Now I see,
How I'm falling
Joining all ya'll lovesick fools

Battling tears from,
Memories held captive
To all my desires and rules

Like a fight with an enemy
Claw of a lion cutting deep
Love that's always unseen

Only to be forgotten
Under the ginkgo trees
Like the wind stirring leaves

This love I hold for thee
Causing discourse and sickening sweet
Smooth going as honey tea

You're a tragic lyric in my head
Silly and forever on repeat
An unknown book never read

People I know
Sing under trees
They follow the aroma
Of sweet honey bees
Gathering on graves
Forgotten black figures
With painful hums and hymns
Haunting sinful flowers
Creating sweet nectar
For tea sipping *******
Plantations engulfed in guilt
Wood and rope up in flames
Smelling of whiskey and ***
From the 1850's to 2020's
Still upright remains
The sentiments they built
Till present children dance's
Internet post gaining fame
For some to laugh at
Others show to shame
New historic beginnings
On the flame licked horizon
Feeding knowledge
Soils deep under feet
Promising seedlings growing
Encouraging brown and black faces
For a Garden's uprising
At last a brighter
Future song to sing

When all eyes turn to nature
When all hearts brush the trees
Whisper into the leaves

When all feet steps the grass
When all hands grasps the seeds
Speak into the trees

When all lips breathe the wind
When all bodies swamp the waves
Shout into the sea

Very much Alive
Very much Here
Very much waiting for a Career
ummm Idk maybe a feeling
Try living in paradise

Still recovering from trauma

Thinking about the ones left behind

Feeling sun on brown skin

While buildings burn down

Today was like any other

Enjoying cool ocean waters

While salt washes festering wounds

Fresh flesh like grapefruit is pink

Looking to the distant stars

Trampling on growing daisies

Only to lay in a field of them

Howling loud at worship

While fearing the whites of saved eyes

Lift every voice and sing

To dance and to be joyful

While quakes lulls sleeping babies

When the dust settles what remains

It took 30 years

For me

To feel powerful

It may take

Another

To

Believe it
In 30 years where do you see yourself?

I have lived 30 years

Living 30 years of experiences

All of them the same me
A reflection on turning 30 last year.
