For to rest in the gymnasium
Is to watch others wrestle.
There is no pendulum
Which is not but itself a pebble.

I am the gnomon.

For all are free
And each person is their own mason.
From the block of marble we chisel
Out who are ourselves.
Excuse me.
Excuse me!
EXCUSE ME!!!
Yes you. I have a question to ask.
Why does it take several times for you to respond to me?
You can't answer that
I know why...
It's because your head is buried into your smartphone

It seems that your compulsive behavior with this machine is creating a barrier amongst others
Sure you may have loads of friends online, but you can't truly see, feel or hear them
Your "friends" are not really your "friends"
Is it that necessary to refresh your post over & over again?
We all need stamps of approval from time & time again
But how much?
Where is the line drawn between this computer world and reality?
Stop investing countless hours looking for someone who cares about what you think or what you have accomplished
Believe me, your not being left out of anything
Let's not compare, because it's only going to hurt you in the long run
To look for happiness and love through social media isn't the solution
Interactions with real human experiences, that's what we all need.

If it was incredibly uncomfortable, there is a big lesson behind it. You are growing.
Congratulations. You have officially exceeded your comfort zone.
You feel how you act, and think every day,
How do you schedule, your free time,
The hours to have fun and play,
Exploring something, getting out of the daily grind,
Getting lost in having fun, with no limit on time.
No distractions, hours just to go out and play,
Look for the positives around, no worries, think free,
Stop waiting for negative, news, or bad weather,
To have something to talk about, every day.
As people age, they seem to eliminate, excitement,
Looking for new accomplishments, or anything else,
Out of reach of a cell phone, or the sound, picture, of a TV,
The only way, to discover, your spirit, and soul,
Creating what makes you smile inside, introspection, times alone,
Forget about, that extra hour one late night, that could be the moment,
You discover your purpose in this life, and your inner soul.

A thought to ponder on, the people  who originally made the rules,
Eat three meals a day, along with eight hours of sleep each day, it did not work, they died a long time ago. Do what works for you

Hare?

Is it stuck up?

Tired of reality?
You just hope
You wake up in a dream.
Do you know you risk a nightmare?
The mind hatches awful plans,
Sets up terribly dreadful schemes.
What's it all mean?
I don't know?
Maybe?
Do you know?

And this is how it ends!
And this is how it begins!

It's all alphabetical,
All numerical.
Can you hear the song,
Read in-between the lyrics?
The structure of its wording?
Have you tried at singing?

Is it all spiraling?

Chelone?

I yearn for something long gone in the depths of the future;
Not able to place a finger on its familiarity.

Discovering what is already known
Can be a clarifying process of redundancy.

When a step forward feels like a tumble backward
Toward the inevitable direction of it all.

When a puzzle forms around me
I stand there, inert.

The challenge beckons me further. It calls me closer,
Etching itself deeper into my path.

Smiling at the fantasy of completion on the other side,
A field of emotional mishaps rains down before me.

We know that which we know.
That being that we only know
That which is learning, to grow.
That knowing is to learn.
It is to never completely be sure
Of that which you already understand,
Yet to be totally assured.
For in that ignorance,
There is wisdom.

there's progress in the small steps
there's learning in the calm
and I'm just grateful to be here
learning from you all
❤️
You all inspire me so much with how well and thought out your writing is, thank you!

but,
I think it's a brave thing to do,
when you start something new.
allowing the past to assist/not lead,
admitting you're not the best/ but trying to be,
therein lies true strength/ authentic humility.
not to disrespect/ just to overcome,
the need for perfection/ the rush to get it done.
because in poetry we can say it,
in any which way we want.
I wrote this when I started realizing I wanted to pursue writing to share with the intent of helping anyone who's afraid to start new things. I hope you have just enough confidence to choose yourself and begin again, even if it's for the 1st or hundredth time.

What we’ve come to know
about being human
is to grow in phases
to take pain and grief
from the ends of the bookshelf
and to stir them into the atmosphere

breathing in and out
until the silence between each breath
was a bridge to relief

it was never to solve the puzzle in a day
or to sort through all the pieces in
a strategic manner
but to feel the joy of frustration
the strange joy of trial and error
