Smoke danced off the tongue
Rolling with movements untouched
Breathing with each snap
Moments of the muse
Whisper into my ear
Rumbles of thunder shutter at eyes
Short blinks to realize
Martin Narrod Nov 2018
You have come out less who you are. You have given up on your tiny screen, maybe for that chance at your mother’s arms. Maybe that’s me, or maybe we’re both a little far away from knowing who you are: a giant queen of ease visiting strangers hearts. We know things, but to hear ourselves speak we’d need to scream
Out louder than the Red Spot afar. It was a tiny joy to feel, to feel you’d chosen me to shepherd us through the stars. This map worn with your grief leads to a hemlock branch strung hammock where I imagine laying in today’s grand autumnal festivities.
In a place where pain and disease run off together, and don’t stop to think where you and I might be.

In this world where we are
In this world where they gave you a chance
At giving up on who you were.

We were sitting out beside the sea, given a spot of almond milk to go with our tea, it was pouring art and raining beliefs, it had finally given you a chance to breathe, a child free to live without despair’s feral fiends.

Twirling, through verdant orchards caught by envies gleaned by greens’ motif.

This is not the place where I died
But rather the place I learned to stop worrying and learned to love my life.

sometimes i’m shocked
by the smallness of my world
at times something happens
that spotlights my ignorance
and i don’t worry

because knowing all
will never be
and knowing that
just reminds me

how what we know
is ever
in philosophical doubt

and what we know, we don’t know
is massive, multiple and manifold

and what we don’t know, that we don’t know
that unfathomable black hole
really can’t matter

leaving me in a state
of delirious mysterious wonder
accepting happily
that there is much to ponder

but there is no hurry
so what me worry
written after listening to some over cognitive friends

they don’t know.
they don’t know.
I tell myself over and over and over.
it’s impossible,
purely impossible,
for one to know my thoughts.
they cannot see me,
they cannot know,
so why is it I hesitate.
this feeling of paranoia,
so strong it drives me to insanity,
bedevils me even now.
I will myself to persuade my mind
that truly they do not know,
cannot know, will not know.
I tremble in the moment,
the ones that debilitate me,
leave me questioning my own reality.
it feels that they’re inside my head,
beckoning me...taunting me.
but I tell myself no, no,
no way in hell can they know.
for surely it is not possible,
for them to see me.
so why do these anxieties plague me,
over things I know they cannot know.
my struggle with mental illness
Julia Celine Nov 2018
I always pondered her ocean eyes
Her future, I saw, beyond them lies
Vast, encompassing an open world
And past the limits of the shore, her brave waves curled

My love washes away all my worries
Drowns out my misery
And now as she sets sail to sea
I worry how far she'll sail from me

So I whisper to the winds, "Go easy"
I barter with the tides
I beg the skies to open up
And let the stars align

Lend her light when shadows casted
Obscure the deep unknown
My love, she directs with the sun in her chest
Rooted down to the core of her soul

And I know she doesn't give up easy
Sometimes she may put up a fight
But to see her blue eyes shine like diamonds–
There's nothing like that sight

So follow each adventure
I don't doubt'll yield victory
Watch her learn and grow and grow and thrive
Please, ensure her lasting safety

As she travels to distant destinations
Shine on and when she's ready
Construct a map of constellations
And lead her home to me
Flesh sealing my cold orbs,
that remain on fire still at night.
Energy yet undrained
in the late hour of the night.
What are the odds with me being up?
What reason is it for me being up?
What am i looking for?
what am i thinking of?
Was it some good deed that has to be done,
yet never notice a responsibility to take action?
is there any chance for me to go back and recheck
or was it too late for me to look for a solution?
my eyes then froze open as the sun comes out,
thinking about how i even managed to survive the death's time.
As i lay down still until 11 am,
i asked myself "will my smile forever shine?"
I keep swallowing the wretched air of stress and insanity.
I keep clinging onto the somber dance of nothing.
I keep lacing my own skin with loneliness and punity.
I keep holding on the thoughts of everyday, i feel disgusting
Forfeit mere beside my bed,
i still froze to this dawning haze.
I see grey mist in front of my eyes,
dismissing the wish of this very last day.

Beam from above illuminates my body
Drink till i'm numb and let go of my worries
Dance in the spotlight
Escape once it is dawn
Hide in the shadows
Wait for the moon to return

You'll text me, right?
Please say there won't be a day you won't respond
You'll text me, right?
You don't know how important you are
To me and my life
You'll text me, right?
I just want you to be alright
You'll text me, right?
You know I'm always here if you need me
You'll text me, right?
I'd do anything you could ask of me
You'll text me, right?
I love our late night, early morning talks
You'll text me, right?
You don't have to hide from me
Not from me
Never from me
You'll text me, right?
Right?
