I take a look around this store
and can't help thinking...there's got to be something more.
Something better just waiting on the other side of the door.
I've made lots of memories through the years.
I even made some friends who taught me how to face my fears.
I may not know what lies ahead
but I'm leaving here with nothing left unsaid.
Now it's time to grow up. Time to move on.
Time to learn about the world and see a new dawn.
I feel so alive now that I'm finally free.
The only one who's going to stop me is me.
One thing I learned I want you to understand,
don't be afraid to fall. Someone will help you stand.
This is about me leaving my first job at a convenience store.

toughen up chickee,
wipe the tears from your face
put a smile in their place.
stand tall and let them see
how strong you can choose to be.
shaded lips to stop them dead,
you’ll play a mantra in your head,
keep that **** far away
and square your shoulders,
to face a new day.

The smile you give me hurts my soul
Because as much as I want to smile with you, I know how this story goes...

From a smile to a scowl,
It's the same, every game,
So that's why I throw the towel,
I don't like to waste my shame,
It's okay, but don't you dare,
I don't get why do you care,
It's a curse I cannot lift,
I just wish not to exist,
But I do, so I accept,
It's all I really have kept,

So you see, the mystery has had its story lit to see, I'm often alone, and misery, don't waste that light on someone like me...

The spectacular quiet,
Is where the stars rest above the atmosphere
And where you lose the voice of reason
As you stare into the clouds
Hoping to catch a different dream
Searching for sounds you’ve never heard
Wisdom will tell you that’s life at its best
And youth will tell say you’re at your worst
Time will always live for the chase
And reminiscence will cloud your judgment
But when there is nothing but silence
And the sky is asleep,
You’ll hear the voice of your impossible dreams
Singing it’s famous lullaby
Waiting until you shut your eyes
To take your worries for a flight
And teach you how to say goodbye

It's starting to wear off;
The excitement and yearning
It's more of a residual
Longing for those feelings

As time progresses
It will be an afterthought
Of emotions I had
Once upon a time

Torn between choices
Move forward or go back home
Which one up to you
We all face that choice every day, there is no such thing as standing still, even if that change is a tiny minute one it is still pushing you one direction or the other.

She was staring out the window
On a rainy afternoon
She liked jazz
but he always played blues

Tune after tune

So it was blues she listened to
With mock appreciation
for the records in the room

A lazy lovers weekend
with books and plants and puff

She smiles every so often
But she knows she’s had enough
