We knew stars
had no way of getting back home,

once they fell to the earth.
Yet their dusk would flow back into space.

Fall back into gravity,
and transform into a meteorite.
Because just like caterpillars,

everything in the universe, converts.

This storm will lose its form.
And you and I, once again, my love,

we will be un-torn.

How many wars
must we fight,

to finally realize,

we were always
enough.

Sun
And, what am I to you?
He asked.

--You, She replied.
Are the roots to this beautiful flower,

and my heart is like the sun.
As long as you

keep growing, it'll never let you die.

*Sandoval
Never.

Silence* doesn't ****,

but oh,

how does it

deceive us.

Sky
Thirty seven thousand feet,
in the air.

Scattered towns
look like tiny galaxies in the night sky.

I could write a thousand poems.

But all I can think of is
the magic in your eyes.

Traveling is good for the soul, though you never forget what you left back home.

Him
I looked up to him, as he stood there,
right in front of me.

I felt the stars burning inside
my clenched hands.

I wanted to touch him,
with this hopeless light running

through my long thin fingers.
The moon was imprinted
in his eyes,

and I could count
every constellation of his freckled countenance.
But, I could not yield.

He was a black hole, and I was the sun.
One step closer,
and he'd take my whole life.

What do you do with a love like that?
If not love from afar.

To Drew.

With Neruda, I fell in love with you.

It was so beautiful, I felt I had to close my eyes wide shut,

just to remember this was not a dream.

Then Hemingway came along, by then I was feeling a little lost in your eyes. Some days were good, some days were bad. Yet, I still held on.

But when I suddenly found myself with Bukowski on my nightstand.

Well, I knew then, baby, we were ******. He brought me back to reality, and I understood at that moment, that we were finally done.

Now I don't read any of them, they remind me too much of you..

To Drew.

Sea
My lips no longer taste of you.

He kissed away your breath, and sent it out to sea.

It drowned in a storm

where I no longer feel your pain.

And washed away, to a place where you

no longer have a name.

I write what

I feel,

and I feel

what I write.

My universe hung from the tip of his fingers.

As he played my constellations to rhythm
of his own selfish desires.

He created the moon to tame me,
and the stars to make me believe in his magic.

But he forgot one thing, his sun gave me fire,

and his strings gave me strength. My galaxies at last,
had no lengths.
