wondering...
Where oh where has my baby gone!

Sickened with sadness I can stand it no longer.
