I remember,
there was a time;
the triumph for our kind
when we were still fine:
a heaven-sent rhyme.

I remember,
there was a time;
when our rhyme
was no more
than a yore: heaping
our seams of bore.

I remember,
the heaven-sent rhyme
that was, is now no more;
for neither you nor me
can never leave love be.

I could have died,
Had I not heard that song
I wouldn't be here now
Had the radio gotten it wrong

I was alone so long, a lost soul searching for somewhere or when to belong
I'd spent to far being strong,
I'd broken like an oyster with no pearl
I'd grown colder to the world

It's been half a decade since that day
So thank you radio for playing
Under the bridge that day

I ran to the top
About to roar;

I held back instead
That unsullied feeling
Before anything is ever said

Take a second,
My heart raced
Not often enough
We relish.

A triumph so sweet
Silence leaves my lips;
Our secret
I stayed speechless.

Once I unleash the words
They belong to the world.
I write so that my brain can exhale...

When the voice of justice is silent, evil will always triumph...

May the light of Diwali

Defeat all darkness*

Or perhaps.. *Transform
that darkness into light itself.

I wave my steel of sparkles wishing away unwanted emotions.
6:05 pm Wednesday, 11th, November.
The powdery snow flutters down,
coloring the mountain ridge white
The two inside a run-down house in a desolate village
huddle together in the winter night

“It’d also been snowing the day we’d met,”
you murmured with a smile
And I’d hidden my face flushed from the hearth
within the shadow of your large sleeve

With a breath of joy,
I sang of spring’s arrival along with the chirping birds
“Your voice is beautiful,” you told me,
and that alone, just those words, made me so happy

“If someday, I no longer had this beautiful voice,
would you still, even then, love me?”
“Of course,”
you said, smiling gently
as your large hand softly stroked my cheek

One leaf-lit summer afternoon,
you collapsed from illness
Our poor married life
couldn’t afford the medicine to cure it

The next day, along with the following,
I did nothing but intently weave
I wouldn’t let your life
fall like the short-lived autumn leaves

The seasons flow by
The bell crickets mark the end of summer with their cries
“Your fingers are beautiful,” you told me,
gripping my wound-covered hands,
but yours were much too cold…

“If someday, I no longer had these beautiful fingers,
would you still, even then, love me?”
“Of course,”
you said, coughing
as your large hands caressed my hurting fingers

Day and night, don’t stop weaving
Hurry, hurry, I need to buy the medicine…
Just a bit more, ony a bit more; before the autumn leaves fall
Until these fingers can’t move… Until these feathers are used up…

“If someday, I were no longer a human,
would you still love me?”

The truth I feared left unable to be told,
I softly pluck the final feather alone…

“Of course,” I say, smiling
I promised I’d embrace you when you lost your wings
And that crane which had beautifully taken flight that day,
I’ve never forgotten, and still remember, even now

And just like always, I love you

I couldn't help but find myself in tears over this

Eyes cast down
I walked with shadows
Only the boldest rays
Cut through the forest of my pain
Elusive glimmerings dance upon the path before me
Cold red eyes stalk me from the thickets
Fear creeps up my spine
The Angel within arises
Wings of power unfold
The ancient call resounds
I throw off this cloak of uncertainty
Pain once had a place,
a necessary lesson
But NO more.
I am not a child of sorrow.
I am a Warrior, a Survivor.
A strong, courageous Being
With scarred hands and a bleeding heart
I take up my Sword
I revel in the magic of my own existence
Looking past the shadows,
past the light
To where the horizon blends
Earth to Sun, Sun to Sky,
Sky to Sea
And the All becomes the One
A symphony of triumph
A trial of tears
Stardust and clay line the edges
Beautiful Divinity undefined
A tangle of lines and angles
Mark the road
Throughout our star crossed minds

Ever met an opportunity,
A chance that comes once an eternity,
Grasp that chance,
Change your stance.
Seize the day,
Don't turn away.
Claim the victory,
Set the history.
The future isn't set,
So don't sweat.
Make the right choice,
Win the race.
It has already begun,
Don't stop 'till you're done.
Triumph over adversaries.

I am not an actress worthy of the screen,
I am but a normal human.
And I know,
I too am mortal

My pain, and sadness you refuse to understand
So, I pretend.
I smile, laugh and it kills me
You who fail to understand me

They tell me to try
And I do,
yet every time when all is going well
You look at me with eyes of disgust

Shame me if you must
Shame me if you will
But know one thing
I will eventually move on

You will not be my chains
I refuse you to be what holds me down
I will cast you away from me
My dear depression
I will win over you.
That is my will
