The drums' pounding sounds
echo deep in my chest
rattling my rib cage
a new heart beat is found.
I surge with the crowd
dealing with the push and pull
like it was the ocean.
Well we were on Ocean Avenue
So it sort of was.
People are being held above the surging waters
like boats floating on treacherous seas.
One boat emerges from the depths behind me
One that I did not see.
The next thing I knew
the head of the boat had hit me
connecting with the back of my head.
I turned around quickly
and pushed the boat along,
but by then the damage was already done.
I sang and danced to every song
Unaware until later of my new concussion.
I'm putting my "Forgotten Vow(el)s" series on hold as I am now concussed. I was at a punk rock concert, seeing bands such as Against Me and the Bouncing Souls. A girl was lifted up behind me, and started to fall onto me, hitting the back of my head with her head and that did it. This is my second concussion and I'm very annoyed to have gotten another one. So if you are going to punk rock shows, be aware of the risks mates. But also, go to punk rock shows because they are a blast.
Also I'm realizing now I could have said surfers instead of boats (bc crowd surfers lol), have I mentioned I'm concussed?
Also please excuse any obvious mistakes for obvious reasons.

I hope I don’t see anyone I know
I need to be high to enjoy the show
It’s wearing off can we please go?
Come back to my place we’ll snort some blow

Stadium overflowing
voices echoing throughout
Music reverberates around us
The intensity of our body heat
Each heart beating in perfect synch
Chants and screams
The lyrics of the songs
Confetti shooting out from above
Surrounding us with a blur of colour
Softly gently drifting down upon us
Jumping and swaying to the rythem
Flashing bright lights
The camera panning across the crowd
The smiles and the laughter
Pure happiness spread across their faces
Losing ourself within the masses
Surrendering our very soul
To the artists that through their songs
Helps us to stand up
Allowed us to feel needed
Gave us hope
The passion and the fury of the night
Where everyone was connected as one
An arena full of strangers
But through this music
Freedom and Happiness is born
The thrill of the night
This is what I live for
I've never felt more happy or excited in my life

Bright lights. Blue, purple, white. Sweaty
people. Standing too close. Eruption. Cheers.
Happiness. I turn to look; lost.
Afraid. Anxiety. Asphyxiation.

Cold beer in the left. Camera in the right.
Grabby hands. Singing. Guitars. Drums
that bang too loud. Hurting ears.
Headache. Nausea. Tequila shot.

Smiles. Greetings. Sitting at the back
of the room, tearing up. Favorite song.
No one to dance with. Too small in
all this space. Too small for this place.
Drag shows and heavy metal.

we were playing with our heartstrings on the stage,
stuck together in our personal cage,
hands that entwined with each other,
nails digging into our hearts,
we can put on a show,
that they don't even know that's going on.

your voice lingers,
my hands tremble,
the distance—
so close yet so far.

it was a never-ending passion,
every word you muttered
was another reason for me,
to live on a little longer;
we were chanters—
you're the executioner.

bright lights shone,
your talent shimmers,
your humour;
was the heartwarmer
the stage was brighter
you make heads lighter.

encore, encore, encore,
your presences drugged
the audiences;
and made them want more.

I was lost in thoughts,
as I stood by the railings,
and barriers were formed;
what was the reason again,
that I heard love called?
Attended a James Blunt concert today. I don't really care about what others have to say about him, but it's by far the best concert I had attended.

Regrets: Really should have gotten the front row seat instead of the end row. Probably one of the worst choices I had made in my life.

Look to your right

                                                                                                            Your left
Shake their hand
Say your name

Lace your arms together
Hold on

Shakes your body
                                                                                             Shakes your soul
Shakes your hand

i imagine us
watching concerts and gigs,

enjoying our nights;

singing and jumping to our favorite songs,

looking and smiling at each other,

your arms around me,

holding my hand later on,

and kissing—i love the idea of you

kissing me, baby.
