Emma Hill May 2016
Sweetly, swooning, he laid me down, adored my being into morning
Baptised in his sighs I bloomed under soft caresses
Sacred bird song echoed round the clock face and stars gazed upon us, smoldering
Lustrous shine glared white
there was a stirring in my spine
tender kisses within, without, our gods meditated  on pleasure
Tears rolled lash to dimple in hushed prayer and with quiet thanks he received my offering
Our words too human, our bodies left behind
I was delivered
Eyes closed and breath steady goosebumps flowed over flesh, we consecrated this place
The rosette center of my labyrinth unfolded and thus I saw, he had been sleeping sound in my petals

You know what it's like to sleep beside me
And wake up to my morning breath, you know
What it's like to sink yourself into my depths,
Together
You and I know everything.

A woman once told me
I was an open book with tattered pages and
I do not think I can agree with this, but
Whatever kind of book I am, you
Have taken the time to learn me
And sift through every page
Marking and highlighting
Your favorite passages
With your clay-stained, summer hands.

You have seen the rivers of light run through my eyes
And you know that I grew up without a family, live without a home, and
While you understand these things you also know
That they are not why my love for you
Is so strong, and I cannot thank you enough
For knowing that.

When your hands meet my flesh, they are not surprised that it is startled by itself
And take the time to soothe
The fearful currents running through it
Back to sleep.

When your eyes meet mine, I'm reminded that
I have never felt so familiar
In another person's gaze.

You ground me, rescue me from chaos on occasion by reminding me
That it is never too late to be new-

And I ought to slow down my hurtling mind
More often than I do
To tell you this,
And write to thank you.
Love,
Sam

This love of mine, fatally wounded,
It will wait for you in agonizing patience,
For the pages of your life to flip, right to left,
Enduring the days until you finally see who truly loves you.

This is not a boast of arrogance, but a commitment of facts;
Hands clasped together and heart restrained with crystal chains, I have walked with you through tormentuous chasms and clifftops.

I am the one for you, the only one, because all others would have blown away like straw in the wind.
No other man has seen the depths of your heart as I have.
None person has fathomed the twinkling starlight in your eyes, the portal to your glimmering spirit.

So I'll wait for you as the fires of hell hollow me within,
Burning me up, becoming tortured for your sake.
For you I will wait, to claim your heart...
To give you mine...
**For love
If her lips are the universe,
He wouldn't mind leaving Earth
And wander what's out there.

If her lips are the music and lyrics
He wouldn't mind playing every love song that he loves
And understand, cherish every word that's been sung.

My ancestors believed winter to be a time of Darkness and Evil.
An inescapable veil of karmic injustice.

But We do not Share ancestry.

It seemed to Me that Your predecessors favoured Rebirth and Freedom in the darkness.
Such an act of strength in a time so Hopeless.

The planets Aligned and my possibility became a Reality.

You blossomed into My impossible possibility.
You defied nature, You were My golden snowdrop.

You mustered the strength to blossom in winter.

You joined Me,

We now stood alone in rebellion, Together.

see how these soft worn cotton sheets rub against my cheek?
see how the flame of the candle doesn't falter anymore?
see how the cotton candy pink of your lips rewrite history?
see how your kisses pull me out of my slumber and set fire to my veins?

do you see it, baby?

see how my heart churns and softens when i think of your name?
see how your skin feels like velvet underneath my mouth?
see how this promise may chip but it will never break?
see how this slow beating heart drags itself across oceans of blood just to be able to call itself yours, and yours alone?

do you see it, baby?

see how every kink and curl of your hair allows me to sleep at ease?
see how when you say you love me the night sky echoes it back to you
because that's where i hide my love for you? i fill up infinity with it, so the stars can murmur it everlastingly into your heart.

do you see it?
i hope you see it.
i do it all for your eyes only.

(so when you bat your eyelashes my heart beats in sync with it)
the 'your lips rewrite history' line was inspired by The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (thanks ana!!)

How could I ever whisper sweet nothings?
No, my words are akin to Robert Brownings
Words to his dearest, the eloquent Elizabeth Barret.
I could never compliment you without depth and passion
put into my words that is barely suppressed within
me.
.
.
How could I not admire so completely?
No, my adoration, limited by physics, could never be truly
expressed thoroughly though I try. My soul cries to be free,
To join into one with your own.
How could I not long
For thee?
.
.
How could I without you be?

i'd say my love for you
is your treasure
which nothing but carats
could measure.
it would take forever
to melt it down,
but only a second
to be your crown.
my love for you
is my pride
that nothing, not even crystal seas
will be able to hide.
if there would be a pinned poem, this would be it in the 'diamond poems' collection. i think this is the exact feeling every carat feels for svt, and our love for them is clearer than a crystal, unbreakable like a diamond.
