She's the epitome of mystery
A mystery that takes a lifetime to solve
You'd be busy with her elegant puzzles
As she entertains with her clumsy clues
And at times, solving her would be tiring
Yet you know giving up would be a waste
So when you finally do solve her
You'd know that it was worth it
Echoes Of A Mind Apr 2016
I was lost
But you brought me back
Just as you always
Have...

I was confused
And didn't know what to do
But then there was something
Which lead me to you...

I was down
But you pulled me up
You stroke away the tears
That was running down...

I had lost my voice
But you brought it back
You just made me
Laugh and laugh...

I was a mess
And wanted do hide
But you brought me
Back into the sunlight...

I was empty
But you filled up the hole
You became the missing piece
To my puzzle...

I was full of distrust
But you made me see
That there are some people
Who I can believe....

I was broken
But
You fixed me...
You're the glue to my broken heart...

The universe is trying
To tell me something
Leaving clues for me to find
Hinting something
But I haven't solved the puzzle yet.

Like a puzzle
Frustrating, beautiful,
And in the end fulfilling
Finding the right words
The right thing to say
That helps you express
The way you want to be

Like a bestfriend
A confidant
Pouring your soul out
Because you can
Your fears
Your desires
Your problems
Your choices

Like a snowflake
Always new
Always different
Always unique
Not one is alike

Like a child’s dream;
An ice cream shop
So many choices
Too many choices
You want them all
You hate them all
You can’t have them all

Like a piece of art
Whether paint or clay
Different formats
Different colors
Different shapes
And different sizes

Like an orchestra
All different sounds
Coming together
To make one big,
Beautiful, enthralling
And emotional sound

Because poetry is poetry
Everything works
Everything fits
Nothing is wrong
Nothing is right
Just freedom
In words
You tried rearranging
all of the puzzle pieces.
It didn't turn out so well.
There were holes, gaping.
There were never pleases,
there was my tell.
I should have stopped you,
I would have had to yell.
This was something you felt
you truly needed to do.
So, I watched over the puzzle.
In search of a way to cope,
I only kept hanging onto hope.
Hope that one day you'd see,
the puzzle pieces were always right.
I did not need rearranging,
after all.
I found this in my journal from last August.

it's not the bustling city
with its massive modernity
and ever present life.
it's not the mountains
with their wild, untamed nature
and their way of making towns look small.
but something stands to be said
for the way the highways curve
into a mall complex
designed to look pleasing,
And for the way millions of cars
and parents and children
manage to fit together like a puzzle
so one can drop her youngest off
run errands with her eldest
and be home in time for her favorite evening programs.

you do not need to fit in their beautiful
because it lies
that one size fits all.

you were not made
so powerfully, so tenderly,
so naturally
to smooth yourself into
a magazine cutout.

remember
you are not a puzzle piece.
the only place you need to fit
is inside that skin of yours.

I refuse to be a filler*
Even if the room is all dark
and space retreats from corners
I am not an inbetween
of feelings and cat calls
so don't place me
in the remaining jigsaw
the edges won't fit
you must have shaven the curves
back before I sung with nerve
now I am jagged and anew
eroded by all the hurt
it's a new shape,  a new me
was I ever supposed to be
*part of your pieced story?
Letting go
Pastell dichter Feb 2016
We fit together like puzzle pieces.
And when we are apart,
I feel like I'm missing a piece of myself.
Eleanor Rigby Feb 2016
And maybe
We are puzzle pieces,
Carrying debris from
The broken
Universal truth.
