She says,
"You should know, dear
"The world doesn't stutter when it walks,
"Not the way you
"Stumble through your thoughts." And
I wish I could untie
The spool of my mind
But I
Keep feeding it thread,
Hoping it will spill out my mouth in
A rainbow scarf
Written in place of the 26-page history project due Monday
A picture hanging on the wall, a desk and two black curtains
falling down to the floor;
The full moon hides behind rainbow clouds,
stories of that yesterdays' sun
written
metal sounds
and two drops of heavy dew.

... Sighs ...

I was circling your thoughts,
they were mine
to wonder about
and make them shine
all the way
through the spirals of our times.

... wishful sighs ...

A picture hanging on the wall, a flower on the desk,
two black curtains falling down
and up the full moon staring...
An almost hidden by rainbow clouds
love for that yesterdays' sun...

The two drops of heavy dew
are reflecting into the floor.

The light in your eyes
And the rain from your tears
Mix together to create
The most beautiful colors.

This is a part of a longer, unfinished poem that I started writing for Pride Month this year. I liked this bit a lot so decided to post it separately until the full version is completed.

I am lost in the rain,
and the rain is lost in me.

In the midst of sorrow and tears,
Embrace your pain,
Craft it into a sweet wine,
Imbibe it's positive energy!

In the midst of sorrow and tears,
Make room for a smile and laughter,
Intertwine agony with a kind deed,
And color it with a rainbow of humanity!

In the midst of sorrow and tears,
Derive strength from God with a little prayer.
Plant a garden of hope in your heart, dreaming
Of a new dawn, a beautiful day, and enduring sunshine!

When I was 2 years old.
I did not know true pain,
I did not know true fear.
My life was full of rainbows.
When I was 2 years old-
My innocence was my beauty.
Years went by;
I was now 8 years old.
I knew pain,
I knew fear
The rainbows in my life no longer there.
The rainbows replaced with storms;
Storms of violence, of pain and fear.
My perseverance was my beauty.
6 more years pass,
I was 14.
Full of pain.
Full of fear.
I was scared of life.
My beauty was gone.
Now 3 years later...
I still know pain,
I still know fear.
But things have changed.
The rainbows look down on me once again.
The pain - still there, but less prominent.
The fear, following me - but no longer dominant.
So, now at 17.
I live, I understand and I love.
When I was 2 years old my beauty was my-
Innocence.
When I was 8 years old my beauty was my-
Perseverance.
When I was 14 years old my beauty was gone.
My beauty no longer missing.
It is no longer hidden.
My beauty has arisen.
My beauty, now...
At 17 years old.
My beauty now is;
My 17 years of pain,
My 17 years of fear,
My 17 years of experiences,
My beauty is me.
I am my beauty.
This poem was based on a speech I wrote for a class. It was based on one of my favourite parts of the whole thing. So, I decided to turn it into a poem. P.S. Don't judge the poor use of grammar. It is my downfall.

I see a rainbow,
Just after the rain.
As the water droplets, clear up, on my window pane.
As vivid as can be in its array of hues,
As glorious as ever, any colour we can choose.

I see a rainbow,
Seems like ages ago.
Since she last paid me a visit,
Only to quickly make a transit.
Back to the dreamworld she belongs,
Where she sings beautiful songs.

I see a rainbow,
Ah! How bright and beautiful as she,
What a spectacular show she has put up for me.
Steady and calm she is so full of poise,
And then hides her face without any noise.

I saw a rainbow,
Now again I shall wait
For the day I shall spot her I will be glued to my gate.
Looking up at her with a transfixed gaze,
I will stand still in awe totally unfazed.

How can I explain to you
That the numbness isn't a lack of all emotion.
It's all the emotions crushed into my tiny heart.
It's bursting at the seams and I'm so overwhelmed
That I don't want any of it anymore.
That's what the numbness is.

I fell for you like a falling star floating through space

Getting caught by Earth’s gravitational field Β

A streak of light across the inky blackness of the night sky

Burning in the Earth's atmosphere

Painting the skies with a rainbow of fireworks

Colors are merely light
manifested by the sun.
Prisms travel on a beam,
a rainbow of reflections.

Earth is just the canvas
it uses to create
brilliant diamond hues
of painted landscapes.

Polychromatic masterpiece
and every shade is new;
emerald blades of grass
with rhinestone beaded dew.

A bejeweled hummingbird
buzzes through the air,
magenta flapping feathers
aviate without a care.

Frosted icing mountain tops
shimmer in the background
aquamarine oceans
glitter waves come crashing down.

Turquoise dancing blooms
twirl along with the breeze.
Golden butterscotch buttercups
join the choreography.

Bronzed crystal sand
radiate in the heat
cooled with cobalt waters
by tinted tides that reach.

Succulent strawberries
that are painted ruby red,
purple sequenced pomegranates
dance in my head.

A kaleidoscope of colors
provided by the sun.
Put here for our enjoyment;
put here for everyone.

Oh, so many rainbows!
Oh, so little time!
Please enjoy the tapestry!
Don’t let it pass you by!
"Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions
And rainbows have nothing to hide" - Kermit the Frog
