Playing the Player
Ghania Sohail May 2014
This love is a game of give and take
You can't expect to take everything and give nothing away

Treated me like your personal favorite toy
and still expect me to be at your disposal and sway?

It might have been a game for you
but not for me

You want to be a player baby?
Then lets play this game again

I'll beat you at it, beat you at it black and blue
Because if you're a player, Then I ******* made this game

Don't tell me to dance the pain away,
I'll inject the pain into your heart, and then i'll laugh again

Now, you can eat your own ****, Because I'm tired of you
And I'm gonna walk away

Now You're Gone
Ghania Sohail Apr 2014
What we had
was never true yet
you led me into believing you.

Screaming and thrashing;
that's how you left me,
now even sitting near a fire cant warm whats left of me.

I cant fix the pain that bleeds inside of me
because you took away the little
that was left of my sanity.

Normally, I'd say it was a pleasure knowing you.
but can I say that, when you told me that
wasn't the real you?

They told me to move on,
say "***** you" and smile.
"come on, you can do it. yeaah you're strong."

But little do they know, that you were my strength
and now?
Now you're just *gone.

Back to you
Ghania Sohail Apr 2014
All these places,
All these faces,
and my eyes still try to find the one that belongs to you.

All these mazes,
you filled my life with acid,
But I still try to get back to you.

The Dark Clouds Roll In
Ghania Sohail Apr 2014
Its raining here and I couldn't help but think about you, even though I know you hate the rain.
I always laughed at that, at how different we both were, at how much you used to hate the things I loved.

I hadn't thought about you at all this week. but as I heard the spatter of raindrops against my window and your voice, unbidden, rang through my mind like a bell chime. again and again, saying “urgh, i hate the rain.”

Isn't it weird? When that one thing you hate the most becomes that one thing to remind someone of you. I find it infinitely sad and infinitely funny at the same time. It makes me both; happy and sad. Making me want to laugh and cry at the same time, because that’s what you did to me. You made me lose my balance.

I used to think that, I could keep my sentiments restrained; You showed me that nobody could control their emotions. You showed me that opposites go really good together. You showed me an "us".  You showed me the kind of love that could either raise the world to its full glory or burn it down to ashes.

You showed me that there was a war inside each of us and that we had to fight it. You trained me, taught me how to fight the raging battle between the two sides of my own soul.

And then the war came and I was smack in the middle of it, where you taught me to be. And I was on the battle ground, wounded, bleeding -- dying, loosing. And I looked back at you for help. I looked back. And never found you there. You were never there.

Sun Rise
Ghania Sohail Jun 2013
Watching the sun rise over the place where I live was a very peaceful sight.
I read somewhere that the artists call the twilight hour the color hour;I never understood why.. But now, I do.
Imagine yourself as you stand on the terrace of your house, a light cool breeze plays with your hair making it blow, the sky's all dark, with a few stars twinkling here and there.
And as you watch the previously pitch black sky gets a light blue ray of light;like an artist's stroke of light blue paint over a black color canvas. The long dead stars that are still visible burn even more brightly at this time and just as you're watching, a few more rays appear dancing in the sky. You hear the birds chirp in the background but all your attention is diverted towards the scene that is playing in front you. The light blue rays, combine with the other rays of different colors; mauve, dark purple, dark blue, yellow, orange and many others, combining into a perfect blur. Then suddenly the yellow color takes over the sky with the orange highlights and the stars disappear, their glow overpowered by the magical glow of the sun.
You can see some birds fly here and there which is weird-- since they're aren't a lot of birds here.
Then, from behind the silhouetted figure of the houses in front you, the big ball of light appears, illuminating the streets of Askari XVI that look just ordinary during the day.
And that Is when vans, busses, and cars  rumble on the streets as life continues the way it must-- The way it does. Unaware of the beauty that rises and sets everyday.
