You are my sea
Your voice and caresses
As tranquil as the waves
Soothing my weary soul

I crave you.
Desperately.
I long to explore
Where none have been.
To know you.

Oh, how treasured you are,
My pearl
Brooklyn Brooks Feb 2015
Together we are alone
the wishers utter was always unheard

the Art of my consort is like ash in the wind
this purified drift of the eternal fire burning for all eternity

Timid little shell as fragile as the pearl inside
Impurities imparted and manifested into a gem

Let me see the diamond
the diamond in your mind
I ve been mining with a keen intent
to break down the barriers only to be surrounded by the remains

Im intrigued by lustered reflections of light in these rays of waves in this passing haze of the delicacy protected by your shell

Pandoras box and eves delight
only gives me a peek of that iridescent insight
Such an elusive emblem of the coveted representative Aphrodite

Awakened by impending doom
To
Cross the threshold of a Careless bloom
you turn to me to turn away
that I see
the Diamond is your mental mineral.
we must first be secure with ourselves to relate properly to each other.
we are all so fragile yet so enlightened when our greatest weakness becomes our greatest strength.

one grain of sand
inside one clam
The clam spends time with this grain of sand
it is nurtured
it is protected
it is valued
it is loved
it is seen as an important part of the clams life
it then becomes a pearl

Why are you so clammed up?
I'm clammed up because I am making a pearl
I am making myself my own pearl
creating my own beauty
Shining my imperfections as if they were weaknesses
I am loving myself
And protecting myself from the toxic environment the world around me can be
I am learning the value of myself
Nurturing myself
The pearl is my own sense of self.
That is my pearl
Two lovers meet
One day, in secrecy

Hearts warm as a pillow
of makhmal

The lover says to his love
“You are a pearl buried in the
ruins of the world
People come and go
they watch
But they cannot smell the kastoori
They laugh, eat, and joke with you
But they don’t see your heart”

The mirror slips from her hand
It falls down
She cries and with shivering hand
She says
Tear apart the wall
You’ll not need any windows anymore

makhmal: velvety leaves
kastoori: musk

smile that you wear
is more beautiful than
The Pearl hidden in shell
In depth of ocean,....

I can't reach the moon or see,
The glowing stars of thee
I can't fly like birds
Or get closer to your beds
I can't dive into your ocean
Or enjoy your pearl of devotion
I can't word the word of peace
If this love means to chase
I can't win this long war
When you just wave from far
Don't judge my poor broken heart
Or the lonely soul struck by darts
It's only the evil heart of yours
When you shut all of your doors
I've lost the lost lion in me
With the kind of man I want to be
Now the warrior in me is dead
By the glimpse of hope, you've killed

A friend recently explained the painful process an Oyster goes through to produce a pearl. It was like a revelation to hear that, the process comes at a great price  lots of pain to get something with priceless beauty. The other stuff people might rarely see, is it like you or like me?The tough stuff me go through if it don't make us bitter makes us better. We  gain compassion, more understanding, a little kindness goes a long way to
brighten someone's day. If we don't let our trials lead us astray.
The things that people see on the outside, don't define us the true beauty
is contained  deep inside; our jewel. The next time you are having a tough time it is just a process, the working out to make you stronger to
produce your jewel. The tough times are not meant to stay forever they
have come to pass. What is inside is what truly counts, be the pearl and
let your true inner beauty shine; the rest is just the outer shell.

And what do you do
when the world’s your oyster?
If only it were as light
and as pretty as the pearl,
I’d hold it up to the sun and praise its
ethereal form.
Or if it would open
as easy as a picture book,
I'd read every word and know just what to do.
Instead, I stand on its dirt
and wonder how I could ever
build a castle out of it.
Endless Horizon Aug 2014
What has happened to this place?
It screams of pain,
ignorance,
death.
But above all,
it screams one question,
"Who am I?"

I know of a woman,
of endless beauty.
People call her by many different names,
But I call her Perlas.

On the outside, she looks fine,
as happy as she can be.
But the inside is a totally different story.
A war has raged upon her mind,
like two fierce lions,
battling for supremacy...
...for victory.

She does not know,
that she is slowly killing herself.
Already inches off of falling down a rocky cliff.
I watch the events unfold.
Page by page,
her thoughts,
her actions,
grow worse
and worse.

She hates herself for it.
But she does not change,
but only chooses to stab herself even more.
How could someone so beautiful,
curse herself over and over again?

The final blow, comes hard.
It knocks herself off her feet,
and sends her flying off the mighty cliff.
Down to the jagged rocks below,
She has sent herself to her own horrible death.
I've been thinking about this for awhile now.
