Don't.

Don't get coffee.

Don't kiss her.

Don't fall in love.

Don't think about her every moment.

Don't let those blue eyes pierce your soul like they have time and time again.

Don't let those lips poison your mind with the stinging venom of her serpent heartstrings.

Don't do it again expecting something to change with a happily ever after.

Don't convince yourself that you're done falling.

Don't think for a second it's over.

Don't forget it's just starting again.

Don't.
Fool yourself.
Don't
Fall in love.
Don't
Kiss her.
Don't
Get coffee.

Don't Assume
This time
Is
The last time.
For the confused and in love. But hey, what's the difference?

The Kiss

Poison
Long lasting
Stinging
Loveliness.

A moment
Lasting
Forever
Yet
So quick.

Hearts
Beating
Throbbing
Fluttering.

Lips
Tangled
Locked
Harmonizing.

Minds
Fuzzy
Confused
Yet
definite.

Bodies
Warm
Close
Touching.

Memories
Existant
Looming
Forgotten.

The Kiss

For those stuck in a moment of unsure bliss
Ken Voltaire Oct 2018
I love her, that's it.
There is no why or how,
No when and where.
There is no binding document,
No "terms and conditions".
Why do organisms evolve?
To become better, to thrive.
I think of this when I am asked why.
How is it that a creature as small as the ant is one of the most successful?
They work together and put every fiber of their being to one purpose.
I think of this when I am asked how.
When the universe began, is that when time began?
If so, that is when.
Where may one feel life reverberate in the beautiful emptiness of all that exists?
The answer to this is where my love does lay.

The sweetest thing in the morning
Is a fresh dose of joy
Arke Sep 2018
for all the love of life that is now lost
your voice rings through my mind like a warm song
regardless of sweet summers ending cost
creates poetry in my head ere long

our melting of minds and bodies now gone
but forgotten, your touch could never be
simple as the dusk which becomes the dawn
my love for you as pure, as it is free

I know you may not feel of me the same
perhaps never again will you be mine
and gone is the love that once easy came
perhaps your silence has become a sign

but my love for you will always ring true
and your love alone has carried me through

They’re cheesy
Some of my poems I know
An imitation
Of ideas used to the point of being frayed
Tattered and in holes
No longer appealing
Until I take them
And give them a shiny new cover
Then they’re attractive...
To some
Who need the idea repeated to them
Or to those who truly appreciate poetry for its function as a medium
Through which ideas, old and new, are transmitted in
Attractive ways
So maybe it’s really the reader
What they
Need
Want
And see

Sabi
My Bosnian honey
The rarest of beauties
Truly an Unicorn amongst steeds
With fleet feet
My heart races towards you
Like a rag of mustangs
Wild and free
             As you are
                   As you make me
Though I'm a world away
I can feel your heart beside me
Beating
        Thunderously
               Like hooves kissing open earth
If only in spirit
It alone sustains
Our kindered hearts
Amongst the world's stampede
With wise words you used to mend
My open wounds past sustained
My debt remains unpaid
Having little to my name
I declare my love
             My commitment
                     My everything
As a token of my endearment
As an answer to your affection
My dearest Sabina
This is the second of my love declarations to my friends. They where suppose to recieve them from another guy, but he chickened out, so I figured I'd pick up the slack. This one is for Sabi !

Does she sit on our bench?
Steal ketchup from your tray as you take her fries?
Does she make your eyes as ***** and moronically wide as they were when they met mine?
Do you play her our song?
Does she lay on your lap and hum along as you strum?
Does she laugh like I do, in the middle of a kiss for no apparent reason, except because she's having fun?
Does she taste like I do?
Like our packs of mints and spearmint gum?
Do you talk to her like you talked to me?
Recite lines from cheesy romantic comedy?
Do you roll around with her behind velvet curtains?
Does she look at you as if she's certain that...

She loves you?

Does she love you?
Do you love her too?
Do you love her like the way I loved you?
Did you love me too?

Did I sit on her bench?
Steal looks from your eyes as you took my fries?
Did you play me her song?
Did I steal her kisses, her laughter, her fun?
Did I taste like her gum?
Steal her cheesy lines?
Roll around with her man behind those curtains?
Did you ever feel as certain that...

You loved me?

Did you love me?

I loved you.

Does she sit on our bench?
I hope to God u never see this.

My interests include

Reading old love poems,
And reading the volumes in your eyes.

Writing new love poems,
And writing our future together in my mind.

Drinking hot tea in the middle of summer,
And drinking the words that your lips spin together like silk.

Listening to the late spring birds,
And listening to the heartbeat in my ears when you look at me.

Watching the stars in the dead of night,
With you in my arms and our bodies breathing together.

But my greatest interest above all else,
Is just you and every way you make me feel.
