Fog
She creeps quietly
into the dim lights of the city
inundating gentle delicate thoughts
into a deluged gray haze,
lingering vacantly in fragile minds,
and drifts over towns like an overcast of curtains
like a nebulous blanket
for she leaves with an air of mystery
on little silent cat feet
Fog comes and goes as she pleases,
on silent cat feet

I hope the weather here get's better,
it's been raining nonstop for two weeks! It's so depressing outside :(

Meet me under the apricot-sky
And linger

Until the ember-coal-moon shines
In the Dutch-oven-dark heavens

Then sigh when I sigh.
Aria of Midnight Jan 2015
today I breathe--
without you
but instead of pain
there lingers serenity
calming butterflies
at my core;
palms faced upwards,
I heal.

My mouth it did betray me
three words I whispered
softly into your ear
and now my lips do linger
waiting for some reply
Amanda Dec 2014
In my arms, you belong
but you are so far away.
Tell me: what would you do
if all I asked of you
was to stay.
cait-cait Dec 2014
your taste lingers thick
on my tongue,
like the wedding cake
placed before me;
half-eaten, and
mostly smeared,
as i think of what
he could've done for me,
but didn't
i went to a friend's fancy greek wedding and the cake was terrible. i can still feel it in my stomach, yuck.

stop making me think that you care about me more than you really do,

stop holding me closer than you can handle and back away when you can,

because as much I want to be near you every second of my every day,

if all you're going to do is leave me in the end,

please stop

step back

and walk the other way.
it's raining and this is my first draft but I think it's alright

Fingertips lingered on screen
where last words stand.

Eyes lingered on shoulders
when turned to end.

Confessions lingered on lips
as courage got robbed.

Tears lingered on chin
while my heart lingers on you.
In the beginning, I was the universe
Formless, without shape or reason
Everything I felt floating around inside me
In no order, like stardust
Stumbling its way through life, arbitrarily

Then, you came...

And suddenly, I found myself
Floating in the most beautiful ellipse
In perfect order, indefectible
With your breathtaking soul at the center

I felt you pulling me into shape
My awkward human form molding to your perfection
Your gravity grasps me by the back of my hair
and pulls me in for a long kiss
And at that moment I felt a 10 millennium old star
Shatter into a supernova at the force of our love
While we stand in front of it's glow,
And smile together

I didn't know it was possible
to smell you on my skin
so long after I had scrubbed away
any evidence that you had been there

yet you still linger
a ghost among my perfume
miles away
and alive in my senses
