Too real
Too beautiful
Can’t resist
Can’t handle
I would take my soul
And throw it over
Watch it fall
See it shatter
Into a thousand silver shards
Like a thousand broken mirrors
See them melt and burn
Like these years I’ve lost
Like my love for you
Like your phoenix eyes
Like your dragon’s heart
Just to touch your face

Freeing from the shackles of the past
trickling down to a catharsis
at the slender neck of the hourglass,
the golden grains of sand
dribble down
to create my reality.

Unhurriedly they flow,
with me they flow
into the forgottenness of the past  they flow,
to rise like a Phoenix
clothed in the newness
of the present
to create a new me!

I was a flailing phoenix
Trapped underneath a waterfall
Unable to rise from the ashes
While being continuously extinguished
Until you constructed a dam
With the flotsam from my heart
I opened my wings and emitted light
Fearing waterfalls I took my fire flight
I was elated to have migrated
Where the weather was tropical
And the conditions seemed optimal
But your aggravating absence
Endeared an enigmatic essence
A vengeful apparition
That conjured rain
I desperately craved your protection from the elements
Until I noticed the precipitation was my infatuation
For you and the things you do
The things you build
Make rivers stay still
And the things you say
Make me regret being gay
Because you're a ******
You live in your exclusive dam
Your teeth are like cleavers
Gnawing on sacrificial lamb
From the heavenly embers the phoenix rises.
It opened its scarlet eyes and saw the world blanketed in darkness.
Its cries reverberating in the dim valley, paternal love it sought.
Woe is the phoenix for not a creature came and all it did was for naught.

With tears in its eyes till sunrise it waited.
Filled with indignation the phoenix flew.
For it realized that as a newborn it was cheated.
With only the support of itself the phoenix grew.

Time passed peacefully in the valley.
The phoenix' wings have now grown fully.
Then the phoenix’ adventurous spirit was suddenly ignited.
With newfound courage the phoenix soared, clearly it is excited.

It was fearful yet ecstatic for the world full of the unknown.
The phoenix said farewell to the place it once had grown.
It desired to wander the world hoping to meet with its kin.
The phoenix is very lonely and hoping for one’s happiness isn’t a sin.

Many beasts quickly hid when they saw the phoenix near.
When they saw the flames blazing they can only shiver in fear
Sighing with regret for it wants to make a friend.
But fate has been cruel and fear was its desire’s end.

It traversed thousand of mountains
And experienced countless rains
It hoped and prayed fervently to the glorious entity above
To grant its wish, to experience love

Listen to the beat of my
soul's drum as I am on
                             my knees, held down by
                         the fears and anxieties
                             that run ever so rampant

         With wings clipped, my eyes
                                take in the bleak horizon.
                                  My heart is a heavyweight.
My spirit is in shards, so
            what remains?

I feel the wind's fingers lift
                                caress my skin and my
chin, and with a single kiss,
                                       hope now begins to sprout
from my chest to my palms

The fire burns though I'm bruised,
I can stand on my two
cut feet. I am scared, but
if I let it conquer me, my
                                      wings will rot and crumble

I won't be able to touch, hold
                              and reach the true 'me'
                                        The highest and greatest me
                               who sits there, looking
                           waiting by God's side

Help me to be that phoenix,
the one who falls into the
ashes of the demons that haunt me
and rises again new, proud, free,
a blazing storm of acceptance and
         wisdom

I may cry,
I will die,
but with Your breath,
I will rise
I will rise
I will rise

I am a testament to a Conqueror's belief
Really struggling with my insecurities. I remember growing up, I wanted to be a dragon but then it changed to the Phoenix. Who dies and comes back new and stronger. Today's been a...emotional wreck for me.
Having both an emotional breakdown and feeling so lost on my identity and self-hatred.
But I know as long as I'm here, I will rise about it.
I will rise above it.
I will rise above it.
I have to...

In the cusp of closing night, I look into your weary eyes;
once outshining city lights. I see no way to realize
the healing of this blight - I venture to make a phoenix cry.
Remedy of such mythos might, might just prove unjust lies.
Chance restoring your ere vacant sight - fighting soul’s primal guide.
As any chance to restore my bride, binds our fractured lives.

...No words to describe affliction already decided.

I blame Jane

No way out of this hole in which I hide; locked in, a box.
No direction forward, life has all but stopped.
Trapped here by my imagination, all reality is lost.
Now way out; oh such a loss.

Do not get too close, or you might sink down with my mood.
I do not eat healthily; I am so bored of food.
Forced nutrition, the body needs fuel to work.
It has been a long time since I last flirted with a terrible flirt.
Love is just a forgotten memory and life is no ice cream.
A dreamer dreaming of a crystal palace
And a crystal crown for his Ice Queen.

You are a pinion upon the wings of this phoenix from the flames.
A damaged brain is just a part of a life, that is so lame.
I blame Jane for all I have to say…
Walls so tall they can never be climbed over.
The mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Solitude suits me,
Because it is my only option.
I would never start an argument
Or feel secure enough to state an honest opinion.

Now I only see Jane in my memories;
My social circle is a lot smaller.
All together now;
We all used to sing the same smoking songs,
Before we would all fall down a little poorer.
The dog days are barking even slower.
I fight my way, through the wind, shadow-boxing in every corner.
