Love is a mirage,
You see what you feel,
Even when you don't believe,
That anything so pure and true,
Could ever be meant for you,
But love is an image made to change,
Your perception and his,
Of the world and everything else in between a kiss,
For love is a mirage that plays you for a fool,
Where you take fantasy for reality,
And sometimes you're left thinking "I must be crazy",
Still don't be ever so silly,
To deny yourself a smidgen of happy,
For even mirages are there to remind you that sometimes you'll see,
What's only there for you to see but not others,
Only then you'll know if he's the one,
If this love you feel is divine,
One-of-a-kind,
Meant to be until the end of time.

marriage is
just two letters
longer than
mirage
(penned by different feathers)
but is Mr. Age
what matters
as he does
for cars in a garage?
You can mimic the arc
If you are not colourful
You're not the rainbow
Si c'est pas le vrai, c'est que le faux

The hopelessness in a foreseeable car crash--
an emotion lasting a split second--
is unlike the crippling anxiety of a passenger
who fears the leather-bound mobile mercy seat.

Yet the mirage renders the victim just as helpless
in the impalpable facade of doom.

To never leave this room.

A collage of so many  wings blend together
to form a motion of wisps lighter than a feather
unto there colliding forms became illustrations
but these were fake facades of a narration.

Her smiling features fluttered reverberating
All were hypnotized, all were unintentionally baited
With eyes that quivered with each moment passing.
Awe struck at this image that perceived eyes all hung.

Was this beauty that besotted the mind of reality
or was it on the heart and thoughts not to agree.
Which ever smitten were all within her eyes prolonged
gaze that captured all sights that lingered never withdrawn.

Moving towards this illusion that contradicted sight
footsteps lingered towards known oblivions plight
for above a cliff they lingered enticing all to flight
descending to silence, they feed quietly on others plight.

A cool wind touching crevices
of your face, escaping
hot air and dodging quickly
as to not be caught by sun.

Your eyes gleaming deeper
than ocean waters
disguising life below them as thick,
uninhabited.

White birds sink deep into sunsets,
seen from different windows,
all whispering the same words..
look at me and feel beauty

I can picture your hands,
cleaned, but stain imprinted
placed softly on my skin,
alone, with waves crashing.

Time is no constant.
There's only light and it's absence.
Your smile never fades away.
No envelopes with red writing.

I can hardly feel the fabric
worn loosely on my skin.
There's scattered sand upon it,
on sun-soaked salty bodies.

We're happily pacing
a shore of endless shells
laughing about stories
of work and other chores.

I want no one other
than your green eyes, blinding
to take me there, love me bare,
a shore with just our footsteps.
Mirage
Thought it was the answer to my prayer,
I saw it,and started to like its short term effects but it faded.
Only then did I realise that it was just a mirage.
A reflection of my desire which I could see but not seize.
Indeed it was just a mirage..
The reflection of my miracle..how deep!
Maybe to test my reaction when I have it or to show me that there's something better.,
But it seemed so real,it was just a mirage though.

all that was not real

etched its way away

deserted

while those whose thirst needs quenched

see crystal pools of blue

my eyes search the horizon

for the desert

a mirage that’s real

hopeless, helpless, confusing, gloomy have faith dark muggy muggy
evening of hopes, oh what an error, how could I, this again and again
same old same old, hopeless, helpless, chimera, mirage, don't trust
lost, defeated, distant, too far the journey, endless, keep walking
featureless, destiny, fate, tired, unclear, ebbing evening light, faceless;
let go, less hope, less help, less clear, less light, less known, only less
not no hope, no help, not clear, no light, unknown, indecipherable;
endless, hopeless, confusing, tired, can't walk, where to go, how, how
light is within, destiny, fate, chimera, mirage, nevertheless, endless
Experimental impressionist verse: 3 'lilies' are 3 thoughts of hope and light, which emerge in a wave-like mass of depressing thoughts ebbing and rising in succession
