Today
I will take the thunder,
the rain.
It might never come again.

I will take the sunset
and the dawn.
Someday it will all be gone.

I will take my flaws
and my mistakes.
And hope that they will only last
for today.
Because someday, they will all be gone. And so will we.

the darkness knows all my secrets.
he hands me a cluster of bones from my closet
the ones i've tried to bury
he conducts a séance for the memories
the ones i've tried to smother gone

the darkness knows how deep the storm roars in my chest,
and smiles at the rumble of thunder

It's been a while.
It's my fault we haven't talked.
I got new CD's.
I got new friends.
I'm not too sure if any of them helped.
But I got happier too.
I still wear black, but it's paired with a smile.
I hope you found happiness too...
I still have downs.
I still miss you.
I have a **** ton to tell you.
Did you know I play guitar now?
Did you know I have a tattoo?
I don't know when I will see you again.
If I do, I don't know if I will say hello.
But know that I miss you.
know that you're not forgotten.
i'm sure that you will never read this. i guess that's okay

Sitting at the window of a roadhouse
You in front of me, wearing a silly blouse
Green and red in contrast to my purple dress
Eyes staring at us but we could care less

Raindrops racing down the glass
Someone in the back playing the bass
A lightning struck, a thunder seconds away
You ask for the bill but I want to stay

Drinking the last sip of my sweet coffee
You reaching for my hand, smelling like toffee
Warm and soft in contrast to my icy hands
I’m staying seated but you got other plans

Umbrellas forgotten in the trunk
Friends outside singing while drunk
A fresh brise, raindrops soaking my clothes
You smile and pull me close

Walking to the car through the noisy night
You humming a beat, the sky gets bright
Crooked and quiet in contrast to the mighty storm
I’m rushing to the doors but you keep me warm

Water running down my skin
Me, leaning against your chest until we spin
Stiff and not in time in contrast to the fluid drops
We are dancing in the rain until it stops
A poem I wrote after I had this vision in my head. It's not perfect but I like the vibe.

Thunder booms then rumble into
nausea ripping through my belly
Lightning is almost ready
to leave the house
mulling before a blouse

Barefoot in a nettle spread
I am walking to your supposed love
and tiptoeing on a tight rope
towards your home
Until I reach your door and as you groan
thunder drums a heavy pattern nearby
Inspire me to stubbornly
crack eggshells on your doorstep

I am of the wild

I am thunder, and rain, and absolute chaos

I was raised to run with wolves

And I will not be rearranged by the hands of man

I am a butterfly flitting across your nose

Hair of vine, of wind, of water

Unbound by gravity, melting into the golds and greens of the forest

I tear down homes with my hurricane

I rage like wildfire

Bathing and dancing in the moonlight

I lift up my chin, calling out to the nature around me

I protect the things the rest of the world forgot

Snails and slugs and broken flowers

My eyes hold the moon and stars

They twinkle with madness

I am an oak tree

Branches and roots tangle between the feet of men

I am the wind slipping through the world

Undetected leaving my mark if you know where to look

I knew what I was doing when

I invited the wild in

When you hear the Thunder rolling,
and you're in the eye of your storm;
You can always take your refuge,
in the mighty name of the Lord.
~
When the lightning flashes brightly,
and you don't think you're prepared;
Just reach out for His hand,
in your whirlpool of despair.
~
When the sheets of rain are deafening,
and they cause you fear inside;
Go stand by the mighty Mountain,
in the blessed name of Christ.
~
When the rain turns into hail,
and you don't know what to do;
Just call upon our Savior,
and He will comfort you.
~
He'll take you by the hand,
and calm your frightened Soul;
He'll always hold you tightly,
He'll never let you go!
I wanted to model my life after a rainstorm:

To embody the excitement and freshness and screaming vitality
of a torrential rain on a hot summer day
To show off my clouds and shout out with thunder
My worries and sorrows, my failures and fears.
To laugh and cry and run and shriek
With windstorms and hailstorms and post-summer sleet.

But most of all,
I wanted to flash through people's lives like lightning
So, so bright and unexpected and beautiful and alive
That they held their breath and scanned the skies
For just one more crackle of energy and excitement
That makes them question their accepted lives.

If nothing else, I'll be petrichor
The soft, sweet reminder of new life to come.
That puts a smile on people's faces
As they, for once, stop, and breathe,
And remember that
They, too,
Are
Alive.

A dramatic symphony,
Echoes from billowing clouds above,
The marble sky glows with golden warmth,
At times even the orb is concealed,
Gusts of wind fly past,
Like driving a car with the windows down,
White flashes illuminate brief moments,
This marks the beginning.

As diamonds descend from above,
I turn upwards smiling,
The cold weather relieving a tropical heatwave,
The water replenishing parched soil,
The blessings replenishing parched souls.
