Through me
A cause
Resource

Deny them
Corrupt
Without appeal

Ragged hammer
Skull
Breaking dawn
Something personal.

The dirt still knows you and me as it squirms under our toes, and the old bells up the steeple of the forgotten chapels resting behind the hills sing tarnished songs of friends we loved and lost.

Ancient rivers, our hide away, under our confidante, the shifting sky, our secrets lingering there still with faithful boulders that cushioned us.

We were arms that cradled each other while we set to walk on a wire stretching from our innocence to our dreams against the gusting wind and blowing doubt.

At times we made it and saw storms retreat and run for cover, and other times we smile bruised and wounded grateful for the lessons we have learned.

Down by the river, where the world is hushed, and shadows draw sharp breaths and bite down ******* us with their gaze, you'll find me nailed to time awaiting your return before the dusk descends, I pray.

Make haste, find your way back to the place we’ve seen eternity, and where tomorrow talks to us. Our refuge where promises hang their eyes on us and spread their arms wide. There, we are orphans with no yesterdays. There where our hearts cut through tears. With our hands out we could
dream without end.

If you don’t find us there, friends lost in me, if yours knees still could, feel the wind, it’s still dappled with memories.

Just close your weary eyes
and feel the demise
become one with your veins,
as your heart drips
with transcended oblivion.

The feelings you once harboured
have now departed from the shore,
the forgotten waves
coming to an unavoidable end.
Maybe when you wake up, this will all just be a dystopian dream.

The Forgotten Child always tries
The Forgotten Child never cries
The Forgotten Child will never fly
The Forgotten Child will never know why

Their name, no one will remember
Their future, not even an ember
Their wealth, all will be sold in
Their popularity, all given to The Golden

The Golden Child never tries
But The Golden Child always cries
The Golden Child will always fly
But The Forgotten Child will never know why

Their love, everyone wants them
Their friends, everyone wants some
They keep, everything they've ever gotten
Their future, better than The Forgotten

The Forgotten Child will always do more
Yet they'll never be first
What are they even good for?
They'll always be the worst.

Do you know the agony of yearning every second for someone you loved fiercely, while he has obliterated even the faintest echo of your name from his heart?
Anguish of being forgotten by the same person who loved you to the fullest

It comes, it runs throughout this place
It covers, it hovers without a trace
And everything we once loved
We'll never again face

These castle walls were turned from bronze to rust
Shattered from the years of betrayal and mistrust
And the sands which one sparked our dreams
Are now only replaced by dust

After an incident of shame and guilt
I left my home misbegotten
And when I returned two years later
I was surprised that I wasn't forgotten.

I have seen those Golden Seas
And my name burned on someone's tongue
I locked myself out of life with my own keys
And I gasped for the toxic air in my poisoned lung

I must've forgotten who I was supposed to be
I hoped everything would be okay with a bit of luck
Then suddenly I was set free
And once more, I finally woke up.
this is my 83rd poem, written 2/20/24
