i think they saved you up
for my rainy days -
collecting gentle drops of dew,
(your heart)
the peaceful dance
of raindrops on my roof,
(your voice)
the warmth of my bed
on a gray day,
(your arms)
soft sunrays breaking through
dark clouds.
(your smile)

i think they saved you up
for my rainy days -
you,
with an eternity of love,
a gentle tide
to wreck ghost ships of tiredness
that live inside me.
you,
a serene potion to drink
on days when the other stuff
just doesn't work.
you,
head cocked to a side,
laughter clear and calming,
hands sure and soothing.

i think they saved you up
for my rainy days,
it's funny -
they forgot how much i love
the rains.

love
The way
You shuffle me

The way
You fall

On me
And all around

I see your eyes flicker as droplets on our skins dance to the ground.
Your smile widens as the water clicks the cement our heels tread on.
For a moment I am suspended in your love.
My soul expands to the sky, the earth, and the water in between.
Perhaps April will be my favorite moment between us.

The smell of dew lingers in the air
All around me is deserted except there’s you
The only sound we can hear
Is the sound of the rain as it seeps through

Watching the water as it falls from the sky
Our clothes becoming damp, but we don’t care
Engrossed in the nothingness, I stare in your eyes
Trying to understand your deepest fears

Can we stay like this forever?
Can the rain never go away?
For I fear when the rain is severed,
This feeling, this moment may not stay

How I love the raw emotion
As we both bear our souls
A moment to share our devotion,
To be free and lose control

Hear the trees as they blow
Feel the chill as it sets in
Here we sit in this shadow
With no desire for this to end

Just being here next to you
It feels like everything will be alright
Just sitting here among the rainy dew
Becoming one with the night

rainy day
like today
is a perfect way
for us to lay
underneath the covers
devouring each other
in every which way
until the next day

As the sun soars high in the sky and the tarmac shimmers in the heat.
I walk along on a grassy patch, with my headphones attach.
My throat has gone dry, mumbling to the beat.
I have nothing but a bottle, which is half empty.
My feet they never stop, because I’ve got some stress to cope.
The trees, they give me shade.
Our shadows becoming one as I stroll past them.
The dogs pretending to be brave, until I reach out,
its the care they crave.
Leaves fall down to the earth, yellowish blade
some curling through in the wind, others gently floating

I look on to the horizon, where the hills meet the heavens
and soon realize its all going to change in a matter of hours.
The glimmer of thunder at the distance does not reach my ears yet,
but the cool breeze reassures me of whats going to happen next.
As the blue of the sky turns to grey, I ask myself
should I turn back home, or is it time to play?
I have decided and so have the birds, as they flock together the greet the showers first.
The magic when a single drop of water hits the dirt, and the aroma fills you to the core.
“Petrichor!!” been ages if I recall.
Despite being drenched from head to toe, and whether my mobile is going to work fine or no.
The rain has mesmerized me completely, even though being a brief respite.

Well its a rainy day, the first of many more to come, i pray.
wrote this last year, during the first spell of monsoon!! hope you like it.

Just like clouds on a rainy day
your gentle words fade away
your letters fade from black to grey
your smile slowly fades away
and one day you will also-
fade away

You will always get to know someone more from a single rainy night than from years of bright sunshiny days.
Inkheart Oct 2018
I was thunder and rain
And I watched people shiver in my gray
Haze, like I was only there
To take away their sun

But you came without an umbrella

And you dipped your fingers
Into my bluish solitude
And painted the sea
The heavens and my eyes

And you told me that
The rain always makes
Your coffee taste better
